New Update Version In Iphone 3g Old Model

How many more versions of iOS will the iPhone 6 support?

Hi, thank you for requesting me to answer this. Currently I have a 6s and as far as I can tell, the 6 through 6s+ can last at least another 4 years. Hope this helped.

Is it a myth that new software updates slowdown older iPhone models?

I am using iPhone since iPhone 3G came to market, few of my observations. The new iOS version does show down older hardware ( iPhone or iPad) but the impact is gradual and not sudden.Bellow are few iPhones which i have used and my experience when they became too sluggish. My iPhone 3G worked well until iOS 4iPhone 4 worked Well tool iOS 7 (iPhone 4 came with iOS 4)iPhone 5c Became slow with iOS 9 and sluggish with iOS 10 ( originally came with iOS 7)iPhone 6 became slow with iOS 10 but not sluggish yet ( originally came with iOS 8)iPhone se is running strong with iOS 10. ( Originally came with iOS 9)All the above iPhones when were used with the iOS the version which they came with were extremely flaw less and smooth.

Why won't my IPhone 3G update?

What's probably going on is that your Iphone has become to old to support the new Apple IOS updates. When a major new update comes out (e.g. IOS8) it is designed to work flawlessly on the newest Iphone. In other words, these updates work on very fast mobile devices with a high processing capacity. The kind of capacity that wasn't available back when they brought out the Iphone 3G. Your Iphone simply can't process new updates, that's why you can't update.

Will I lose my iPhone backup if I update my iTunes?

Okay so I have iTunes 9.2, and iPhone 3G version 3.1.3. I gave it to a guy to jailbreak it, but now it won't open in iTunes because I need to have iTunes version 10.1 or later. However on my iTunes 9.2 I have a lot of music and backed up my iPhone. Will I lose my iPhone backup if I update my iTunes?

Disadvantages of Buying an Older Model iPhone?

If you really want an older phone, get a 3GS. The 3 is not compatible with the more recent operating systems, and you cannot do things such as buy ringtones and use most apps. They are only compatible up to a certain operating system, and most apps require at least iOS 6 now. The 3GS can currently update to the latest version, so go with that if you'd like. If you bought a 3, it would be absolutely useless if you intend on doing anything other than making phone calls and sending text messages. If you want the features like FaceTime and the front facing camera, you would need a 4. That is essentially the only difference at this point. The 3GS will probably be phased out soon compatibility wise, but you should probably get a year or two out of it.

How can you upgrade your iPhone 3G?

I have a feeling this is a troll question but I will do my best to answe it anyway. I know the question says “upgrade”, but I will answe as if it says “update”, since “upgrading” a cellphone is not really possible from the consumer aspect. The 3G is nearly 10 years old, and was discontinued 7 years ago. The last official version of iOS that the 3G ran was 4.2.1. The CPU, capable of 620MHz, was underclocked to 420MHz. It had 128MB of RAM, and at max 16GB of storage. It’s screen resolution was 480x320. It had a 1150 milliamp-hour battery. The cellular spectrum that it’s antenna utilized…I don’t even think any carriers (in North America anyway) still broadcast on those frequencies.Comparatively, the iPhone 6s, the oldest unit Apple still sells….no, let’s go even further back. Apple still supports iOS 11 on the iPhone 5s. Let’s compare the 3G to THAT phone, which is already old by today’s standards. The 5s was released in 2013. Four years ago. It had a DUAL CORE CPU that ran at 1.3GHz. Right there you’re massively out powering the 3G by at least three times, and that’s not counting that it’s a dual core. That CPU gets help from a dedicated GPU as well, so it doesn’t have to handle as much graphically. This lets it be used to make the phone run even smoother (comparatively. I know it’s a sloth compared to an iPhone 8 or a Galaxy S8). It has 1024mb of RAM (also known as 1gb, or 8 times as much as the 3G), that also runs faster than the RAM in the 3G. Storage starts where the 3G ended, at 16GB, but as compresion methods have gotten better, the 16GB on the 5s goes a lot further than the 3G could utilize. The battery on the 5s is slightly bigger at 1560mAh, but again, advances in power management mean this isn’t a linear increase either. The screen is much larger at 640x1136 pixels, capable of displaying much higher quality content than the 3G. Importantly, the 5s is capable of running on virtually any carrier (again in NA, which is where my experience lies).TL;DRHow can you upgrade/update an iPhone 3G? You can’t. It would be like sticking a HEMI motor in a prototype Ford Model T. Put it on a shelf or donate it to a museum, and go buy a modern smartphone. Android or Apple, pick your poison, but try to stick with something that’s less that 5 years old. If you can’t do that…well, they still sell flip phones, don’t they? ;-)

Can I find out how old my iPhone is?

Just ask Siri that “How old are you”.If you did not get the answer in first time, try asking again and again. She will reply somtime as “I came in use on xx/xx/xxxx date” or something similar to that.
