Need Help Staying Calm.

How do you stay calm in a fencing bout?

Last year I had a huge problem of freaking out on the strip and then that'd make my actions MASSIVE. So what I do now, I literally just retreat WAY out of distance, shake my left hand somewhat violently (as to erase the metaphorical 'etch-a-sketch' in my mind), and take one controlled deep breath (in through my nose and out through my mouth) After that I've gotten myself to calm down then I advance back in with a plan in mind... good luck:]

Help staying calm in an argument?

Okay, so yesterday, I had gotten a new game, and I wanted to play it some more today. Household rules are no video games until after 8 on sundays, so I patiently waited all day. 8 o clock, I start up the XBox, and my dad comes in and says "I'm using the TV". He wanted to watch a show, and I asked why he couldn't just watch it upstairs on the TV in his bedroom. His answer? "Because. Besides I already told you earlier that I was going to use it. Give me the remote." I tried to tell him that I didn't remember him telling me, but he just kept saying "Give me the remote" I threw it on the carpet, angry that he wouldn't listen to me at all, and he just started shouting at me for braking it, when all that happened was that one battery fell out. I tried to stay calm, but I did raise my voice. He stomped upstairs and after a few minutes I went upstairs and said "Sorry" as calmly and politely as I could. He ignored me and I turned around just going to go downstairs for a little bit longer then try again. He decided to then say "Are you talking to me?" Well that just pushed me over the edge. I did get mad and say "Who else would I be talking to!? and began to cry. Now I'm grounded from my new game for a week, and my dad came back downstairs and won't stop talking to me. I try to tell him that I need to be alone and calm down, but he just says that I'm being rude. I need help on how to keep my temper, and what to do if something like this happens again! I hate people being mad at me, especially one of my own parents!

How do CEOs stay calm?

A German philosopher named Friedrich Nietzsche once said:That which does not kill us makes us stronger. In other words - CEOs grow a thick skin over time. When a major problem happens, you have to options - suck it up and find a solution of the problem, or give up. Most CEOs would rather grind than get back to a regular 9-to-5 job, especially the entrepreneurial kind.In 1519, a Spanish explorer and conquistador Hernán Cortés pursued the treasures of the Aztecs with 11 ships and a crew of 100 sailors and 500 soldiers. His army was vastly outnumbered and some soldiers tried to escape. Cortés gave an order to burn the ships and left no choice but fight until their last breath.Which wasn’t the end for everyone as part of the army survived and they got a hold of the treasure. At first, calmness is a myth. People are emotional by nature and react to any deviations of their plan. With time, those who choose to be in the captain’s spot until the end see problems that have to be sold and suppress the emotional part that is dragging them down.Plenty of problems appear to be critical, but at the end, they should be solved.Lost a client? Go out and start selling.Broken feature in the product? Get the tech team on it and release a fix.Constant regressions from the core team? Talk to the CTO and figure out what’s the long-term sustainable strategy.Have to work late night for a proposal? Suck it up, make it happen, see if there’s a way to offload that or how to mitigate last-minute changes later on.The role of a CEO isn’t easy in the first place. Constant changes and surprises are not abnormal and at some point, they become a daily routine. If being a CEO is among your highest priorities, work hard and make it work. If you are constantly complaining about lack of sleep, no time for family or friends, failing to see the future ahead, figure out a long-term solution within the business, find a replacement of yours or simply go back to a regular 9-to-5 and disregard all responsibilities.

What are some tips for staying calm during or before an exam?

Are you nervous because you don't know the material ("rationally nervous") or just because it's an exam ("irrationally nervous")?If you are rationally nervous, treat the test as a puzzle - how can you figure out the answer from information contained in the question itself and from whatever you do remember? In college I rarely studied in any depth because I learned early on that you could learn a small set of fundamental principles and facts and use those to reason to the answer - and would often get a great grade for "truly understanding the concepts".If you're irrationally nervous, realize that when your test is graded, there's a good chance that the student whose exam was graded before yours will have done much worse! The professor is going to look at your exam and be excited and happy that you did so well! Even if you miss some questions - it's okay, everyone misses some questions! My father once told me that when he went to defend his PhD thesis, he was really nervous until after about 5 minutes he realized that he knew far more about the topic than anyone else in the room. After that it was a breeze. Remember that at your exam, you probably know more about the topic than most people in the room. Also, take care of yourself physically. Exercise the morning of the test. Eat well - not too heavy or light and nothing that might irritate your stomach. And get there early. If you're really nervous, get there really early and bring nothing to do. If you're sitting there with nothing to do for 45 minutes, your nervousness will give way to boredom, and by the time the test starts, you'll be very excited to have something to do and will put a great effort into the test.

How to stay calm all the time?

When im with the one person who Ive known my whole life and trust her with my life and soul, or in very rare times that i feel 100% safe mentally; I get very calm and content. I feel like I could take anything and still be calm. I'm very relaxed, and sure of myself. I laugh and smile sincerely, and feel beautiful.
I know this is my real personality because I use to always be like this, until I started going to school and was constantly insulted and socially outcasted for petty things. It toke a huge toll me and it became hard to be so calm and content. I developed a fake personality for school and it was so good that even i thought it was my personality for years. But it's the opposite from what I am at the heart and it's hard to brekck the habit of acting like that.
I really what to return to how I was, but it's really hard, mostly because I'm so scared of What people think that I instantly switch to to a loud cheerful and hyper person.
I know that I'm kinda ranting instead of asking but, I basically need to know how to calm down in front of others and be myself.

Thanks ahead of time

How do I stay calm during a maths test?

Get a sleep of at least 5 hours because you really need high focus and concentration . If the exam is of great importance then start maintaining a habit of sleeping 6–8 hours a week before examination .Sleep inertia typically lasts 15-30 minutes, but can last as long as 4 hours. So try to wake up 3–4 hours before the examination. In the morning you can go through some formulas but don’t try to mug those whom you have not seen for a long time because it may create some great confusion in the examination. Many times it happens that in the starting of examination our speed is slow in solving problems even if they are easy which kills your time badly , one of the best way to avoid this situation is to collect some questions(5–6 questions) in the night and solve it in the morning before leaving for exam , the problems should be easy because the only purpose of solving it is to get some speed not to check your concepts.Sometimes we get tough problems in the starting of the Exam due to which we loose our confidence . If you are facing this situation then always remember that the Question level is same for every student and the purpose of the Exam is not only to check your concepts but to check your nerves during the Exam too. Don’t loose focus at any point of time.Always remember that your goal isn’t achieving 100% marks( if the paper is not a cakewalk), so don’t worry about the mistakes you do , just focus on the questions ahead. Be calm and confident , take a deep breath and don’t think too much . Meditation in the morning may help .After the exam analyse the paper try to figure out the reasons mistakes you do (if there is any) in the exam like loosing concentration , poor concepts bad time management and note it down and go through it while you solving maths at home and before leaving for the next maths Examination so that you don’t repeat it in the next .NOTE - Most of the points might not be applicable if you are an extraordinary student. For more information on sleep inertia visit the link -12 Facts About Sleep Inertia | Valley Sleep Center: Sleep Studies, Sleep Doctors, Phoenix, ArizonaHope it helps.Good Luck!!
