Need Help Picking What Car To Purchase

I'm looking to buy a used car, need help picking one?

I don't really know that much about cars. I'm looking to buy a used car, but I don't know what kind to get. It needs to be $10,000 or less and no older that 2000.

I want something that looks nice with some horsepower. But I also need it to be good on gas and safe. I don't care if it's 2 or 4 door.

Any suggestions?

2.5L vs 3.2L Engine? And Picking out car.?

Lets start by saying that I know very little about cars. I try to get by talking about cars with friends and family on what I know and I've put up a decent act so far. However, I'm about to purchase a car and this is where I need help.
My friends say "Oh that's a 3.2, you should get a 2.5" I know they're talking about the engine. What I'm wondering is; does a 2.5 use less gas per mile than a 3.2? That's the first assumption I had.
And while I'm here, I'll ask a few more questions.
I'm looking at the Mazda 6i. It's a sports sedan. I'm one of those people that care about how good my car looks and how sleek it is, but I do not want a car that has very poor gas mileage. I will give up looks on a car with better mileage,
Anyways, question 1. Will a sports sedan be classed as a sports car by insurance?
2. I'm looking at the Mazda 6i, Hyundai Sonata, Ford Focus, Ford Fusion and the Cadillac CTS. I know the CTS will probably be the worst choice, but which car will be the best in terms of gas, lowest price and looks?
3. What are some other sleeks sedan that has good mileage?

How can I get help to buy used cars?

Buying a used car can be daunting for anyone. As far as purchasing directly from an individual – it can save you money, but it can be risky because there are no warranty or guarantees. Buying a used vehicle from a quality dealership can be a little more reassuring, and many certified pre-owned vehicles come with a warranty; you just might pay a little more. If you want a good deal, you have to do your research. Nada gives the industry standard for car value, but you can also get an estimated value from Kelley Blue Book. When you come across a car you’re interested in buying, first check the Carfax report. Many cars serviced at a dealership will have service records that will appear in some capacity on the Carfax. We also strongly suggest getting the car checked out by a professional mechanic before handing over any cash.Basically, you have to be able to know when or when not to trust the seller. One of the best ways to test if there are any potential problems with a car is to see how much the owner trusts it. We recommend you tell your potential seller that you live at least 30 minutes away from them, so you can meet in the middle at a neutral and safe public location (like a shopping center parking lot) and get the owner to drive the car long enough for it to warm up. This will let you know 2 things: A) if the car is drivable, and B) if the car has any leaks. If the owner isn’t willing to drive the car a short distance, that’s typically a red flag. Also, always test drive the car. Any seller who isn’t willing to let you behind the wheel (with them in the car) is hiding something. We actually just covered this topic in one of our recent articles, Five Tips for Buying (and Selling) a Used Car, if you need more help. My husband is upset because I purchased a new car, when he expressed his want for a new car before me. He thinks I should've helped him purchase his car before buying my own. Is he right?

If you went and bought a car without even speaking to your husband, you guys have a serious communication issue. I do not know how you guys handle your finances, but major purchases should be discussed so that you guys can budget. It doesn’t matter who makes more. People say that finances is what destroys most marriages. I would disagree. It is lack of respect and consideration for the other partner in the marriage that destroys the relationship long before the collections people start calling.Your husband expressed a desire to purchase a new car. Is something wrong with his car? Who has the older car? Is there a problem with either car? Have you both even looked at finances before deciding to buy a car? If he “needs help” to buy his car, I’m going to assume joint finances.I don’t know you personally, but you both need to have some serious conversations and probably get some marriage counseling. Your lack of communication and MUTUAL consideration doesn’t bode well for your marriage. As the husband, I’m always going to make sure my wife has a safe and reliable car to drive. That’s me in “protector” mode. Set a budget and stick to it. Set a limit on purchases that you guys can make without at least consulting each other. It comes down to RESPECT.

Help picking a dehumidifier for Houston 2-car garage...?

I need help selecting the proper sized portable dehumidifier (i.e. sold at Walmart, Home Depot, etc.) for a 2-car attached garage in Houston, Texas (high humidity levels).

The garage is approximately 20ftx24ftx10ft. No windows. Two single 8ftx7ft non-insulated steel garage doors. No venting of any kind. Sheetrock on walls and ceiling, but no insulation.

The garage gets quite hot in the summers here and I've noticed that many of my lower-quality tools are covered in rust now from several years.

Based on the above information, what kind of dehumidifier should I be looking for?

New driver buying a used car (2015)?

I’m female 21 and am considering buying my first car. I don’t have a license yet but have driven a car before with a parent & feel pretty confident with my driving. I’m really considering buying a Used Honda Civic 2015 I’ve come across at a dealer the only problem is that everyone I ask advice from tells me I shouldn’t be going for such a brand new car because “I’m going to wreck it”. So here’s my question do u think a 2015 used car is too new of a car for a new driver & Did u wreck your first car?

Lkq pick your part?

You need to call them and discuss it. Parts of some cars are much more valuable than others, so what they will sell the whole vehicle for is variable.

Most of the cars in the yard will be part stripped already, but if you tell them what you want they may have one come in, and just put the whole thing aside for you. Of course it's likely that it will be accident damaged or have mechanical problems. Thats the reason it was scrapped to start with.

But assuming you want a "project car" / demo derby / parts to rebuild another vehicle they are generally will to haggle, as long as they can make a profit on the deal.
