Nj Unemployment Good Cause

Can I get food stamps if I am on unemployment?

Yes, as a matter of fact, it should be easier for you to receive food stamps because it will be easier for them to verify your income. Our food stamp office verifies unemployment benefits via the same state system they use to determine food stamp eligibility. They are able to view work quarters and the date unemployment payouts begin. Income, or the lack of income, has to be verified as part of the food stamp application process. In our area, emergency food stamps can also be requested. Do a search to find out if there are any food banks (pantries) in your area. Once you are approved to receive food stamps, you automatically qualify for food bank distributions.

Can you collect unemployment if you had to quit your job because you were moving out of state?

the state will decide based on the facts in your case but it is possible that you will be eligible.

the majority of people that answer questions on Y!A concerning unemployment insurance do NOT have a clue as to how the system works.
every state's regulations are basically the same but each state defines what they see as "good cause" to quit a job........ all you can do is go through the process NO one can tell you if you will be eligible or not until you file and go through the entire process including all the appeals (if need be)....

you also must qualify for unemployment, this is based on your earnings in the past 15 to 18 months (varies by state).
if you qualify then the eligibility process begins.....
elgibility is based generally on WHY the job was lost and what the employee did or failed to do to prevent the job loss.......

the ONLY certain thing about unemployment insurance is NOTHING is certain.......

I live in the state of NJ.

What are the three main causes of unemployment in Mexico?

The rate of unemployment in Mexico is low in comparision to other countries, but those unemployed are many times due to lack of good skills, and lack of willingness and easy steps to start a business.(but they are many good initiatives already tackling the second one)To overcome the first one for every case there is a good reason not to have the skills, but is at personal level as well to try to gain the necessary skills to be ready to work, if the motivation and basic living standard are already met.So the key to reduce the rate of unemployment is once more, better education on the right skills required on the market.I believe even more important than reducing the unemployment is, to have more well paid jobs in Mexico and that can only be true if more jobs for services (or new inovative products) are created and the quality of these are excellent.

Can you collect unemployment benefits in NEW JERSEY while attending graduate school part time at night?

it will be determined by WHY you lost the job and if you meet all the other criteria.
QUITTING A JOB DOES NOT DISQUALIFY YOU IF YOU HAD "CAUSE" TO QUIT.

if you fail to accept a job because of your school schedule you could then lose the benefits but going to school alone does not disqualify you. generally if you quit work to go to school you don't qualify but that is not what you are asking about.

there are no time limits to apply but you should apply as soon as possible because your ties to the workforce as well as your income in the past 5 quarters (15 months) are used to determine eligibility and benefit amount.
generally applications for benefits can not be backdated and benefits are NOT retroactive past the Sunday of the week you apply.

EDIT:
did you read the answer?
going to school does NOT disqualify you but if you fail to accept a job because of school then that fact may disqualify you.

Would lying disqualify me for unemployment?

NJ has weird rules....rules I've never seen in any other state. You were fired for "misconduct." That does NOT disqualify you from benefits in NJ -- it just means you can't collect for the first 6 weeks of unemployment. If, however, you were fired for "gross misconduct" it would be a different story. In most states, in order to collect UI benefits you must lose your job "through no fault of your own." You admit you were at fault so you wouldn't qualify. In NJ, however, completely different story. Here's what it says on the NJ website:
"* If you were discharged from your job because of misconduct
connected with the work, you may be disqualified from benefits for
the week in which the misconduct occurred and for the next five (5)
weeks. After that period you may be eligible to collect benefits.
* If your misconduct was serious enough to be considered a crime
under the “New Jersey Code of Criminal Justice,” you may be
disqualified from benefits indefinitely, until you return to work for
at least four (4) weeks, earn six (6) times your WBR, then become
unemployed again through no fault of your own. In addition,
any wages you earned with the employer who discharged you
cannot be used to establish a claim for unemployment benefits
or to remove a disqualification for voluntarily quitting your job
or for gross misconduct."

So file, expect to wait a month and a half before you get benefits and keep looking for another job because benefits won't last forever.

Can I collect unemployment while I drive for Uber?

The short answer is yes, however in the great State of Texas, there are a few stipulations rhetoric must be met in order to receive unemployment benefits. You MUST be able and available for fulltime employment. You MUST be actively searching for full time employment. You MUST report the hours worked and monies earned every two weeks. If you earn more money than you've qualified to receive in benefits, you will not receive benefits for that time period. If you earn less then you will receive the difference. I.e. You've qualified for $400 a week and you earn $500 for that week, you will not receive any benefits. If you earn $300 that week then you'll receive $100 for that week in benefits. The best thing to do is to check with your states unemployemt website for specifics in your state.Good luck………..!

Can you get denied unemployment benefits?

Yes, there are a number of reasons an individual could be denied, varying by state. Failure to provide requested information, or complete requirements are some reasons. Failure to be/remain able and available and/or seeking work. Refusing suitable job offers, being in school full time, during your customary work hours, could all result in a ‘denial.’ Obviously, as mentioned, the reason for separation can lead to ‘denial’ as well. In Florida, quitting for reasons not attributable to the employer, or being discharged for ‘misconduct’ will disqualify you. Some wages (retirement, severance, for example) can lead to a disqualification, and lastly, not having enough wage credits or earnings could also lead to a denial.

NJ, fired for poor work performance, am I likely to get unemployment benefits?

Yes, in New Jersey you will be eligible for unemployment benefits unless you engaged in misconduct (for example, stealing from your employer). Just apply before the deadline. If your application is denied, file an appeal and you will win. The standard for eligibility is very easy to meet in the Garden State.
