Need Face Skin Advice What To Use

Facial advice (oily face and acne)?

I have oily and extremely sensitive skin like yours. I'm not sure about Dr. Wong Sulfur Soap, but I know for a fact that Cetaphil works great for oily skin and is the number one dermatologist recommended cleanser on the market. I'd suggest that you only Cetaphil (twice per day; morning and night).

For acne spots, I use concentrated tea tree oil. You can find small bottles at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Gently dip a Q-tip or cotton swab into the solution (warm Q-tip/cotton down slightly with warm water first) and apply it to the affected areas. Tea tree oil can have a powerful and lingering smell though, so be sure not to put on to much so as to provoke inflammation.

St. Ives's Apricot Scrub has walnut shells in it, which can scrape the skin. I prefer scrubs with smaller and gentler exfoliating beads. The Body Shop sells many of these for different skin types.

My most crucial tips:
1) Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day - this can really have a huge affect on your skin!
2) Don't pick at your skin, ever.
3) Avoid overly salty, spicy, and sweet food. After I went vegetarian my spots lessened considerably.
4) Natural products are bound to work better than others. Friends of mine who have used Proactiv and the like have had much more problems. Face washes I like include Cetaphil and anything sold at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

Girls i need your advice on facial, legs, pubic hair?

Not a girl, but know something about shaving...

First, shaving does NOT make hair grow thicker. It just appears to be thicker because hair gets worn down as it grows longer. But the hair will be the same thickness.

For the face, consider either bleaching it, or just leaving it if it is blonde. As long as it doesn't get too long or thick, leave it alone.

For your legs, use a regular razor

For the pubic area, don't shave more than once every 3 days, or you will get a lot of little cuts. Make sure the hair is trimmed close to the skin before shaving, and use lots of shaving cream. Try to use a multi-blade razor, and I have found the 3 blade ones to work best. Shave with the direction the hair grows, and use lotion on the area after you shave. Consider leaving a strip on your mound above your entrance, as that is the spot that tends to itch the most. If you don't shave there, you probably won't itch at all.'

Personally, I have found no reason to buy a fancy trimmer/shaver when a razor is easier to use, and more easy to move around to get into the crease of your leg/hip/crotch.

Beauty advice?

I'm fifteen.
I cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning. I have combination skin.
But I still get lots of blackheads and bumps in my skin.
I know being a teenager it's almost impossible to have clear skin but is there any products you will recommend?
I also heard that honey is a good face mask and I might try that today but I will see.
Also, I'm not sure if it's just because I'm a teenager but I shower everyday, shave my underarms regularly and I use a really good deoderant. I don't smell, but I just sweat a lot! Even in winter! It's embarrassing when I'm with people because you can see the sweatmarks on my clothes. Any tips?
Thanks.

I cleanse, moisturize, use face masks, essence, etc. Why do I have worse skin than a friend who doesn’t use any skincare products?

Maybe, you’re just overdoing it with all of the products. You didn’t specify in which ways your skin is “worse” What type/age of skin do you have? How many times a day do you perform your routine? My generic advice to you would be:Wash your face in the morning with just water, but use a mild facial soap to properly cleanse the pollution and dirt off it it before bed.Masks/exfoliants should be used twice weekly maximum, as doing them more can dry out or overstimulate the skin. Follow up with moisturizer for bed, & SPF every day before heading out.If you’re 25 or over, you can start using a retinoid cream to exfoliate with (still young, but it’ll help keep your skin nice in later years). ‘Til then , use a dry pumice stone or special abrasive face cloth with when you come to exfoliate. I personally think exfoliative “scrubs” can be a little harsh if you have sensitive skin.Only use tea tree oil or witch hazel as essences, maybe peppermint oil if your skin will let you. Ones like cinnamon, lavender, ginger, etc are irritants, and often come as oil-based mixes (a no-no for spot-prone skin). And who the hell suggested chilli in a face mask?

I have really good, smooth skin, until I put my foundation on. Advice?

I look after my skin. I wash it with warm water everyday, I have this face cream stuff which you use 1 or 2 times a week and it makes your skin really soft and exfoliates, and I put on moisturizer before I apply my make-up. I get a few small spots now and then, like most 15 year old does, but I have pretty good soft skin. But when I put on my foundation it just makes my skin look so dry and flakey. Then all of a sudden my skin looks bad. When it's not.
Any advice?
Don't say 'dont wear make-up'. Because I'll still wear it.
I just want to know how to make it look more natural. Because even though I wear my make-up quite naturally and I don't put on too much, you can easily tell I have foundation on.
With other girls their foundation just goes on so much better D:

My skin is peeling everywhere on my face?

