Biological systems that have many independent autonomous or semi-autonomous agents create very complex systems that have certain systemic properties and the ability to adapt to changing forces (eg an ecosystem). Biological systems are far more complex then our most sophisticated software systems. Some of the most complex software systems are found in telecommunications. The systems that constantly keep your cellphone connected receiving and transmitting voice and data at high rates while you travel for example involve the black arts of antenna design to detect signals in noise analog and digital signal processing, realtime processing that adapts to the environment to maintain connectivity, intelligent handoffs between different components, routing, billing, etc. etc. I am sure search ranks up there because it it contantly adapting to a changing internet. There is a difference in scaling and complexity. The neurons in a hummingbird are complex, getting a million servers to provide search results means there us a high degree of repetition in most of the system. The complexity would come from the unique bits, like power, connectivity, routing, less from serving up the search results. Well that is my speculation anyway, corrections welcome.

What's a good software title that will allow me to auto rename files when copying them to another folder/drive?
I have many files that have the same name, but they are in different folders/drives. It's just one of my programs that auto-names the files that way. I want to move them to a new external hdd, and so i need software, hopefully freeware, that will rename them when copying them over to the new drive. Please, can someone suggest something? I hope there is software out there that will add a routine to the context menu (right click menu) where it may rename the subsequent files with a "1", "2", "3", etc. Thank you!!
