Need Help Answering Essay Questions On Gender Differences In Communication

Can someone help me with this essay question regarding gender?

the simple logic behind this behavior is, the primary or instinctual motive of human beings to survive. men want to impregnate as many mates possible for survival of his blood line so they are more casual about it. but women are not since she can carry only one mate's child and she has to chose her mate more carefully so her children can be strong enough to survive. if a woman is having sex with another male, the other would get angry or jealous since it would mean that the other male is better than him. this is the same reason why women are harder to be read by men since she can not afford to give away her assessment of a partner to another. this is the based upon primitive instinctual behavior and most agreed up on explanation.

How do cultural and gender differences affect communication in the classroom and impact student learning?

I wonder if the questioner is distinctly aware of the definitions of gender and sex. Sex defines the biological differences between male or female, while gender is used to describe masculine and feminine behavior. Big difference. So, going by the true definition of gender, I would say there is definitely an impact in schools. Males are more often praised by teachers for speaking out, acting confident, and demonstrating opinion, while females are often praised for being quiet, studious, and polite. Males are pressured into fulfilling the ideal role of masculinity by becoming aggressive, ambitious, and driven. Females are pressured into fulfilling an ideal role of femininity by seeking to become supportive, enthusiastic, and sexually attractive.

The gender differences between males and females are the result of people being socialized and taught to fulfill them by their family and society around them. Institutions, such as school, enforce and help sustain these gender roles. Ex: Private schools requiring females to wear skirts, and boys pants.

Cultural differences (save for potential language barriers) shouldn't be a problem. In my opinion cultural differences would affect a student body positively, because it enables students to grasp the idea that there are other visions and interpretations of the world other than their own.

It's a very subjective question, so you should just form your own opinion about it and then take off. Do you think differences in behaviors between males and females affects the learning environment positively, negatively, or both? Do you think differences in culture affect the learning environment positively, negatively, or both? In your essay (I assume that's what you're writing) you should define the terms: gender and culture, and give reference to a source.

Hope that helped a little, if any. Good luck writing!

Discussion questions about gender roles in our society .?

The thing is, not every girl is suited to eventually become a breadwinner, just as not every girl is suited to be a homemaker. It's the same with the boys. If we ignore the economic fact that almost everyone has to work now, I think we just need to learn to accept that different people work in different ways. Some families might work best with one or the other staying at home, some might need both parents to work at least part-time to keep everyone happy. I don't know if the world will be _better_. There's still going to be wars and pollution and death. People will still have no idea what they want, and adding options sometimes does make people freeze. I think most, though, would be happier if they could choose the life they are best suited for. The problem that women are having with the career/family thing is that we don't have a support system or a male population that does its chores. If more men helped more at home, and more companies offered flextime and daycare, career women would be much happier.

Help needed badly with essay writing?

The way the question is worded, you disregard the obvious differences through nature (such as strenghh, height, motor skills) but concentrate on other influences that keep inequality between the genders to this day alive.

In your example, the workplace, i would choose a workfield, such as education/healthcare/construction/engine... etc, and explore how the differences in the perceived roles of men and women (there is a classic example, why do we still say men first??) impact on the advancement and encouragement each of the genders receive within this sector.

Historically, women have been associated with the "caring professions", men with the "manual, more academically challenging professions". I come from an industrial background and i can tell you from personal experience that women have to work twice as hard as men in order to achieve the same level of respect. Likewise, i am taken aback when i encounter a male nurse or (heaven forbid) midwife.

As for the structure of the essay, i would first of all give an overview of how the social development of the society has historically portrayed men versus women. Then i would move on to giving examples of workplaces that are predominantly male, female and lastly i would give a summary and explanation to my own findings as to why these differences have persisted for this long and probably will do for many generations to come.

What's a good way to answer essay questions about how you would contribute to an institution's diversity, without seeming too trivial or pretentious?

If you are preparing to interview for a senior executive position, from company president to police commissioner, your answer is going to have to be different from the one you'd give if you were aspiring to be a student, or an officer in a student organization. If you were looking to become a corporate or academic recruiter, it would be different than if you were hoping to lead a performing arts organization. But consider at least these elements:What are the benefits of diversity that you would use to sell the organization? What are the benefits of being a nontraditional employee/student in the organization? What sorts of influence can you be reasonably certain of having? How much and what kinds of opposition and support are you likely to encounter? What is the organization's reputation in each of the communities from which you would hope to draw? What is the institution's history of previous efforts, and why? Your history, and why?How credible are you likely to be with the communities of employees and students who are often at the heart of successful efforts to bring others of their category into the organization? What channels of communication can you authoritatively cite as means to reach out? Those are a few topics worth considering. Finally, I would not suggest answering in a way that makes it appear you are trying to skirt the question. ("There are many definitions of diversity. Some are easier to achieve than others.") That's a freshman essay trick and it is not going to work on the sort of reader you are likely to have. Compare that with "(Name of organization) was criticized by community leaders as recently as last week as having 'a monochromatic board of directors and a monoculture when it came to faculty/administration/management.' As (name of role) I will work with the board to recruit ..." You can see how much the specifics depend on the circumstances.

What is the main differences between the GRE writing issue task and argument task?

Thanks for the A2A!First of all, the GRE test consist of an Analytical Writing Assessment(AWA) Section divided into an Issue Task and an Argument Task of 30 minutes each. Majority students fail to score well just because they are ignorant of the fact that there is a huge difference between the two.GRE does not test your ability to write a lengthy essay on the given topic within the given time frame. It checks how well are you able to provide opinions on an Issue and validate the authenticity of the Argument without providing any opinion.Issue Essay tests your ability to convince the reader to agree with your point of view while the Argument Task effectively critiques the argument by providing proof. In an Issue Task, your job is to simply choose a side, stick to it and present it suitably. It focuses on Critical thinking and Reasoning skills . It asks you to discuss your level of agreement with a particular statement and provides possible scenarios that might strengthen or weaken the argument. It isn't about a right or wrong answer since the essay graders only focus on how well you present your case and support your opinion. On the contrary, the 'Analyze an Argument' task presents a case with his supporting evidence in the form of paragraph and your job is to check the soundness of this argument. The flaws in the argument must be identified and how his conclusion overlooks these flaws. The flaws must be stated with explanations and proof. Conclusion in both the tasks is very important. In an Issue task, it involves agreeing with opposing viewpoint to show your emotional maturity level. An Argument task is concluded on a note of doubt which claims that argument may have valid points but is deprived of plausible explanation and requires more proof to be valid. All in all ,show off your communication and writing skills ,avoid common spelling mistakes. Practice well and it won't be tough to touch a 4 in this prompt. All the best !

Can anyone help me pick a Sociology essay topic?

You sound like you really want an answer. I like that. First of all, you can write all the essays you like, but check the grammar.

" I was thinking to write about the affects gender inequality..."

'Affect is the action, effect is the result'

How about, " My idea for an essay is to study the effects of gender inequality and how it affects both men and women"

Well, does it? I would be most curious to see what you can write about that statement. The topic is intersting. Do you believe there is a gender inequality? Are you referring to the glass ceiling theory or the blatant bias where men pay to participate in dating services when women get in free?

Are you talking about Sally who is not allowed on the school's boy's hockey team?

I would be interested in reading what you come up with....email me a draft hiraid@yahoo.com
