Sony xperia sp,samsung galaxy s3 or google nexus 5..which one would be a better choice?
Galaxy S3 comes with Android 4.0 which is a little old. But regarding any Samsung devices, the service centres are near to us. If u choose samsung, go for some other device that come with Android 4.1 or more. Xperia SP is great. But, when compared to Nexus 5 it is back in terms of RAM and processor. Nexus 5 (not 4) comes with 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, Android 4.4 that makes it far ahead of the above two. With the user ratings considered, S3 or SP are both good. But, since Nexus 5 is the latest we can't tell its cons. Considering specs- Nex 5, user ratings- SP, user ratings& service- S3 can be considered.

Nexus phones are better choice when you are planning to buy a phone. The reason being Nexus phones are developed by Google, The same company which develops the Android OS, Hence all the recent updates will definitely come for Nexus Phones. Can I flash stock android rom (The ones on nexus) on sony xperia device?
You cannot flash the exact ROMs from nexus into Xperias.There are custom AOSP ROMs that are made from the stock AOSP projects that can be flashed in order to get the stock Android feel and with even some more customization options.Some of the major Custom ROM makers are - Cyanogenmod , Paranoid Android, slim roms, Resurrection Remix etc.Headover to forum.xda-developers.com forums and search for the model you want to flash . There you will find ROMs and Tutorials on how to flash ROMs under the respective models page.

Both have very similar hardware specifications, but I would go for the Xperia V.1. Although both have processors clocked at 1.5GHz with Krait architecture, Xperia V has a newer & better processor - Snapdragon S4 Plus compared to the S3 on Xperia TX.2. Xperia V is IP57 certified, i.e., it is dust and water resistant. That is the reason its thickness is slightly more.
