Netherlands. Here are a few reasons why:1. Netherlands do not rely on one person to win them Matches. Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie, Kuyt. These four together are essentially stronger than the whole Argentine Team combined and are certainly capable of destabilizing the Argentine Defence.2. With Di Maria out, Argentines do have a moral disadvantage going into the Next game which the Dutch are quite capable of Exploiting.3. Messi is in good form but it would be preposterous to assume that Van Gaal won't have a strategy ready for him. Man is a Strateging Genius, Arguably.4. Argentines have merely come through on Mediocre performances against even more Mediocre Teams. Lets all be fair, Iran hardly had any chance to qualify at all.5. Argentina are so far, yet to click as a single unit something which the Dutch have done repeatedly. Even against the Costa Ricans, four of their shots hit the post and two clear chances were missed.6. Dutch may not have the best defence in the world but they certainly do Not have a mediocre one and with Messi cornered the Chances of Argentina are well, not Great.But then again, It is the Game of Football. Strategically, On paper, with performance thus far and player-by-player comparison, the Dutch are way ahead of the Argentines.

After the 1st semi-final, the match sure looked boring(Atleast for the first 90 minutes). Make no mistake, this does not say anything about the quality of the football played. It just says that both teams sat back and waited for the other to make the first move and this obviously required top notch defending from both the sides. Argentina defended very well. Mascherano was brilliant. Netherlands did not even have a shot on target till the 99th minute. Trust me, not allowing an attack like Van Persie, Sneijder and Robben to even take a shot at goal for almost 100 minutes is commendable.Argentina missed Di Maria. Except for Messi, almost no one was able to provide good chances. Also, no one provided to Messi. Earlier, Di Maria took charge of both of these duties.Netherlands contained Messi well. You have to give that to them. Lionel Messi did not touch the ball in the penalty area during the 120 minutes.De Jong was almost man-marking him the entire time he was there. Germany, even if they win it, are not going to have it easy if Argentina defend this well. Also, if Di Maria plays the final and Messi finds his deadly form back, Argentina might well cross the line.

They did get the 4 th penalty but it wouldn't have made any difference even if they scored 5th penalty kick.In penalty shootout both sides get 5 chance to score the penalty.So Argentina scored all and nederland missed 2 Ned ArgVlaar (saved) Messi(scored)Robben(scored) Garay(scored)Sneijder(saved) Aguero(scored)Kuyt(scored) Rodriguez(scored)So even if Ned scored last penalty and Argentina didn't the final scoreline would be like-3-4 which means argentina up by a goal and they win.

Its very difficult to decide,yes Netherlands has better chance then Mexico because they have Robben who is in form and exceptionally good for counter attacking football.Good things for Netherlands is that Van Persie will be playing after completing his suspension.But comparing this match with the match between Chile and Netherlands is difficult.Chile was playing too attacking and possession based football because Netherlands needed only draw to avoid Brazil(Superior goal difference) and Chile needed at least win to get the first position in the group.I think match will be decide on the performance of Mexican goalkeeper and Netherlands Forward.If Mexico adapt the tactics so that they can take Netherlands to penalty shoot-out,then it is very difficult to say who will win.I think Netherlands will try to use the tactics they played against Spain in second half where they created lots of chances.Whatever will be result this year world cup is more exciting than 2010.World cup is won by that team who will defend very well and score when get opportunity and all teams have shown their deficiency in defending.
