Need Motorcycle Buying Help

Do I need a motorcycle license to buy a motorcycle?

Quite tragically, no you do not. I suppose that’s a good thing if you want to buy a bike as a gift for someone (husband/wife, etc), but as Rider Coaches, my husband and I have seen our share of people who get a spot in the Basic Rider Course through the dealership when they purchase a bike (BEFORE learning to ride), many times, even if they pass the course, they are not capable of riding that bike home. In some cases, they realize they don’t want to ride at all after the class, or they don’t pass the course. Now they have a shiny, brand new motorcycle and can’t or won’t ride it.Learn first, THEN buy.LT

I need help buying Ray Ban sunglasses for motorcycle use?

I completely agree with Tim D.

Aside from having your Ray Bans behind your face shield; in the event of a collision or just going down, you want to have eye protection that is listed as "Shatter Proof".

Picture the ugly part of this; small glass shards in your eye(s) that a Dr. can't even see to try to remove them.

There are a lot of choices out there for tinted eye ware.

How old do you have to be to buy a motorcycle by yourself in Missouri? I cant find the answer anywhere =[

Buying a bike is like signing a contract. You must be 18 for it to be legally binding. Be prepared to withstand your parents' reaction, though. Decide which is more important to you.
Good luck, and be patient.

Do you need a motorcycle license and insurance to buy a bike from a dealership?

NO you don't need anything at all .UNLESS you are getting a loan from a bank for the bike then you will need to get insurance .but if you are paying cash for the bike then it's up to you..I had three bikes i bought cash from dealers..they were used trade-ins..but i had bikes for years before ever getting my license..YOU DON'T NEED A LICENSE TO BUY ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE..the only time you need a license is if you are driving it on the road.even at that ..i drove my bikes for a few years before getting my license .it was a chance i was taking. but i had insurance on my bike incase i would have hit someone and hurt them..

PLEASE HELP! Should I buy a newer car or a motorcycle?

First off, I love riding motorcycles, however, I just sold my bike for $5,000 and I have a little extra saved up (I only sold it because I was offered $5,000 and only paid $4,100 a year ago. I have an older (2003) SUV that is fairly reliable but just out of style. My options are buying a newer, nicer car now and getting another motorcycle in the next year or so. Or I can get another motorcycle now, keep my 2003 SUV and get a newer car in the next year or so. I literally am stuck and would appreciate any feedback. Thanks and God bless.

What is the process of buying a used motorcycle from craigslist (California)?

So what is the process. I just finished my MSF course, and plan to buy a ninja 250.

What do I need from the seller?
1. Bike (Inspect for obvious damage, sprocket, chain, to make sure its not loose, shocks, alignment, and wheels)
2. Title (how to check if its a clean title?) Have them sign as seller, and me as buyer?
3. Registration?
4. Notify DMV after they give me the title within 5 days, and pay for new registration?
5. Buy motorcycle insurance online for my new bike?

Is there anything else I am missing? I am new to this..ANY help would be great!!

Can I buy a motorcycle in Illinois if I don't have a motorcycle license?

I'm 16 years old. In Illinois, to obtain your motorcycle license, you need to pass the MSF course and then:
- if you are over 18, simply go in and receive your license.
- if you are under 18, you need to retake the road test at the DMV before you can get your license.

I don't have my license yet. In order to get my license, I need to purchase a bike and insure it and then use that one in order to take the test, or I have to rent someone else's bike for the test ( I don't know anyone else who rides that can loan me their bike for the test). So, I was wondering, am I able to have my mother purchase (and receive the title) and insure the bike even though neither of us have a M class? We both have driver's licenses. I would also be buying the motorcycle privately, so it would not be from a dealership. I would just like your feedback on if it is legal to receive the title and insure the motorcycle in either my name or my mom's name even though we don't have M class licenses.
Thanks
