Nausea And Stomach Ache From Ritalin La

Is it normal for Ritalin to make someone's stomach hurt?

When I take Ritalin, it makes my stomach hurt extremely bad, I can't explain it but sometimes it takes about thirty minutes to a couple of hours for the pain to go away. Is this normal?

On a side note, yes, I take it with food every morning. So no, I don't take it on an empty stomach. I can't explain why it hurts so much but it does...

Ritalin LA 100mg - no effect?

Hi,

I have been on Ritalin for about six months, without any measurable effect other than a very dry mouth and facial skin. A few days ago, I stepped up from 80 to 100mg on Ritalin LA just to see if "it" were just a few mg's away. Nope!
I am a medical user, take only prescribed meds, no alcohol and no drugs other than the lunch' coffee.

I am not diagnosed with ADHD or ADD, but is medicated based on the same theory. I have serious concentration problems and have an increasing problem remembering and complete quite daily tasks. It's been a while since I filled the tub before i went in. I am bipolar, not the Hollywood-type, the one that kills. So I am already on stabilizers and anti-psycothics. I have quit all anti depressives. I sort of hoped for a bit of that in the Ritalin. This Ritalin mystery seems to be one of the weird ones. My pdoc asked me to experiment a bit, taking a day or two off, so I took about 5 days off to register contrasting effects, without any result.

Question: 100mg is not a small dose. What should I look for at this level? What can I expect? When you are sleepy, you lay down and flow with it. Is there a similar trick with Ritalin? I need to feel my brain, to make it DO stuff, I´m not after a fly-high sensation rush.

Why is it better to take Ritalin before meals and how long before them?

Sustained release stimulants are better taken with food to slow down the rate of absorption. The opposite is said for tablets, which should be taken on an empty stomach so that you don’t lose effectiveness (digested with the food).

Does Ritalin causes weight loss?

Sure. As a CNS stimulant, Ritalin amps up metabolism, and at the same time, suppresses appetite both of these processes kill fat cells throughout the body and cut down on your fat reserves. Not only that it's also a source of incredible ecstasy that helps with strenuous lifting in the gym. Combine that with a lowered hunger and a faster metabolism, and you’ve got yourself a near-mythical recipe for fat loss.Even though it's not approved as a weight loss pill, it's still widely used as one for the simple reason of being effective. But not without consequences.Ritalin is often prescribed to patients diagnosed with ADHD or narcolepsy, it enhances focus and alertness but in addition to that it has also been shown to improve cognition, productivity and work performance on mundane tasks. This drug seems like magic: a concoction that not only helps with losing weight but also makes you work harder, this is also one of the reasons that students take it during the exam season.Brace yourself for the bad news, Ritalin also brings with itself a plethora of unpleasant, often dangerous toxic effects ranging from blood pressure problems to tachycardia to priapism.what’s more, once you’re off the drug, your weight will return back to where you started. Conclusion: Yes it results in significant weight loss but you’ve to pay the price in the form of deteriorated health if you happen to use it.There are always pros and cons. Choose wisely.

Does methylphenidate (Concerta/Ritalin) cause anxiety?

I took a brief round of Ritalin when I was in college. I was taking twenty-two hours a semester, working thirty hours a week, and couldn’t concentrate. I have an anxiety issue (GAD) and Ritalin pushed it over the edge. I quit after one month; I had shaky hands, sweating, nausea- all the symptoms of a panic attack, just turned all the way up to eleven. When I was working on my second degree, I took Adderall with the same results. Turns out, I was misdiagnosed with ADHD. I was suffering from exhaustion!I had classmates who took Ritalin (some without a script for it), and had no issues with anxiety. They all said the same thing; it simply made them feel “up”, awake, and they felt honed in on whatever they were working on. They loved it.I’ve seen my husband’s son become a different child on Ritalin. It slowed down his incessant blathering, jumping up from homework twenty times an hour, and the inability to even watch a thirty minute show without interrupting to babble on about a totally unrelated topic. On Ritalin, he became calm but not dopey, able to converse sensibly, and could actually watch an entire movie! He had true ADHD, not just hyperactivity disorder, and Ritalin calmed him and gave him the ability to slow down and think, instead of acting on total impulse. He had no issues with it making him anxious.I got to see both sides. I saw him unmedicated frequently; his mother was about as dumb as a box of rocks, and thought he “needed a break from it” on the weekends. When he’d stay with us for more than a few days, though, she would send his Ritalin, and he was a totally different kid. He was more agitated and anxious without it! We could never explain “cumulative” to her. I’m sure she thought that was a word she’d read in “Fifty Shades Of Grey”. Seeing the difference in that kids made me realize that, for people with ADHD and no problems with anxiety, it works wonders, and has just the opposite effect- calming.I think, IMHO, if you have an existing anxiety disorder, it may trigger intense attacks, and almost all of the drugs for ADHD are extremely addictive, but depending on the severity of your ADHD, the trade off may be worth it. I’d suggest having a good discussion with your doctor before starting any of these medications.