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I believe it would be really beneficial for you to go see a dermatologist for some skin advice.

I would like to give you some input but seeing as I am not a skin-care specialist I don't know how valuable my advice would be.

I think you should try a better moisturizer. And I know this sounds icky but Vaseline works miracles in restoring ultimately dry skin. You can try that and see if it cures you of your symptoms. You might also want to try a better moisturizer that is made for dry skin. I recommend Neutrogena ultra-light moisturizer, because although it is ultra light, the content is suitable for sensitive skin such as yours.

Good luck! Skin problems always suck but I hope your skin heals just as you want it to. :)

What is your secret to glowing skin?

Believe it or not, when I was young I had this policy: “utility is more important than beauty”. But as I grew up and entered into high school, facing harsh realities of this world, I learned “both beauty and utility are of equal importance!”.So I started working on my skin…I used to look like thisPs: sorry the picture isn't clear…but I had one picture of me from that time period. So, back to the point…I started to follow a regular schedule/habit for my skin:Indeed, as said “drinking water regularly”Washing my face 3–4 times a day (can vary depending on skin type, I had oily, hence 3 to 4)Using the correct product to wash my skin. Since I had both oily _and_ dark skin. I went for something which had a minute quantity of tea tree oil in it. ( It will give you both glowing skin and also control the oil)Applied various home made facepacks to see which suited my skin the best and then continued to use them. (you can browse for them on the internet easily, though the ones containing gram flour are the best, in my opinion).Sleep is must for beautiful skin, 7–8 hours a day keeps blemishes, wrinkles and other skin problems awayLemon-yes, Lemon. The actual secret of my glowing skin is lemon (& that tea tree product, too). It just cuts the oil off my skin and de-toxifies it. I just can't stop praising it.Healthy food. One really needs to work on one's diet to have good skin. Food which compliments your skin is a must. (References to sources supporting this claim, and your other claims, are advised, per Quora's policy).Patience. I really had to have patience. You may not find any changes in one day or one week…. But if you keep trying…then surely you’ll get the skin that you want one day :)Makeup. I don't recommend makeup much. I do makeup only on special occasions. For everyday basis, I just apply a moisturizer which also acts as sunscreen, kajal (so that I don't look groggy) and a lip balm.Result:This is my present skin condition.PS: Just woke up (has been nearly hour or so) and took this picture for this answer.Edit: For pessimists, I used Redmi 3S. And for the girls or ladies out there, who think why my kajal isn't messed up, I used Colossal brand, which advertises minimum 16-hour retention. I applied it at night and clicked this pic the next morning, so there is less chance of smudging. Even if it does smudge little, I do have two working hands, which I can use to remove the excess kajal around my eyes. :p

My face looks dull. I want fairer and glowing skin. What should I do?

Tip for Glowing / Fairer SkinNatural glowing skin is the mark of a healthy person. We all try our best to attain this healthy glow but due to our busy schedules, we sometimes tend to ignore this. Also, smoking, drinking and unhealthy snacking result in various skin problems and dull skin. Here are some home beauty tips for glowing/fairer skin:- Tomatoes are the best source of anti-aging antioxidants lycopene. Eating any tomato based foods such as sauce or tomato juice can help improve the skin’s complexion.- Almonds help retain water in your body as dehydrated skin appears rough and wrinkly. Eating almonds soaked overnight or consuming almonds as they are is good for a healthy appearance.- Bananas are rich in vitamin A, B and E and hence work as an anti-aging agent. The fruit when mixed with honey gives an instant glow for your skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of mashed banana and ½ teaspoon of honey. Apply this mixture on your face and wash with lukewarm water after 15 minutes. Repeat this method once in two days for best results.- Yogurt when applied on the face can lighten blemishes and moles, make freckles disappear, kill acne on the face and lighten suntanned skin. You can prepare a nourishing facemask mixing 1 or 2 teaspoons of yogurt, and 3-5 drops of lemon or orange juice. This will give a natural clear, fair and glowing skin.- Cucumber promotes skin fairness. You can smash the cucumber into paste and apply it on the face. This vegetable contains elements that reduce the melanin and minimize the skin tan.- Lemon juice can work wonders on your skin. You can apply it any time for at least four to six weeks as often as possible for quicker results. This will help in lightening your skin.- Eating healthy and nutritious foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals such as salmon, almonds, spinach, berries, apples, carrots, walnuts and so on will keep your skin soft and smooth. It also improves the quality of your skin.- Drinking plenty of water daily keeps the skin hydrated and plump. Water helps to flush the toxins from the body and keeps your skin clear.
