How can I use WhatsApp on iPad without a phone?

If you had This App before and it was registered on the phone number that you have now, you can use the App, same goes with all messenger apps such as Telegram, Viber, imo. Just type in the phone number and yoou will recieve an SMS with a code, type in that code and all your converstions and contacts will be there. If you are new to these Apps You will need to install these Apps to you phone, register your number and then install them on your iPad.You can also use someones phone for this. Ask them to exit their acount on their phone, put in your simcard and register the App. Do not allow the app acces to contacts, or you will have contacts of a person whose phone you are using.

Can my school track my internet usage?

Whenever you use WiFi, the administrator of the WiFi router that you’re connected to is able to see all of the traffic between your system and the Internet. If you’re using an “https:” address (the ‘s’ means ‘secure’) then they won’t be able to see what data is going back and forth - but they will know which websites you contacted. For email and “http:” (no ‘s’) web sites, there is no security - they can see everything. That’s true for home, school, Internet cafe’s…anywhere that you connect to via WiFi - and anywhere you connect to with wired Ethernet. That’s the capability. It doesn’t mean that they’d actually do that - and it says nothing about what that information might be used for. It would take a lot of man-power to sort through all of that data and make sense of it - so it’s most likely that such a person/organization would do one of three things:Store everything - but only look at it if there is a problem (eg if the Police get a warrant to search it).Monitor all traffic - but only alert an actual person if web sites on a particular ‘black list’ (like well-known porn sites for example) were to be accessed.Use some kind of key-word search system to alert a human if particular words or combinations of words are used. But to be clear, they could be doing any of those things - all of those things - or nothing at all.For cellular data, it’s also fairly easy for the phone company to monitor all of your data as well as know where it came from and went to. As far as I can tell, they store your call and internet browsing address data for a long time - and store the actual text of SMS messages for about a week before erasing it.I would expect that if they were monitoring your traffic, they’d make some kind of a privacy statement to tell you what they are doing. But that could easily be buried deep inside a 20 page ‘click through’ license that you didn’t bother to read.

In those schools that use tablets, what are the experiences they report? Is it worth it to use iPads in elementary schools?

iPads are being used widely in school nowadays as both students and teachers are experiencing a better digital learning environment. Students are enjoying their study with iPads because it also entertains them. iPad in schools is very exciting and an excellent way of using technology in the classroom. After all, some of the most advanced technology for reading, learning, and communicating is literally at our fingertips. However, merely providing iPad to every student can't determine all are entirely focused. A teacher always focused on their students about their learning process so that whatever they are explaining to them should be clearly understood by their students. Through iPad, they can download the educational app and describe accordingly. A simple way to make them learn better and yes it's worth to use iPads in elementary schools. Using iPads in earlier age can make children more smart and strong. But sometimes iPads might distract students mind from the study like they are playing games, watching videos. When the iPad is present in their hand, they are very much addicted to unnecessary games, apps, videos which later harm their study productivity. For that, you can deploy various iOS MDM solution like MobiLock to secure and lock the iPad for study purpose only so that students won't be able to access any other stuff except study material. For more information check this blog : Benefits of Lockdown iPad in the Classroom

How to get on netflix on school laptop?

so last year my school gave out laptops, and I was able to go on netlfix during class AND BEFORE YOU START SAYING "you don't need to be on netflix pay attention in class" I passed last year with high grades (and now am in advanced classes) while just sitting and watching netflix because my school literally teaches things i learned in 6th grade.
Now I got my laptop for this year and it doesn't even let me on netflix at home...HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KETCH UP ON GREYS ANATOMY?

So if anyone knows the best way to get on a website blocked by the district without having to download anything or needing administration please let me know!

if you can list multiple ways just in case one doesn't work that would be much appreciated.

Kindle Fire Vs. iPad?

