Name a sound (landform)?
Puget (pronounced pew-jit) Sound in Washington (the state). If you really want to impress your teacher, you could use Øresund, a Scandinavian sound. The original in fact. A sound, by the way, is defined by wikipedia as "A large sea or ocean inlet larger than a bay, deeper than a bight, wider than a fjord. Also it may identify a narrow sea or ocean channel between two bodies of land."

Need names for my story?
When writing a story there are certain names that are best suitable for a particular characters and others that are not. There are various factors that also affect the names you choose for a story. Say your story takes place during the 1700s in India, Buffy or Randy may not be the appropriate names to best convey the setting and time frame of your story. When dealing with characters positions in the story (antagonist/protagonist), names also play an important role. Surely a villain named Harvey would not convey the same influence of say a Klaus or Renfield. While a hero named Otis might be more suitable for a victim of "happenstance" who "ForrestGumps" his way into a heroic situation. Since you are specifically looking for male names, you need to ask your self about the character's personality. Is he a tough guy? Is he a geek? Is he a jock? Does he come from privilege? Some names carry more personality in these respects than others. Tough Guy names Butch Frank Mike (not Michael) Jock names Bobby Randal - comes from privilege John The scholastic guys names Allan Doug Peter Harvey Stewart the above names are not necessarily restricted to my limited grouping, but simply used to illustrate what I'm saying. A good source for names in relation to time is the Social Security's website for popular names for a particular year (1880-Present). Remember when choosing a name for a character to pick the name from the approximate time the character would be born and not the time the story takes place (unless you're writing a story about the birth of your character). I've included a site below that elaborates more on this as well as provides some names you might find useful. the Social security name search site is also included. I hope these resources are helpful in the success of your story.

What should I name my band?
The etymology of band names is something of relative fascination for most musicians and fans.In most cases, band names have a specific meaning or relevance to the band members themselves - ABBA, for instance, is a palindromic acronym formed from the initials of the first names of the band members (Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid). With the band Imagine Dragons on the other hand, the background behind the name is a secret known only to the band members; although they have released that the name is actually an anagram made from the letters of different words, the origin words are stil unknown. There are of course instances of band names having no specific meaning or importance to the band. Aerosmith was just a name invented by the band’s drummer Joey Kramer and Blur was selected from a list of names offered by the label after the band was signed and forced to change their name. You mention “a rock/funk foursome” - so possibly using a play on that description - Funk4Fire - or even creating your own portmanteau by combining or blending words - Funkversation (like a funky conversation) will lead you to your new band name.
