Need Help Dealing With A Virus Possibly On My Computer

Is it possible for a computer virus to go away by itself?

If the messages were coming from your antivirus, it's possible that your antivirus fixed it.

If you were getting these messages while visiting a particular website, it's possible that the messages were just an "ad" trying to get you to actually download a virus, and your computer was never really infected.

You might be able to look at the log in your antivirus program to see whay happened. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, you may want to get it checked out anyway. The one thing you do NOT want is a virus that tries to be invisible and then sends all your passwords and credit card data to someone.

Can a virus really make a computer overheat?

As an aside from the other answers relating to “standard” PCs, one recent virus that aimed at destruction via a similar mechanism was the Stuxnet virus. This was a very sophisticated virus that propagated through a variety of unknown approaches, apparently looking for a very specific piece of hardware to deliver its “coup de grace”. This piece of hardware was not a common piece, and so for some time security analysts were not sure what its final purpose was.Testing on the virus eventually turned up a positive match for its potential target: a Siemens industrial controller. Its use? In nuclear fuel enrichment facilities, specifically in Iran (!). It had the potential to override safety mechanisms in the centrifuges there, which would have led to the destruction of the devices. The longer story is available here: The Real Story of StuxnetWhile we don’t all have nuclear centrifuges in our houses (speaking for myself, at least), we do have an increasing numbers of computerised and “connected” home appliances. Many of these have heating coils, designed to heat items up - and they have digital thermostats. The heating controls for your home - are they digital yet? Convenient, isn’t it, you can turn on the central heating or air conditioning on your way home? Wifi coffee machine? Brilliant, set up a task on your phone to turn it on as you are showering or going to work! Internet toaster? …This is where the current set of danger lies - not all of these items will be designed with security in mind. Your PC, phone, antivirus get updates weekly, daily even. When was the last security update your central heating got? If they are online, they are a liability - if someone can gain access to your Internet toaster, maybe they can override the heating limits to make it heat up beyond the safety limits - could it become red hot and melt the plastic? Will something catch on fire? Do you come back from your day at work to a burnt-out shell with the fire department telling you “it was a faulty toaster”?This should usually be prevented by mechanical safety limits, but all it takes is one faulty design (Galaxy Note 7, anyone?) and suddenly we may be paying for our convenience with a lot more than we thought…

Something unexpected popped up. Possibly a virus.?

Hello

Today i downloaded some files that i shouldn't have.
It was filled with adware and trojans.
Which downloaded more viruses.
I used many anti viruses but the one that did the trick was Unhackme.
I thought everything was fine until i saw this in my processes in task manager called 3525237.exe and the description was Fireball. Just fireball.
I tried to search it up but nothing was written about it.
Please help me i am scared since my pc is new and really expensive.

Thanks for any help

PS: before you start saying : ' You shouldn't have downloaded those files ' or ' You are an idiot for downloading suspicious stuff '.
I know but i learned from it and i will never download any sketchy links.

Can a virus affect your computer while it's turned off?

A computer virus is composed of computer instructions. As with any other program, it can only execute on a running, powered-up processor. It will remain inert until the computer is turned on. On a modern computer (using dynamic RAM, as opposed to, say, magnetic core memory), it could not persist in memory when the computer is off, but would have to be re-loaded from non-volatile storage such as a hard drive, SD card, or (rarely) motherboard firmware. However, modern computers are not always that simple. A server system might have a management system which can run when the main CPUs are halted, and that is itself a computer which can host malware. It is still a computer, and still needs power, so if the server is disconnected from all power sources, that will be off, too.

'your computer is infected' red shield, white X virus?

YOU HAVE ANTIVIRUS 2009 A rogue Anti-Spyware/Virus

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.
4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Is it possible to install antivirus on an external hard disk?

Yes Of course you can. Or if you don’t want to install but need antivirus in HDD, go for portable installers. I’m giving a list here.https://www.geckoandfly.com/1000...

Svchost.exe possibly a virus?

Its not a virus. Probably.

Try doing this. (If is is a virus the system will not want that to run the system.)

Press (Alt + Ctrl + Del) and get the task manager.

Try to find the particular name that is Svchost.exe in process tab. After finding the running process select it and right click and select "End process" if your system reboots or stop running or if some dialog box appear as shutting down in some seconds don't worry its not a virus.

If the system has no respond yeah it is a virus.

Try using Nod32 5 as your virus guard. Its the best and what is recommend.

Is it possible for someone to remotely control my phone?

Of course. Basically if someone knows your password they can remotely control your phone through some tricks on terminal on computers, such as opening/closing apps, jamming off your wifi. Even more, they can turn on/off your volume, make them say things…check this outHaving fun on April 1st with SSH. Although these commands cannot access your information, they are easy to access by people with some hacking knowledge.

Possible browser hijack...help please....?

It sounds like you have a redirector Trojan, which basically does exactly what is happening to you by hijacking your browser and taking you to other sites. Without knowing specifically which one, manual removal is a little harder to figure out. Since you can't download a new anti-virus program directly onto your computer, try downloading one on a non-infected computer (ask a friend or family member), put it on a USB drive, and try to transfer it to your computer and install it from the USB drive. If you don't have a USB drive, try to find someone from whom you can borrow one.

If the problem is malware that is running in your processes, you can try opening your Task Manager and stopping the virus's process there. Some of these processes are vital to your computer's function, so if you don't know what they are or what they do, run a quick Google search on each one to see if it may be viral. It might temporarily stop the redirection long enough to download a different program to get rid of the problem.

It's not much, but hope it helps.
