New York Or London For University

Want to study fashion in University of Arts London?

I have been taking Art ever since I was 7 and have a strong passion for fashion designing.
I'll be graduating from what we call " Secondary school " in my country with a cambridge 'o' level certificate . Would that be sufficient in applying , or do I have to enter some art school in my country to get a diploma ? ( I will be 17 next year )
Or , can you guys recommend me some prestigious places to study fashion designing after my ' o ' levels which I can later proceed on to University of Arts London?
thank you !

Is the University of the Arts London a good school?

Is the University of the Arts London a good school?

Hello,
I'm an American student that just completed my Sophmore year of College. I'm transfering schools and am trying to decide between studying in London at the College of Communications, University of the Arts London- or
Hofstra University in New York.

My major is Journalism and International Relations.
Is Uni Arts London considered a top University? And would a degree from there be impressive?
I have many questions so if you would like to help answer some- it would be indescribably appreciated!

Thank You.

Which one would you prefer, New York or London?

I am qualified to answer this question as I am living in and have done business in London in and out since 1977, visited New York 4 times (1989, 1999, 2003 & 2016) and have spent some time in and around NY.The Romans founded London about 50 AD with its original name Londinios- Meaning the place of the bold one. Romans invaded Britain in 43 AD and built the first bridge across the Thames. River Thames has 33 bridges (Foot, Railway, and Road). Most major cities of the world are on the banks of very famous rivers but River Thames is Unique, it's not a very big river like the Nile, Amazon, Sindhu, and Ganga still the Thames has her own uniqueness. Boating and cruise on River Thames in summer is a wonderful experience as I have enjoyed twice. Tubes (underground Train Network), Overground trains and long-distance trains, British Rail and Euro rail are one of the best in the world. Madam Tusode and many other museums are must visit places. London Eye, Parliament house, Big Ben Tower, Buckingham Palace are with their best designs and architecture are my favorites. Oxford and Cambridge Universities are among the great and oldest Universities of the Modern world. London is also the financial capital of the world. Prices of gold, Bullion, Crude oil, and metals are fixed in London firstAbove all, London is the place to learn, my own experience. Now come to New York- The Empire State as it is known for its wealth, resources and high rise sky scrappers. New York is also the headquarter of UNO (United Nations Organisation). World’s 2 big stock exchanges (NYSE and NASDAQ) are located in New York creating the wealth of trillions of Dollars. NY is also a Headquarter of many multi-billion dollars companies (List of companies based in New York City - Wikipedia).NY bars are open until 4 am, unbelievable but trueSubways (Network of trains and metros) runs 24/7As many as 800 tongues are spoken in the five boroughs of NY, the most in any city in the world.World’s Big Five publishing houses—Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, HarperCollins, Hachette and the soon-to-be Penguin Random House—have headquarters in Manhattan, NYAfter all these mentioned above I prefer London

Would you rather live in Berlin, London, or New York City ?

I'm a New Zealander, but have spent time in all three cities. One year in New York, six weeks in Berlin and five months in London. I would order them 1. New York2. London3. Berlin I've written comparisons on my blog:NYC vs Berlin NYC vs BerlinNYC vs London New York City vs London - Chloe Travels

New york or london? Which city is the better place to study fashion design?

Yes, i want to study fashion!

So i do know that the parsons in new york and central st.martins are great fashion schools. Some even say they are the best. But if you could choose ... which is better and why? And which location is better?

I'm leaning towards london, because america seems pretty unsafe right now.

Thank you!

What’s the best city to live in London or New York? I’m currently finishing year 12 in Australia and want to move.

If I understand your reference to “year 12” that means that you’re just finishing what we in the US call High School. If I may be so bold, both New York and London are expensive and high-performance towns. You might be best served by entering a university program and earning a bachelor’s degree before emigrating. If you have some money you can do your degree in London or New York, both of which are blessed with multiple world-class universities.Anyway, to answer your stated question, the best city is the one where you can find something engaging to do with your time. If you are like most of us, you will need some sort of job to enable you to keep body and soul together. If you’re wealthy, then you should still be thinking about how to spend your time. In either case, you don’t talk about your interests and activities, so I’d look to those in assessing the two cities. But New York is your best bet (too bad Chauvinism was already named by the time I was born!)

Is studying abroad at University of Oxford worth it?

I studied at Oxford for my Junior year and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Like you said, Oxford has a ton of old world charm, and being able to study in such a historic place adds a bit of inspiration no matter what your field might be.

Yes, it will be different. As a visiting student at Oxford you will have to adjust to the tutorial system (one-on-one with the prof), and you will find that much more of the learning is independently done. However, the rewards are abundant.

You sound hesitant because of the single subject aspect. Although Oxford undergrads study only one topic, perhaps it would be possible to read two as a visitor. I would check with the organization.

Pros: amazing place (I am going back to work in Oxford for my third summer in a row - I love the location and the people), rigorous academics, adding another big name school to your resume, a chance to learn more about yourself, digging deeper into your field (prep for grad school?), the fact that you actually CAN take a year off and move overseas easily right now instead of being tied down, adventures overseas.

Cons: not seeing your friends for a year, liking New York (you still have senior year)

Do it. I know you'll love it in the end.
