Is there someone who understands both Turkish and English?

When I come to think about it, of my surroundings I, my sister, her close friend, many of my good friends speak English perfectly and some of the people I listed are better than I. There are millions of Turks who live in America, Canada, England. And equally there are millions over in Europe. There are millions of Turks who are bilingual in German and Turkish for instance, I see them everywhere and even I have many relatives like that including my own mother. Once I read somewhere, Turks as they immigrate to better countries and as our language is not with an obvious accent like the throat sound in Arabic or French we can easily adapt to German or English accent and we are people with little to no accent when speaking foreign languages. And we are highly successful at foreign languages as long as we live abroad, in Turkey foreign language education is crappy.

How do you know if a Turkish man is serious in a relationship?

If a Turkish man is in a real relationship with someone, that he cares about, you can understand. You can put yourself on a silver platter and offer to him and he doesn’t even flinch. At least it is like that with people in my generation. I personally never two-timed women and never understood how some men are capable of doing this. Also none of my friends have that cheating mode in their system. But this should not be taken as Turkish men are fools and I can wrap them around my finger and play them as much as I want. When they get the feeling that they are being taken advantage of, they go away, without you realizing what happened. Loyalty is what has been thought to us by our parents, especially mothers, whom we respect. But we expect the same loyalty from our partners.

How do I say thank you in Turkish?

In order of formality from formal to coloquial:Thank you: Teşekkür ederim - Tae-shack-cure eddie-rimThanks: Teşekkürler - Tae-shack-cure-lairThank you: Sağol - Ssaah-oleThank you very much: Çok teşekkür ederim - Choke Tae-shack-cure eddie-rimThanks a lot: Çok teşekkürler - Choke Tae-shack-cure-lairNote that all of my suggested pronunciations will immediately reveal you as the hopeless clueless foreigner that you are. :) But they should be easiest to remember. Also, one last one:Allah razı olsun: Al-lah rah-zuh ole-soon'Sağol' is probably the most secular, and 'allah razı olsun' is the most religious.

Why can people who live in Hungary speak German?

Well, that depends a lot on the Hungarian person in question. Not all Hungarians speak German.Hungary has historically speaking strong ties with Austria. In Austria, they speak what Austrians call German. Because of this, German is still taught in Hungarian schools. Apart from that, Germany is the strongest economy in the EU which can make learning German a smart choice.I once met a student from Hungary who was absolutely fluent in (Austrian) German because she lived in Austria for 2 years (her sister had moved there). She later went on a school exchange in Germany (and started crying when she couldn’t understand my grandparents. We needed quite some time to convince her that her German is indeed almost flawless and that my grandparents are just not able to speak proper Standard German). She works in Austria now. Knowing the language has make it so much easier for her to find a job there after university.
