New Vehicle Warranty On A Vehicle After A Collision

Is car insurance cheaper with a new vehicle or old vehicle?

I am 21 and married and we are trying to buy a car.
we don't care if its new or used but we are wondering if the car insurance quote will be cheaper with a new or old car.

Can a car be totaled from a rear end collision?

On Thursday my car was rear ended by a car doing 20-25 mph maybe 18mph. They didn't tow my car because it's still drivable or so I thought.

It's a 2007 Buick Lucerne CXL-

The trunk still opens and closes with no problem, but the back right light is slightly down, the bumper def needs to be replaced, and the air struts in the back that are usually quiet when they lift the car are making a loud grinding/ or struggling noise when lifting the car. I took the car for a drive as a test and it veers to the right (which I think the alignment is now off). I don't know what other damage may of been done.

I called my Ins and they are going to tow it as a courtesy for me to the repair place on Monday. I am scared my car might be totaled.

What are my chances?

Can dealerships void your car warranty if the car was involved in a car accident?

In the USA, They cannot void a warranty for the reason that you described Are there other circumstances that you haven't told us about?. Contact the Honda Motor company and file a complaint against the dealer. You may also file a complaint with your states Office of consumer protection

With rear end collision air bag came on, dealer says it was not caused by accident, they charged me to fix it?

You can get advice from a third party. Thats what I would do. When they say it is a result of the accident, from that point on you inform the insurance of this. They will want another opinion after that as well.

Is there any benefit inspecting a used vehicle if it is still under warranty?

It all depends on where you're buying it and what you mean by “inspecting.” If you're a complete novice, take a friend with actual car knowledge with you to test drive and look over the vehicle. On the drive it shouldn't shudder or shake and should drive mostly straight. Double check tire wear and any cosmetic blemishes. Look at the bolts under the hood. If paint is worn off then there was body work done. This doesn't necessarily mean bad things, just proceed with caution. I know what to look for, so I wouldn't pay anyone to inspect it, but you may need to.

Is auto repair insurance (i.e. “extended warranty” for mechanical issues, beyond the legally required collision insurance) worth it?

Extended warranty is actually a term limited service contract for the vehicle. As a result, you will have to run the numbers to figure out whether it's worth it for you.The contract should mention in explicit detail, what all service is covered.A critical aspect of the service contract is to know who the underwriting company is, how long they have been in business and what existing rating, feedback and network they have. The worst thing that you can do is choose a fly by night operator who shuts down weeks after selling you the contract! The second worst thing that you can do is choose an established underwriter that covers only a handful mechanics in your area - those mechanics might be so overbooked that it might take them months to get to work on your car!Best of luck in your search. If you end up choosing one, share it in the comments below.I had almost decided to buy a 3 year old Camry alongwith a ToyotaCare “warranty” (Toyota Certified VSA).In the end the numbers just did not work out for me as a 20+ year old Camry was a way better deal with a AAA package. The way I ended up getting extended warranty for my 20+ year old Camrys is to learn how to do all the tasks myself. It's fun, challenging and I know it's been done right using top quality parts that I bought myself. In the process, I have made friends with lots of mechanics in my local area who are happy to work on my vehicles (when I don't have time or they can do the job better than I can) because they not only know my vehicles are in top condition, but they value me as well.

Does full cover car insurance cover if you blow the engine?

Nope.

Full coverage, does NOT mean everything is covered. Some things are ALWAYS not covered - like breakdown.

Insurance doesn't pay to maintain your car, or fix mechanical problems.
