Opinions of the name Kodiak (Kody)???
Ok so i know a lot of people may hate it but i need opinions...My fiance and I were discusing baby names (we are ttc) and the only male name he likes is Kodiak!!! He is a wildlife biologist and LOVES bears. He even has a native american symbol of a bear tatoo! I know the name is really different but do you think its really bad! He would go by Kody for short...i really like Kody...but i can't imagine Kodiak would go over well with classmates! Is there another name that Kody could be a nickname for? I also dont know any adults with the name Kody so i would like to find another longer name that Kody could be a nickname for...any ideas? We have some really cute girls names picked out...so i'm just hoping for all girls haha! But i know he really wants a son... Any advice would be great!!!

What if North Dakota and South Dakota merged into one "Dakota"?
We’d have 49 states.The combined state would have a population of around 1.6 million. So the resulting state would have the population that was the same as about Idaho. The new state — I’ll call it Dakota - would have a capitol, probably in Bismarck or Pierre. They’d have to figure out what to do with the other city, or at least the government buildings. They’d also need to sort out which state was the true predecessor for things like court rulings and laws (so which state’s laws were now applicable to the whole state).We’d have 98 senators instead of 100. In the Senate, there are currently 2 Republicans from SD and 1 Democrat and 1 Republican from ND. I’d imagine Dakota would have 2 Republicans, but that’s just a guess. Dakota would have two representatives in Congress, just like it does now. So the combined state would have 4 electoral votes, instead of 3+3 now. These states are solidly Republican, so it would likely mean 2 less electoral votes for the Republicans. There’d be only one governor, of course, and they’d need to figure out how to draw districts for the state senate and house. The state court systems would need to be consolidated, and Dakota would have to decide which supreme court (ND or SD) was now the true supreme court. It would also need to decide if it would use ND or SD tax rates, or a mixture.For people who didn’t live in Dakota, there likely would not be much of an impact. Flag companies would do brisk business selling 49 star flags. Companies that made US puzzle maps would do well. Companies that sold stuff to state governments would now only have 49 potential customers, but one customer would be a bit larger than before. But most people would simply wonder why they wanted to merge.The state university systems would be merged, but the campuses would probably stay intact, albeit with new names. “Northern Dakota” instead of “North Dakota” for instance.
I need help deciding a middle name for a girl named dakota?
I really like the name dakota but i can't think of a cute middle name. I also like the names Bailey, and Brighton but people have said they are boy names. What do you think? I just need a cute girl first and middle. Any Suggestion? Please Help!

Dear, do some research before you choose a name just because you think its oh so cute. By slapping this sacred Native American name on your kid you've disrespected an entire culture in one question. Need a show name for Dakota please and thank you!?
Well in my last show I realized that all the other horses had very fancy names on the loudspeaker. Such as "God of Fire" (blah gag me on that name, no offense) and even one horse "Twilight Eclipse". And then when the announcer called Dakota's name it was just "Dakota". Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Dakota's name (it's so timeless and horsey like ha) but I just felt so out of place. So I was thinking for my next show (which I am hoping will be this September) I could use a show name. I was thinking of "Kodak Moment" because it has the word "Koda" in it (my nickname for her) and I even thought of Daddy's Money (that one is self-explanatory, even though I don't own her :D) so which one do you like? Any suggestions? If it helps any we do dressage but until next year we will be competing in English Pleasure as there are no more dressage shows around us this year. Thanks so much!

To keep in compliance with Y!A guidelines, my answer to your question is that there are no good middle names to go with Dakota. EDIT Others have mentioned the possibility of bullying but I doubt that would happen since the person with the name of Dakota is the one who is DOING the bullying by trashing a tribal name. And, yes, contact your own tribe for suitable names instead of hijacking another tribe's name.
