I need help choosing a topic for my research paper!?
The paper is for my Research Methods and Stats class. I have to pick a topic; really any question, and turn it into a hypothesis. I would then conduct research and different tests to prove my hypothesis by determining dependent and independent variables etc. For example, one of my classmates is studying "Can obesity be treated with medication?' - in which they hypothesize that obesity cannot be treated with medication. I just need to pick a topic similar to that! Please help!

Choosing topic for a research paper?
Hi I am not sure what topic to choose for the following guidelines. Your dilemma is that you have to make a painful medical decision and to explain, in writing, who benefits from what you decided, who gets denied a needed benefit, and why. Need help choosing a good topic on an earth science project?
You could do a report on the relationship between hardening a surface and stormwater runoff, showing that increased hardening increases runoff therefore increasing erosion and contributing yet more sediment to our waters killing the base of our food chain. Not that I am bitter or anything. lol. You could also do a report on the effects of riparian (rivers and streams) vegetation as an erosion control measure for riparian systems. I did a project on this in college for my soils and geomorphology class. It was actually very interesting.
I need help choosing an Extended Essay topic for Chemistry IB, any ideas?
What school do you go to? You could research the medical practices of the school you are going to, or a school close to you. I don't know what kind of equipment you have access to, are you a Chemistry major? I have always thought that stem cell research was fascinating, and that is definitely medical related. If you wanted, you could go the forensics route, it's not necessarily medical, but it does require some knowledge of human anatomy and such. I think the medical field most closely connected to chemistry is definitely Pharmaceuticals, but I am not sure how you would carry out experiments on that one (please don't use yourself). You could do research on how the chemicals in the environment (pollutants) are affecting our health, and the research that is being done to help. I hope this gives you some ideas. I will be believing for you to do well on your essay.
