How can I screw on my new labret stud when the ball is so tiny?

I've had my lip pierced since February, and all the answers I've found have to do with new piercings. My piercing has basically been heal for about five or six months. I got it done professionally in a shop where they gave me a over-sized 14g stud and then a smaller one for when it healed. The smaller one was fine, but eventually I lost the ball and ended up just buying a 16g CBR that I love and have had ever since. I bought a pack of 16g labret studs today and I'm so used to just popping my little bead into the ring that I can't screw on the tiny ball! What do I do?

What length stud to get for labret piercing?

It all depends on the thickness of your lip. If it's healed and isn't swollen, the average would be around 8mm. But some people have thicker lips and need a 10, some people have really thin lips and need a 6.

But generally, about an 8.

Where can I buy clear labret studs?

Thanks for the A2A! You can find the clear studs, called retainers, on Body Candy's website. Body Candy is a great site to get body jewelry in general. They have really good prices. Before you buy them do a Google search for coupon codes. There's always one, often for free shipping or a discount. Here's a handy link: Lip Retainer.

Is a monroe stud longer than a normal labret stud?

I want to get a lip stud for my lip. I have the right side pierced with a hoop in it. I used to have my labret pierced, but when I tried to put the labret stud in, it was too short because I have a large bottom lip.
Are monroe studs longer than labret studs? I just want to know so I can find a longer one to fit my lip.
If not, what kind of stud would I have to buy?
Please and thank you!!

Brand new labret piercing rubbing against gums?

I got my labret pierced yesterday and I noticed it's beginning to rub against my gums and I can already see a little bit of gum recession. I don't know what to do about it, I don't know if this is normal in the beginning stages of healing or not, but it's real irritating and it hurts :(

Please help. Should I go back to the piercing shop and change the stud, or what?

+++I dunno if this information is necessary, but just in case:
I have a 16g and the back piece is flat.

Is my new Lip Stud too tight?

uh duh. they give you the long lip ring because your lip will go through swelling stages for three weeks, like when your sleeping it gets bumped and pulled on a lot. your not suppose to change the ring for at least 3 to four weeks... it was a stupid idea to do so in the first place because the piercing is still fresh and is prone to getting infections this early. I suggest cleaning the long ring and cleaning your mouth and putting it back in yes it will get caught on your teeth but that's what piercings do from time to time. OR get an actual lip ring, Ive found that they are quite painful and dig into your lip a lot but at least it wont get caught on your teeth. right? :)

Give your piercings a week or so to heal.

Best of Luck :)

I want to get the labret piercing which is a lip piercing that goes just under the center of the bottom lip. Should I start out with a stud or a lip ring?

It depends on the type of labret piercing you want. I have a verticle labret piercing which is completely unsuitable for a lip ring, a ring wouldn't sit right on the piercing and would end up posing a risk of damage to the piercing.Excuse my spotty complexion. But this is my verticle labret piercing. In it I use a curved barbell. This is a great piercing I believe. It's not as common as other lip piercings, plus the whole of the piercing is external so poses no problem to teeth and gums. Here's a selection of some of the barbells I use, they are 16 gauge, I believe they are just the same as eyebrow bars.So yeah there's my 2 pennies worth on the verticle labret. It's a great piercing, and worth the pain. :D

Can i change my side labret lip piercing after a week?

You should not change it until it is fully healed. That could take a few weeks to a few months, depending on your health.
When you do change it, do a soak again like when you first had it pierced. Sterile Saline Solution is best to heal it up naturally!

What's the best way to put the ball back into a labret hoop ring? Mine's recently fallen out, and I'm constantly dropping it.

I can answer this question without any problem, BUT, what I really need to know is what kind of piercing you actually have. Is it a “true” Labret piercing or a lip piercing that is using a larger captive bead ring?True Labret piercing: If you have a Labret that has a captive bead on the front, it will also be known as a “doorknocker” or a “slave ring”. This is the labret piercing that I have personally worn since the early 2000’s. You have a labret stud through your skin that is pretty far below your actual lip. The ball on the post-the part of the piercing you actually see on your face, will have to be a specially ball. It is call a “dent/drilled” ball. It has the divots to hold the CBR as well as the threading to attach it to the bar through your skin. In this case, you will have a captive bead ring that is parallel to your face (people see a circle). If this is what you have, putting it back on is pretty straight forward. First, put the captive ring onto the dent drilled ball. Put the shaft of the labret stud through your skin. I would use a pair of hemostats to clamp onto the stud to keep it still and not allow it to slide back into your mouth. Once this is in place, all you have to do is screw the bead back onto the labret post. The bonus to doing it this way is that the ring will provide a handle. If you have a lip piercing that is just a larger CBR so you are calling it a labret, you will need a set of opener/closer jewelry clamps. Put the jewelry through your lip and squeeze the ring almost closed. With one hand hold the bead and with the other slip the bead in. Don’t open too much because the tension of the ring trying to close it what holds the bead in place.Using latex/nitrile or whatever kind of surgical gloves will always make this easier. As with any insertion or changing of jewelry, I recommend going to trained body piercer. If the piercing is totally healed, you can do it but the body piercer will have hundreds of times more experience and get it done in one try.Hope this was helpful.