Hello bllrmdncr, I think that laptop is much more functional but much heavier and bulkier to take with you on the go, and the same goes for iPad. However, often reported problems with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc. Amazon's own web site has hundreds of reviews (almost 2000 already) of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews and over 1,000 of 3-star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device.
Consider Nook Tablet is much better without a doubt, it's a class above Kindle Fire. All pro reviewers on the web clearly voiced that Nook Tablet is a much better device with superior performance compared to Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (no lamination on very reflective Fire screen), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies than on Fire, microSD slot and a microphone for Skype (not on Fire), physical volume controls on the side (not on Fire), very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load (unlike on Fire).
One pro review on the subject:
PCWORLD:
The Nook Tablet's unique display has less reflectivity than the Kindle Fire's, and so is easier to read. In addition, some fonts and videos render more sharply on it than on the Fire. The dual-core 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP 4 CPU and 1GB of RAM made switching from app to app a breeze, with little lag or stuttering. Movies played smoothly and stutter-free in Netflix, and the high-definition images re-rendered for Nook's 1024-by-600-pixel display looked lovely, with terrific contrast.
The Nook Tablet's display was dazzling overall. The screen's glare was minimal, thanks to what Barnes & Noble calls its VividView display. The IPS display is laminated and bonded; so unlike on other tablets's displays--including the Kindle Fire's--there's no annoying, visible air gap between the glass screen and the LCD beneath. The Nook Tablet's home screen is highly customizable and provides quick access to apps and reading material.

How to get around parental Internet block?

Ever since junior year started I have been swamped with homework and studying. I'm a serious student, I take all AP classes and get straight As, will be going to a top-notch school, one of the top 25 nationally ranked. My high school is one of the top 100 in the country.

My parents, especially my dad, don't trust me AT ALL this year. To keep from going insane I use my computer to talk to my friends, right, like any normal person would. It's not excessive or anything, but they keep saying it's taking over my life since I stay up so late.

He has this program called Cisco Connect, and he has parental controls on it so that my desktop computer's Internet and wifi goes out at midnight. This is REALLY AGGRAVATING because I can't get all my homework done by then. I tell him that it's causing me to not finish my homework but he doesn't trust me or listen. He is the reason I didn't get straight As this quarter.

At this point I'm really pissed off, my parents are causing my grades to suffer because they think I'm on "social sites" all the time. I'll be on Facebook for a few minutes (literally, a few) and he comes in and completely flips out, making a whole bunch of accusations and getting angry.

HOW DO I GET MY INTERNET BACK?! Even if it's just wifi for my iPod, I need SOMETHING. I refuse to continue letting them ruin my track record and damage my chances at college acceptance.

THANK YOU!

(We have Comcast as a provider...And, if he just shut off the Internet COMPLETELY, as in not just for my computer and wireless devices, is it still possible to get my Internet back?)

Why would my child's school not allow the kids who qualify for free lunch (because of poverty) to bring home the iPad that the children were given to use (5th grade)? Does this happen in your child's school?

Oh, lord.TeacherWife regaled me with tales of the shambling disaster that was “Free iPads” for her school.I could carry on at length, but the summary is that essentially, Apple dropped off crates of iPads, but there was no budget or provision for the massively expanded IT support necessary to manage or maintain them. Suddenly, an IT department that was configured to support a couple hundred teachers found itself having to support a little less than 10,000 student devices.Comedy and chaos ensued. With respect to the economically disadvantaged kids, the biggest problems weren’t that the devices would disappear, but that they would come back completely uncharged, and therefore not usable for the day’s lessons. The other big problem in the early years before the IT dept expanded and got its act together to lock the image down was that in the case of the poor kids, it was usually the most competent network device in the house, and so consequently, all sorts of stuff would be installed onto them, ranging from benign to entirely heinous. It’s also worth noting that after this program has been in place for 5+ years, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to justify obtaining actual books.Which reminds me, School Textbooks are another example of how rent seeking behavior in a closed and manipulated market results in drastically inflated prices, but that’s a lesson for a different day.
