Salim Kumar (Malayalam: സലിം കുമാര്; born on 10 June 1968) is a National Award winning Indian film actor and mimicry artist predominantly acting in Malayalam films. He is one of the prominent comedian actors of the current generation in Malayalam cinema, but has shown his acting versatility in drama-centered films such as Achanurangatha Veedu, Gramophone, Perumazhakkalam and Adaminte Makan Abu.[1] His role as Abu in Adaminte Makan Abu won him both the National Award and Kerala State award for Best Actor for the year 2010. Earlier he had won Kerala State Film Award for the Second Best Actor in 2005 for his role as Samuel in Achanurangatha Veedu.[2][3] Salim Kumar's first film was Ishtamaanu Nooru Vattam, a family entertainer directed by Sidhik Shameer. Further he got numerous opportunities. After establishing himself as an essential part of Malayalam comedy film, he earned the reputation of a character actor by becoming hero in Achanurangatha Veedu, directed by Lal Jose. For his performance in this film, he won the Kerala State Film Award for the second best actor in 2007. He has also handled serious roles in films such as Gramophone and Perumazhakkalam. He has also done a very commendable performance in Kerala Cafe( Segment: The Bridge). Salim featured in a hip-hop number in Album "Coffee @ MG Road"-palavattam in 2008 which was well received.His comic timing in movies like Pulival Kalyanam,Mayavi,Kilichundan Mampazham left the Audiences in full splits. The performance of Salim in Adaminte Makan Abu directed by debutante Salim Ahmed, won critical acclaim and fetched him the First national award. “Those days (early 1990s), I would get Rs250 per programme,” says Salim Kumar who, friends remember, survived with just a couple of shirts because he could not afford more. Subsequently, he was chosen as host for a comedy programme in a private Malayalam television channel. In 1997, his first breakthrough in cinema came with Ishtamanu Nooruvattam, a family drama directed by Sidhik Shameer. Salim Kumar fondly remembers that his friend and mimicry artiste Nadir Shah was instrumental in getting him the break in the movies.

He's known for being politically neutral and for taking care not to offend individuals or groups. Hey I just want to tell about my neighbor who is close to me. He shares all things with me.He is a Hindu Iyer guy and she is a Muslim girl. He is working in a college as lecturer and she too is working in the same college . They both are in love with each other for about 4 years. They did not tell about this to their friends itself.One day, boy and his family had gone to astrologer (personally I don't believe in astrology).That astrologer said that “ This guy is in love , he’ll marry only that girl.” Upto that time we didn't know he was in love.
