Need Tranquilizer Dart Facts For My Story

Need Tranquilizer Dart Facts for my Story?

I'm writing a story about these three 21-year-old crime fighting men who are protecting an 18-year-old girl that one of them loves. One part in the story, the girl gets shot by a tranquilizer dart because she was mistaken as a monster (the bad guys are trying to capture five monsters so they can get back to their planet, and get supplies to destroy the earth) and I need to know the effects of a tranquilizer dart hitting the girl. Also, what would happen if someone pulled it out three minutes later? And how long would she be asleep? The dart she's hit with is like the ones they use in the movies to knock someone out.

How quick does a tranquilizer act on an animal?

When I was in Malaysia, I went to a wildlife zoo place thing to be in close proximity with a number of animals. I was looking at the zoo's cage for emus and cassowaries, both very aggressive birds (though not tigers), a zoo keeper told me a short story about transferring these volatile creatures from one place to another:  They tend not to use tranquilizers. Tranquilizers are not a magical method in safely subduing an animal, they work by use of drugs, and there is a fine line between "just enough" to "drop-dead lethal". Even in a controlled environment where nobody is in danger (though the keeper did say there is a risk to handlers), keepers would prefer not to use tranquilizers even if the option is available because it could put the animal in serious danger. There is just no "just right" dose as it varies between animal to animal even to the same species, so while I'm not sure what other emergency procedures can be taken, using tranquilizers is not unlike shooting the animal and hope it doesn't bleed out.

Can I keep a gorilla as a pet?

It depends on where you live, in the US, there are states where it is legal to have a gorilla as a pet, often a license and special permit is required. However, I think this is more of a case of “just because you can, it doesn't mean you should” kind of question. Gorillas are huge, weighing over 400 pounds, gorillas are roughly 6 times as strong as a strong human and they live to be some 60 years.Gorillas need very careful handling , a silverback gorilla has the strength to break a humans back with a single swipe of its arm. Silverback leaders, when threatened are know to fight to the death.A gorilla’s bite has been recorded to reach the strength of 1300 pounds per square inch, stronger than a lion bite (650 PSI) and stronger than a great white shark bite (625 PSI).When a gorilla escapes from a zoo, standard procedure is to call for a SWAT team armed with tranquilizer darts - (A zookeeper in Buffalo, N.Y., who was bitten by a gorilla last spring)Gorillas are wild animals, not domesticated in the slightest - you are better off getting a dog of some kind - perhaps a large one like a Great Dane or Neapolitan Mastiff

What's an example of a government/police department not enforcing a gun law, choosing not to prosecute a criminal who used a gun in a crime?

Here's one example of how the law is ineffective when it comes to making the punishment fit the crime. I've told this example before. Here's a news story about the crime. http://m.theindependent.com/news...You can see that I share a name with one of the criminals. He is my son. Unfortunately, he is an adult and chose not to inform me of any of this until it was all over, but I feel this would have gone differently had he taken advantage of my ability to hire a decent lawyer. The fact that outcomes in court are often dependant on the skills and personal connections of your lawyer is part of the problem. The facts in the story are correct except that the gun was not stolen, it was personal property of Mr. Christen. I do not personally know him but have met miss Brown and was not impressed. Anyway, you can see from the story that the case had started to go wrong right from the beginning. Why is the judge reducing the bail and being lenient with two violent robbers and throwing the book at the getaway driver? The whole case went that way. End results were Adamson was sentenced under felony robbery charges with 3 to 5 years in the state penitentiary. He ended up serving just over two years. The people who threatened another human being with a gun? No jail time at all. Ask yourself if that makes any sense at all? Three to five for driving a car, when the potential killers get off scott free? Seriously, we need to fix that before we start talking about new gun laws. People who threaten other human beings with a gun should automatically get at least five years. Please note, it is very hard for me to tell this story, but by son is recovering from this. He admits responsibility for what he did and is now in a much more positive place, contributing to society. He's been corrected. The other two? Not so much. They are still engaging in criminal activity and drugs.

In the movie Inception, What did Saito want from fischer?

The movie is very mind bending... I had to watch it 3 times just to figure out the ending and even ended up "Googling" it just to find out that there were no concrete answers whether the ending was a Dream or Reality... Anyways, I was so into the ending that I forgot the basic story. I just want to know what Saito want from fishcer. There was this thing about a global superpower with total dominance of the energy marketplace... So what if they Dominate it?.. is it a bad thing for anyone else other than Saito or Saito was just selfish and he just wants Fisher's company to fail...

P.S
It would be very much appreciated also if you could tell me if the ending was a Dream or Reality based on facts of course...
