i actually have been corresponding with a guy i met on omegle for over a year now. we just talk about basic life stuff and culture differences (he's from england, im in the us). we don't know each others' last names or any details, we just chat and it's been fun. as long as you're not stupid about the information you give out, i don't see why it's a problem. if he wants to be facebook friends, make him give you his link first so you can check out his profile and see if he's legitimate. if it seems fishy, you don't have to friend him

You are safe unless they are law enforcement or have access to customer records from your internet provider. ISPs (internet service providers) will not give random people who call them your name and address. Your IP address, while it is technically possible to track to your door, is EXTREMELY difficult for the average person to accomplish. Also, how do you know they told you the correct IP address ? Most people do not know their own IP addresses unless they go to a site such as www.whatismyip.com . ALSO, even though they may have your IP, you can throw them off the track by saying "I'm stealing wireless from my neighbor." In that case, it would be your neighbor's IP address they are getting and not your actual location. For example, when I check www.whatismyip.com and then track that address, it shows up as the middle of my town rather than at my house. Thats a difference of nearly 7 miles which is ALOT of ground to cover in New York. Alot of apartments, and a shizz-load of people. What is the likelyhood that someone would be able to find me in a 7 square mile area? Well, lets calculate those odds. 49 miles x the number of people living within that area and only one lone person looking for me with no aid ? The odds are pretty dammed slim they will ever find me or even get close. Do I feel safe? Absolutely. Do I think that guy was full of crap? yep. Even if it did, there are millions of Internet porn sites and the chance that anyone would match them to you is very remote. Amanda had an evil stalker who will likely go to prison, but you do not have anything to worry about. Edit: Omegl's privacy policy states that logs are kept only for 15 minutes. You have the option of saving your logs, but only the texts, not your IP addresses. So nobody will know your name, or even your IP address, so the chances of anyone linking your pix and texts to you personally, is very remote. Brad is confusing Facebook with Omegle. There are no photos to take down on Omegle.
