Need Help Reviewing For My History Exam

Grade 10 Canadian History Exam Review Questions... HELP!?!?

lol. i have the exam tomorrow..
thats a lot of questions. but oh well.. this will help me with my studying

according to my history book, it says there were more than 60 000 Canadians killed in ww1.
conscription crisis was started by prime minister Robert Borden. he declared the conscription bill, when he found out that there were a lot of soldiers dying and they needed more soldiers. what the conscription bill does is that, all men that are able to fight MUST go to war.

the famous five were 5 women who helped achieve equal rights to women in the government
the persons case was the case that allowed women to have equal rights. (not too sure about that one)

the battle of Britain occurred in 1940. it was when the German troops invaded Britain. They attacked Britain but Canadian pilots and the other Allies countries helped them win, although many people died.

not sure about appeasement..

the Suez crisis occurred in 1956 when Egypt's president decided to take over the Suez canal from British and French control. The canal was an important trade route in the east as ships would travel around the area. As a result, Britain and France attacked Egypt. The soviet Union (Russians) threatened to send missiles to support Egypt. But, the United States also warned that they would step in if the Soviet Union interfered. in the end, Canadian, Lester B. Pearson convinced the United Nations to set up a United Nations Emergency Force which would stop the crisis and ceasefire.

the official languages act was passed in 1969. it declared that English and french were the official language of Canada.

- hope i helped on you on something. it took me really long looking for the info and typing them.
and good luck on your exam :)

How do I get a 5 on the AP world history exam?

I can not stress this enough. AP World History is super easy if you just study right! As others have said read the rubric and their notes on key ideas. Memorize all of that and try and attach it to other facts from your textbook. It is almost eerie how the same wording from the College Board course description would be on their test. Most importantly focus on the transitions between the eras in history. Focus on what stayed the same and what changed between eras (technology, trade, power, religion, etc). When I took the test I came in with a ton of facts which I thought would help me get a good score. Turns out that it was my study of the transitions and big ideas that got my a 5. The multiple choice section is ridiculously easy mostly conceptual. You need to get yourself to the point where you know the qualities of each time period so well that when faced with a multiple choice question about something you dont know you can think about what was going on and find the most plausible answer.Example: if we are talking about ancient Egypt do you think they were teaming up with the Ottomans to take over Russia or finding new methods of agriculture? Only one of those makes sense when you know the big ideas of that era. Also in the free response section just write something. Even if you don’t know what you are talking about/doing just write. It works sometimes. Some good links:Site with a bunch of resources. Pay attention to the cram packets. They are literally gold. Better than most review books.Course Description (page 44–111)More cram packetsThere is another site with highlights of needed information for a bunch of main ideas… Unfortunately I cant for the life of me find it!Also I thought I should share my timeline of world history. It should give you a basic idea of what was going on in each area of the world during each era. Each horizontal grey section represents a major time period. Enjoy!Disclaimer: I am just a kid. I made this in a couple hours just for myself. It is not meant to be published. Please understand there will be glaring spelling and content errors. Sorry!

How do I pass AP world history exam with one day of studying?

Rome wasn't built in a day either. What makes you think you can understand it in just one?

Tomorrow, you'll be history too.

How do you study for a huge history exam?

It could depend upon what kind of learner you are. Do you prefer pictures and images, hearing things you're learning, or hands-on? If you're visual, you could make yourself little drawings of concepts.. Like my son remembered some facts about "William Penn" by drawing a PEN that was writing the fact, and the pen looked like a person, whose name was William! If you like listening, you could read the information you need to know into a recorder, then listen to it at bedtime each night (you retain more if you study and THEN go to sleep>> Your brain processes what you've studied while you sleep). When I was in school, I did very well by reading my notes over every night before bed.. I never had to cram for an exam! :-D If you're a hands-on learner, you can pace and read aloud, or write answers in huge letters on a blackboard, or use any other method that includes body movement. Hope that helps! IF you want to know more about learning styles and different ways to study for each style, there is a free course at:
