New Septum Piercing Is Kind Of Itchy

New septum piercing is kind of itchy?

I got mine done just after I turned 15 and I needed the option of flipping it so they did it pretty high up and it's in through the cartilage. It hurt a little and itched a couple times, I also forgot it was there a lot. It's been almost two years since Ive had it but it doesn't irritate me at all, I live with family who don't know that I have it done so it's flipped back (not up because Ive stretched it 2mm and the horseshoe I have is too big to be flipped upwards) 99% of the time and I can't feel it, it only hurts if someone boops my nose or knocks it because it presses hard into the cartilage. I can't feel it whether it's hanging or flipped, but I remember the body piercer that I had told me not to flip it up or down for a while, and my horseshoe wiggles into place if i wag my nose around until it's comfy. Hope it gets better and less irritating!

Dry, itchy septum piercing?

If you are doing sea salt soaks or H2ocean spray to clean it, stop them. Use non alcohol/non scent antibacterial soap like Dial instead to clean it twice a day.

Wash your hands, take a q-tip and pour some liquid soap on it, clean around the piercing and rinse with a lot of water. Use the q-tip to remove all the soap and dry it out with another q-tip.

Sea salt can be really irritating and dry out the nostrils or the area inside the mouth so it should not be used in oral or nose piercings.

Do not worry though because it will go away. If you feel the need ( cause of the crusties ) to clean your piercing more than twice a day just use a q-tip and warm water and nothing else. It is enough to remove the crusties and make the piercing feel more comfortable.

If this continues ( which I doubt ) you could go at a piercing studio and get the All body Skin to skin cream, which works great on septum piercings especially to keep the area soft also the crusties to minimize trauma from them and help the piercing to heal.

Itchy Septum Piercing?

It could be a couple of things. It could be the jewelry brushing against your nostril hairs. Itching can also be a sign of healing, so long as it's not accompanied by intense, throbbing pain, odd colored and foul smelling discharge and the area surrounding the piercing is not hot to the touch. It should not last very long. Just try really hard not to scratch.

Why is my septum piercing itching?

Because it's healing.

Why does my nose piercing itch?

Okay, so after getting a new opening put into your nose, which I figure is to put something decorative through it, because it makes you feel great and look better :) Yeah! :) Piercings! :)That tiny fistula, or hole created from the piercing is going to need to heal. Healing involves some itching. However, there are a few things to keep in mind about your nose itching. After all, there are some other reasons it could be itching. Here are some reasons…You are not cleaning your piercing enough, or are cleaning it too much. Super harsh cleansers can dry out your piercing and the surrounding skin. Not cleaning your piercing enough leaves lots of dead skin cell build up, oils, bacteria, and leads to ITCHING. Balance with cleaning your piercings regularly during the preliminary and secondary healing times are key to success. You may having an allergic reaction to the jewelry. If you went to a respectable APP certified piercer [1]to get your nose piercing done, most likely you were outfitted with a high level of quality jewelry, which should not cause skin irritation, trigger allergies, or cause problems with your piercing healing.Case in point, some jewelry is externally threaded, and when you pull out the piercing jewelry to change it, or fiddle around with it to clean, those threads can cause microscopic tears to the surrounding tissues of your healing or healed fistula (aka piercing hole). CHEAP JEWELRY AIN’T GOOD FOR A REASON. And all piercers are not created equal. So back to the itching…. Chances are your jewelry is not the culprit, but if you are experiencing redness, swelling, or oozing at site…. or more innocently, you always find that your nose itches when wearing a certain nose stud, hoop, or other form of jewelry in your nose… You might want to look into your choice of jewelry.Give your body enough time to heal[2], before you change your jewelry, or jump to conclusions. Usually LITFA method works well, not stressing out, and letting things run their course. If it’s fresh it needs time to heal and will itch. If it’s an older piercing, you might just need to clean it, or change up your jewelry. And lastly, your skin is covered with microscopic critters[3], no matter how clean you are… so sometimes skin and piercing sites are just going to itch.Don’t panic!Footnotes[1] Association of Professional Piercers[2] Nostril Piercing[3] These microscopic mites live on your face

Septum piercing itches?

ok. so Im 15. i pierced my own septum 5-6 months ago. I believe it's already healed. I take good care of it. I cleaned it with warm sea salt water twice a day up until the 2 month mark. then I switched to once a day until the third month. I clean it every so often now. (just the backstory)

but now, it itches like hell, usually just the left side. and it itches where the hole is. I'm not sure if its the ring I have in, because I changed it from titanium (the ring I had when I pierced it cause it heals better) to something like 316 (I'm not sure what its fully called. but it's from Spencer's). should I try using salt water again? I know it's not infected. there's no swelling. no pain. it isn't irritated. but it's just really itchy. could I just be allergic to the metal?

Already healed septum piercing itchy?

My piercing has been particularly itchy for the last week or so. It's not a new piercing, I've had it for almost a year. I don't know if it's just dry or what. It's not red or swollen or anything like that. It just itches. It's weird :/ Why would it all of a sudden start itching? I do smoke so could that be irritating it (but why now)? Could the colder weather might be affecting it?

Why does my septum piercing smell?

All piercings give off a smell during at least one point in their lifetime, this is the dead skin cells accumulated around the fistula(piercing hole)usually this smell is common from not being cleansed with saline often enough, because of cheap or non implant grade metals/materiels(if you are wearing steel or silver or gold then this smell will be there nearly forever)clean it more often or change the jewellery to niobium or titanium as they will prevent the piercing from smelling.

Septum piercing feels dry?

I got it done yesterday. It gets cleaned twice a day (no excessive salt or anything). But it just feels dry. Kind of like that annoying dry feeling when you have a cold. The only thing is its not dry. Is there anyway to get rid of that sensation? Is it just about getting used to having the jewelry there? Ugh. That dry feeling is just irritating lol
