My dog won't eat but needs to take her medication?
My little dog was bitten by a german shepherd and she has a pretty severe bite wound in her head. She has a draining tube sticking out of the entrance and exit wound. The problem is, in order to give her,her pain medication and antibiotic she needs to eat but won’t do so. It's the second day and I know her pain medication from yesterday has worn off, and she is obviously in pain (she’s constantly whining and panting). I don't know what to do. She needs her meds but won't eat and the vet clinic is closed today so I can't call them for help. Should i just attempt to give her the antibiotic and pain killer without food? Or will this just make her vomit it back up?

Take the hydrocodone with milk or at least a little food,, you must have a sensitive belly,,, the trammadol is no stronger than a tylenol,, it is as weak of a pain killer they make You should lay down and relax a little, get someone to help you with the little ones. If you are only talking about vicadin, which could be 5mg or 7.5mg or 10mg. They only really work about 4-5 hours and I would guess the Rx says 4x a day as needed. Maybe ask your doctor about oxycodone I take both hydrocodone and oxycodone every day thanks to a drunk PS coke use to have cocaine until the 1920's
Can orthopedic surgeons prescribe pain medication?
I went to my family doctor for back pain and he did a little test on me & said he saw "a slight curve" of my spine and said I might have scoliosis so he is referring me to an orthopedic specialist. He prescribed me Darvocet and flexeril for pain until my appointment at the orthopedic doctor. After about a week of taking the darvocet I found that it didnt work hardly at all so I called my doctor and asked for something stronger but he said no. I think he thinks that my pain isnt as bad as I am saying. So when I go to the orthopedic doctor, can and will he prescribe me something stronger? I am only 21 so I think everybody thinks Im faking the pain but Im not. Any suggestions?
Removal of stitches- best pain medication?
I had surgery last week for a metacarpal fracture. Tuesday the 30th, I'm supposed to have my stitches removed. Some of the stitches are just laying down and not sticking up. Are they going to have to dig in my skin to remove those stitches? What does it feel like? Are there any pain medication I can take? Would Advil help? I was prescribed with Oxycodene the first few days after the surgery to help my pain? Should I take that before they remove the stitches? How many hours in advanced?
Doctors gave me pain medicine and now i havent been able to pee for hours?
With morphine urine retentions is a normal side effect. If this continues into tomorrow I would contact the doctor or at least the pharamist.. Especially if you can not pass any urine at all. It is hurting due to the pressure in your bladder. You might also try skipping one dosage if the pain is not to terrible with out it. Have you been on pain medications before using something as strong as morphine.god bless ReggieR
Best medicine for Knee with severe arthritis?
I tore both ACLs in 2016 and have been in severe pain since. I went to the doctor yesterday to see if I can have my right knee ACL repaired and the doctor said it’s so much arthritis in my knee he doesn’t want to touch it out of fear of making it worse. He also said I already need two knee replacement in both knees but I’m only 26 so that’s out of the question. My question is what’s the best medicine for arthritis in knees? I can’t take the pain anymore I’m too young to hurt this much EVERYDAY. I’ve taken naproxen 500mg, Advil, diclofenac. Any none of those help. I want to ask my doctor for something but I’m afraid he will look at me as an addict. I don’t drink smoke anything but I just don’t want to be labeled. I just want this pain to go away!!!

No one here knows anything about your medical history, your health issues, or any other medications you should be on. Introducing medication to your system is a serious issue, one that needs to be discussed with a medical professional. Before you take the advice of anyone on a website, ask to see their degree. If they don’t have one, they shouldn’t be giving you medical advice. If they do have one, they need access to your patient history or they run the risk of losing their license due to malpractice.I know this answer isn’t particularly helpful, but it may save you a trip to the hospital because the pot you smoked had a negative interaction with another medication, and some idiot online decided that they know better than your doctor. Be smart, be safe.
What can be given to female dogs in heat for pain relief?
Im pretty sure dogs don't get menstrual cramps, they probably have general aches and pains due to fluctuations in hormones and they're less energetic sometimes meaning they feel more lethargic. Never give your dog OTC human painkillers, if you think she's in pain call your vet for advice. There's no harm in putting a hot water bottle in her bed, make sure its not too hot and wrap it in a fluffy towel. Dogs usually react to minor pain by self soothing but a little bit of heat should help with discomfort.
