Name For A Thrift Store Specializing In Refurbished Furniture

Cute name for a used furniture store?

"Home Again" or maybe "Please Be Seated...Again" or
"My House or Yours" Your House or Ours" "Your House or Mine" ;)

Has anyone had luck buying home furnishings and decorat thrift stores and repainting them for resale?

Personally, I would try to avoid doing this because most of the time repainting significantly destroys the value and integrity of the piece.I have seen so many examples of mid century modern or true antique pieces that were chalk painted past recognition. Most of the time the piece is left unsalvageable. There are so many horror stories of impeccable and pristine examples of rare furniture that were ruined. If anything, I think refinishing furniture that had wrecked finishes makes more sense for physical and aesthetic longevity (plus it can be pretty easily reversed if need be), but that’s my opinion.

Where can I find old furniture in Bangalore?

I would suggest you go for Saanchi antiques, an antique store in Bangalore. You can find a magnificent collection of old furniture in Bangalore. The reason I would suggest Saanchi is because they have a very high-quality furniture. each furniture is made from different type of woods like oak, teak, mahogany, rosewood, elm etc.Saanchi has a rare collection of antique and old furniture at the most reasonable price. Saanchi is well known as the vintage and old antique furniture shop in Bangalore.let me share some of the furniture from Saanchi.Address :#5, Setlur Street, Off Langford Road,Langford Town, Bangalore - 56002511 am to 8 pm (open all 7 days)Phone: +91 080-4120 2086Email: saanchiantiques@gmail.comHope you got your answer!

Where do we get cheap furniture in bangalore?

Bangalore is an immense city with a vast population. Finding furniture is not a great task. Although I don’t stay there but my sister just moved to Bangalore and that’s why I know she had to hunt a lot for “cheap furniture”.There are many stores like ibelong, Huzaifa furniture and east furniture. They are some of the furniture retailers which sell through their stores. But I personally would not recommend you to buy furniture from these stores, if you genuinely want to buy inexpensive yet trendy and latest in designs then go for online shopping. I suppose everyone these days go for online purchasing and this is the reason that every latest trend followed in the world is available online first. Don’t worry about the quality of wood or fabric. These online retailers ensure the quality and guarantee quality check before the delivery. They even provide some sort of warranty too. Some of the online portals to buy furniture at are Wooden Street, Pepperfry, Amazon, Flipkart, Mebelkart and Snapdeal.Wooden Street among them can be distinguished from the rest because they provide the users an option for customizing the existent furniture or the customer can provide a design they have pictured and Wooden Street will craft it for them. Pepperfry also has a wide range of amazing products.

I need help finding old furniture!?

I have a small business "flipping furniture" by redoing and distressing junk-to-jewels!! In the winter season, I'm having trouble finding pieces to refurbish. I try to get good finds at my local Goodwill, but they arent as cheap as I'd like to turn a profit.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Can I easily make a profit by buying things from a thrift store and selling them on Craigslist?

If you know what you're doing. I'm in Minneapolis so I have a lot of stores to work with, I do it easily. I only shop the items I'm a expert in(designer jeans, high-end candles, designer bags). I can fly through quickly grabbing what I know is valuable. I'm in and out. If you have to waste time looking up every item you ‘think’ might be valuable, it's definitely not worth it. Also, I need to question your wanting to use Craigslist. Is your expertise in furniture? If it is, that's the perfect platform. If it isn't furniture, you should really think about selling on one of the many online selling sites. With those or with the selling apps your selling 24 hours a day, it's incredibly easy and profitable.

Have you ever bought something from a thrift store or a charity shop and found out it's worth a lot more than you paid for it?

Many things. I shop at Salvation Army almost every Wednesday, all year long, because on Wednesdays everything is half off. One time about 25 years ago an elderly woman died & her “Stuff” was donated to Salvation Army. I bought several Asian art works of porcelain & jade, two signed LLadro statues, two pieces of Belleek, several old porcelain teacups & saucers from Bohemia, & a sterling sugar & creamer set, nothing was marked over $4.99 which meant I paid half or $2.50 for some & down to a dollar for other items. About ten years ago, the truck was unloading a chair, which I called dibs on, by ripping off the bottom of the price tag, which is a two part tag on furniture; it was a $3000 Ekhorn recliner from Sweden as shown below but in a soft mocha color; I paid $49 for it, I keep it in my bedroom because my cats’ eyes lit up & it was in perfect condition & my cats would have shredded it in days. My bedroom is off limits to my cats because they wreck things, so whatever isn’t in a curio cabinet or china cabinet goes in my room or my hobby room next to my closet. My Siamese pushes things off the furniture to the floor, so I removed anything breakable & put it where she can’t break it.I shop probably 49 Wednesdays a year & find all kinds of treasures to give as Christmas & birthday gifts, from Deerfoam slippers (store donated cases of them in men’s & women’s styles when boxes were crushed but slippers were fine. They were $1.99 or maybe 2.99 so a dollar or a dollar & a half per pair. I know I bought ten pair in different sizes.) I bought a dozen new pyrex bowls with lids with labels on them for a dollar each, another store donation. Stuffed animals with slightly torn tags or new toys with slightly damaged boxes, easy to tape box & donate to Toys for Tots. Cut glass or crystal serving pieces & candle sticks & sugar & creamer sets & vases, esp old cut glass or crystal. I also caught the truck unloading a full-sized suit of armor, (which I ran to & ripped the bottom of the tag off, putting dibs on it) for $30. He’s been in my entry hall for nine or ten years now. I love shopping at Salvation Army. Not only do I find treasures, I can afford to give at least a dozen gifts to each person I love and several gifts to friends, and many toys to toys for Tots, which I could never do if I bought things new/retail.

How much does used furniture typically cost?

Check out thrift stores and used furniture stores in your area. You'll want to culminate a minimum for 2 thrift stores, as thrift shopping can be very much feast or famine - It' either bunches & bunches of stuff or slim pickings.

You will also want to educate yourself on bedbugs - what they look like and where they tend to hide on different types of upholstered furniture. I've lost more furnishings than I care to discuss when a bed issue became a whole-apartment issue. It's no fun, so don't let it happen to you, okay?

If at all possible, you'll want to purchase your mattress/box spring set new to prevent that issue. However, if that is not possible with your budget, then DO invest in the bed bug protector covers for your mattress and box spring to limit your exposure to critters. They are a little more expensive than standard mattress covers and can get a bit pricey when you go to queen & king size, but before you talk yourself out of them, look at it this way: Would I rather spend possibly $150 - $200 on bedding protector bags OR $600 - $2,000 to replace my mattress set and potentially every other piece of upholstered anything in my apartment?

Short list of where to look for furniture that's relatively inexpensive:

thrift stores
resale shops
craigs list for your area
yard/garage sales toward the end of the sale day
estate sales
flea markets

For relatively inexpensive furniture that is new, check out Big Lots of all places. You can find out if there's a store close to you by going to www.biglots.com and typing your zip code into the box for it under the store locator.

Are thrift stores profitable?

They can be profitable.  I've run a furniture resale store for a decade & a half.  Here's some opinions: The C2C market has grown substantially (eBay, Craigslist, garage sales, etc.) so people don't need to go to a store. 80% of everything is crap (it can be difficult to get objects of good quality). There's more work in obtaining stock (you may have to go get it vs. a wholesaler shipping to you).  Imports have driven down retail prices (i.e. the popularity of the dollar store). On the upside, everyone wants to save money and many people support the practice of recycle/reuse.  I recommend contacting NARTS: The Association of Resale Professionals for more info.
