What are the best current technologies for collaborative learning?

The best free apps I've found for collaborative learning is:http://padlet.com Basically a pinboard which anybody can add stuff to. Downside: you can't add drawings to it but it's really easy to use - share the link, users double click and add text/images/links.http://spiral.ac/r/f Classroom apps for specficially designed for collaborative learning. Users answer, responses are displayed on the board which everybody can view and comment on. They're displayed anonymously, which encourages everybody to answer.http://explaineverything.com Imagine being able to collaborate on an animated presentation. You can record these presentations for screencasts and also record voiceovers to narrate them. Anybody with a device can add to it. Disclaimer: I'm not paid commission etc. if you sign up to these apps. These are my own opinions.

What is the best online whiteboard?

The best online whiteboard should feel like a real whiteboard. It should be easy to use, never slow your ideas down, and should handle lots of people using it at the same time.Across my career, it's always been important to get my teams brainstorming together at a whiteboard. As the teams became remote and more distributed, real whiteboards were no longer an option. I tried dozens of the online whiteboard tools, but none of them cut it as a real whiteboard replacement. That's why we made Limnu.Limnu is designed for visual brainstorming for distributed teams. Other tools can be slow and complicated, slowing your team down. Limnu is fast, easy to use, and scales well for large groups. It really shines when you're drawing with multiple people all at once.Check out the Limnu blog to see some of the ways it can help you.

What online whiteboard is the best for math tutoring?

UPDATE: I now use and recommend Bitpaper as the best whiteboard for online math tutoring. I like having Scribblar as a back-up though.Scribblar is by far the best online whiteboard for math tutoring. With Scribblar I create “rooms” for each of my students. The “room” is a whiteboard with a unique link that has pen, highlighter, eraser, and text tools to name a few. The student and I can both see what the other is writing in real time. Here are a few of my favorite features that make Scribblar stand out from the crowd:(1) An equation editor.(2) Easy uploads of jpgs and pdfs. (Usually I have the student text or email me their assignment, and then I upload it into Scribblar.)(3) Multiple pages! You can have as many pages as you’d like in each room, and since math problems can take up a lot of room, this is super helpful.(4) Unique links for each room. This makes it easy for each student as they just have to go to the link of their unique room at the time of our session.(5) A feature to export PDFs of the session notes so students can have a copy of the notes after each session.Scribblar tends to be the favorite for most online math tutors. They offer a free 14-day trial. After that, plans start at $14/month.For more information about tech tools for online math tutors, check out The Top 5 Tools for the Online Math Tutor.
