Need Help With Some Algrebra

I need help on some algebra math, please?

Slope-intercept form is y=mx + b
In this equation,
b = the y-intercept of the line
m = the slope of the line

Therefore, the slope of y = 2x + 2 is 2.
A line parallel to this line will have the same slope of 2.

Therefore, plug in the values of x and y given to you.
They gave you (x,y) = (2, -5)
x = 2 and y = -5

You know the slope, value of x, and value of y. Yet, you don't know the y-intercept (b).
Therefore, plug in your known values to find the value of b.

-5 = 2(2) + b
-5 = 4 + b
b = -9

Now that you know b, write your equation.

y = 2x - 9

You're done!

I need help on some algebra problems?

let x= smaller #
let x + 2 = larger #

x+2 + 3x = 234
4x = 232
x = 58

the two even numbers are 58 and 60

let x = smaller #
let x+2 = larger #

x + 3(x+2) = 330
x + 3x + 6 = 330
4x = 324
x = 81

the two even numbers are 81 and 83

I need some algebra help please!!!!!?

I really need help on some Algebra 1>>?

I'm really stuck on this problem.
Directions: A line passes through the given points. Write and equation for the line in point-slope form. Then rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form.
Points: (0.2, 1.1) (7, 3)

All I get is the slope, and the first equation. But solving it to slope-intercept form is confusing.
Please help.

IN CASE YOU FORGOT THE POINT-SLOPE FORM:
(y-y1)=m(x-x1) m= slope

THANKS SO MUCH!

Need help with some algebra word problems?

I'm really bad with word problems. Please help me with solving these, so I can check my answer to see if I'm actually even doing these right.

It takes Kay 20 minutes to drive to work traveling 45 mph. two minutes after she left home this morning, her husband, Dan, started out with her briefcase which she had forgotten. If Dan arrived at Kay's office just as she did, how fast did he drive?

Some Algebra Problems, need help please?

1) Express 2.34 as a quotient of two integers.

2) Express 2/9 as a terminating or repeasting decimal. (i know its .2 repeating but how do you get that?)

3) Express 0.05 (repeating) as a fraction in simplest form.

Just Need some help on some algebra homework?

I would first subtract the $1.50 from the $22.50. This would give me $21.00. The original price is $14,00 because adding .50 of that which is $7.00 would give you a total of $21.00

Need a little help on some algebra 1H math homework?

Here are the problems i don't get:

11.) Kevin Sims bought a car for $12,000. A year later it was worth $9,000. What was the percent of decrease in value?
(please describe all steps taken)

6.) 5/6 (x-1) - 2/3 (2x + 1) = 3

7.) 1/x-1 + 1 = 2

16. c) write in scientific notation..

NOTE: PLEASE EXPLAIN ALL THE STEPS YOU TOOK TO SOLVE IT, GIVING ME THE ANSWER DOESN'T HELP ME LEARN IT.! thnxx(:

Do you need to be good in algebra to be an accountant?

Well in the college that I attend it is a requirement for my major to take at least 2 calculus or algebra based classes and I imagine other colleges do the same, so the short answer is yes. Will you use algebra equations to analyze financial statements and to calculate depreciation well... no. However by taking algebra and calculus your critical thinking and problem solving skills are sharpened which are necessary skills to have as an accountant.

I need help on how to understand algebraic rule of an equation?

To find the rule:Step 1:  Find slope, m, using formula for slope: (Y-y)/(X-x).Take 2 points,(0,0) & (20,10) and plug them into formula: (10-0)/(20-0)=10/20 = 1/2Step 2: Find b , using formula y = mx+bTake m=1/2 and one point, (0,0) and put them in formula:0 = 1/2(0) + b --> 0 = bSo b= 0, m= 1/2.  Plug these into y=mx+b. y = (1/2)x     THAT IS THE RULE. ---Fill in the table:For the first y value solve y = (1/2)(-4) --> y = -2For the next x value solve 5 = (1/2)x      --> x = 10You try the rest....If you have trouble comment.  x should always be twice y.