How do you feel when you've taken too much Ritalin or Concerta?

I am very stupid, cannot articulate my emotions and sentences. Very immersed in myself while ignoring others. I have problems with falling asleep. Crash will be rude and not merciful. My limit of normal well-being is 54 mg, everything, what is higher than this, kills me.Regarding Ritalin… I used it two year ago, but it was not something very pleasant. I was thinking that 30–50 mg per once is okay, although this regime of intake had forced me to be depressed and suicidal. Then recovery took 1 year to recreate my imbalance of dopamine. Do not overdo your prescribed dosage, it is not something very good in the long-term.By the way, I am able to notice that methylphenidate somewhat impairs my working memory while giving me good focus. Despite non-FDA approved status of modafinil, I can assure you it is much better for working memory than methylphenidate. Of course, attention is not so highlighted with modafinil as I would like it to be.

What does the comedown from Ritalin feel like, as compared with the comedown with Adderall, Concerta, and cocaine?

Well ill tell you, stimulants have always been the substance I favoured; and I have substituted alot them to achieve the same feeling, amphetamines probly have the least amount of cravings and depression because it doesn't block the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine, cocaine sucks for sure because it hits you hard and fast, and all you can do is fiend; but Ritalin! Of all things, has the worst comedown i dread to go through.Since it is also a DN reuptake inhibitors like cocaine, it will leave you feeling very drained & unmotivated when it weres off; but its also 50% more potent yet longer lasting on blocking dopamine receptors then Cocaine; and if you have taken a realy high dose; the comedown will gradually set in and drag on forever. Which sucks alot, because if you won't only have to cope with cravings, but it will also leave you in a state of guilt, remorse and regret that will take you to a level of apathy I cant even describe. really you will feel alone, like a failure and everything you have achieved in life was waste you will lose. And this drags one. Ive smoked crack and found it less severe then hating life after a god damn ritalin bing

Why does Ritalin give me insomnia?

Ritalin, if you have ADHD or not, causes increased levels of intrasynaptic monamines in the brain. In order to sleep, monamine levels need to go down, which allows cells involved in starting and maintaining sleep to kick in. During the day, these sleep inducing cells , which mostly rely on another neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, are suppressed by increased monamine levels. Therefore, the ritalin needs to wear off in order to allow you to fall asleep . Sleep initiation can be a problem for people with ADHD, as they sometimes have trouble focusing on things, including focusing on falling asleep. Coaching, sleep hygiene and CBT can help. A different medication used for ADHD, clonidine, actually causes some sedation along with mild improvement in focus, so if medication is needed , it may be a consideration. Medications like Valium, Ativan, Xanax are a bad idea as they can be habit forming and interfere with focus and concentration. Good luck

Is it better to take Pepto-Bismol before meals or after meals?

If you’re taking the original Pepto-Bismol liquid for diarrhea, you may want to take it before and after you eat, depending on what’s happening. If you read the instructions on the label, it says to take 30mL (1 dose) every ½ hour or 60 mL (2 doses) every hour as needed for diarrhea/traveler’s diarrhea. The instructions say that you can take it with or without food.If you’re taking it for other symptoms, you use 30mL (1 dose) every ½ hour as needed for “overindulgence (upset stomach, heartburn, indigestion, nausea.)”The instruction adds you should not exceed 8 doses (240 mL) in 24 hours.Keep in mind that the original Pepto liquid is bismuth subsalicylate, which is a cousin to aspirin. So people with aspirin allergies or who are intolerant of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs shouldn’t take it at all. It’s also not recommended for kids under 12 years old.

What can cause a person to vomit white foam?

I think it is from nausea BEFORE you throw up. Your salivary glands start pumping out saliva and mucus starts flowing in your esophagus to protect it. YOur guts and oral cavity are preparing to be assaulted by strong acid. The white foam is all there is because you knew you were sick and didn’t eat. It’s the combination of saliva and mucus. Bon Appetite.
