No Such Thing As Addiction To Prescription Drugs

Did you ever become addicted to a prescription medicine that you had to take daily?

Thanks for the A2A Ms. Tammy :)I did indeed become addicted to a prescription medication that I was prescribed and had to use daily. Quite a few years ago, I woke up in the middle of the night soaking wet, thinking to myself “Oh my god! Did I really piss myself?!” I stood up and realized that my half of the bed sheets were drenched from where my head was, all the way down to where my feet rested. I was running a fever of 103.2 and had to be rushed to the urgent care. From the moment they couldn’t get my fever to break after giving me both Tylenol and Motrin, they knew something was going on and took me by ambulance to the hospital. I had a severe infection in my kidneys and had to have a tube inserted in my back for a few days in order to drain the excessive fluid that had built up. While there I had my first ever encounter with a dilaudid pump. Every 5 minutes or so I could push a little button and have a dose of dilaudid run through my i.v. It was in those days that my long & disastrous opiate addiction began and started ruining my life. They sent me home with a prescription, which I remember was supposed to last me a week until my follow up appointment, that I had demolished in a matter of two… maybe three days. I am happy to say that while I will always be an addict, I am in active recovery. I used to think that there wasn’t any feeling like being high on opiates… Now, I cannot even begin to explain how amazing it feels to see the world in color again. Or how it feels to be an active part of all of my boys lives and truly be present IN THAT MOMENT. Not just sitting there with my mind in a clouded mess. Those moments… those are the ones that won’t ever be able to be beat.

What is the best prescription drug to abuse that isn't known too well and easy to get prescribed?

Listsn, having used these words together in a sentence, Best/Drug/Abuse, I’m not so sure you fully understand the meaning of each. There is not, nor will there ever be any drug (whether illegal or legal being of no importance) that is best or even close to being a good choice for abusing. The choice to use a drug(s) is a very personal decision, nobody should have the right other than yourself to make that decision. No one should feel right in judging another person for a decision affecting only themselve, the one who made it. I personally use a wide variety of drugs both legal/illegal. I currently use and will continue to use them, only doing so for short periods of time and for recreation only. When it’s decided to purposely and knowingly abuse drugs, a greater more dangerous decision has actually been made. It’s the decision to inflict harm upon oneself both physically and psychologically, done so intentionally. If this is your intention and the reason behind the question, please before you do so, msg me directly. I ask only two small things of you, -Give me 1 day to write and send you something via email. -Take the time, focus on it only and read what I have sent. If your asking out of curiosity the answer should now be quite clear- Such a thing does not exist nor will it ever.Cheers!

What's the strongest non-addictive recreational drug?

'Strongest' is a bit of a loaded term, it doesn't really make much sense without more context.  I'm going to exclude all the 'research chemicals' as I don't have time to research them all.Ranked by dosage for a solid effective dose for most people (DO NOT USE THIS AS A DOSAGE GUIDE, Look up the specific mg/kg ON Erowid, read the reports, do your homework, cross check everything). LSD-25 (150µg) [synthetic but related to ergotamines]Salvinorin A (1 mg) [mint/Salvia divinorum]Psilocybin/Psilocin (20mg) [100's of mushrooms, P. azurescens, P. semilanceata, and P. cyanescens]DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) (30mg) [100's of sources, Mimosa tenuiflora, Diplopterys cabrerana, and Psychotria viridis]Mescaline (300 mg) [Peyote/Lophophora williamsii, San Pedro/Echinopsis pachanoi, Peruvian torch/Echinopsis peruviana]Ibogaine (800 mg) [Iboga/Tabernanthe iboga root bark]So by that measure, I think LSD wins. For duration of effect I think Ibogaine (which can last for days) then LSD.For rapidity and depth of transition probably smoked DMT or maybe Salvinorin A.For most alien DMT.For most organic Psilocybin. For most likely to make you shit your pants or puke your guts up Ayahuasca (a drink made from a vine that has an MAOI and another plant that contains DMT).Ibogaine being the most likely, from this list, to cause death.  It probably shouldn't be on a 'recreational' list.  I agree with Anonymous that Datura is a VERY powerful (and deadly poisonous) route to altered states but I would say it is disqualified as it is definitely NOT 'recreational'.All of them could possibly alter your consciousness permanently, for better or worse.

Can I take drugs for the rest of my life without getting addicted?

Its like asking can i visit brothel daily, without having physical relationship with any women.so ,answer is a big NO.here,as u ask you use the word without getting addicted.addiction takes place when something is take or done beyond the acceptable limit.like if we take a particular medicine as prescribed by doctor (which is in limited amount),then it helps us to heal ourselveswhereas, when we start to taking those same medicine more than what the doctor is prescribed then it gradually tends to become habit…. a bad habit often refer as an addiction.ALTHOUGH,there are some people out there who actually manages to take drugs in a respectable amount and keep themselves away from those addictons, but such type of people are really very few….but if u are like me or like an average individual then with you my friend also there is a tendency to develop addiction.so ,its better to keep your self away from such things…..whom which you think are kind of addictive.like someone says:prevention is better than cureand in above case in place of cure i would like to add a different word which completely changes the meaning of sentence and it is only meaningful for those people who actually suffering or suffered from any type of addiction. If you want to learn more then study a RAT.so finally the phrase isPREVENTION IS BETTER THAN ADDICTION.best of luck

Who is to blame for a prescription drug overdose, the Physician or Patient?

Prescription drug overdose deaths have doubled in the past 14 years. When prescription drugs are used in any way other than what a doctor has prescribed, it classifies as drug abuse. In 2013, nearly two million Americans abused prescription drugsThere are many cases where the prescription drug abuse is unintentional, such as by accidentally taking a wrong dose or by simply increasing the dose over time to compensate for the lost effectiveness of the drug. In other cases, though, prescription overdoses are completely intentional.Adults and adolescents are at the highest risk for using prescription drugs to harm themselves or end their life. Unfortunately, some accidental overdoses do occur in young children who ingest their parents’ prescriptions when the drugs are not properly secured. This can be avoided by keeping all medications in a locked safe or behind a locked door.Since many adults struggling with an addiction to prescription medications began by taking the drug as a legally prescribed medication, prevention of prescription drug overdose begins with the prescribing doctor. All doctors should comply strictly with safe prescribing practices. This can be done by first prescribing alternative, non-habit forming drugs instead of opioid prescriptions whenever possible. Doctors can also provide resources on pain management techniques. All doctors must comply with their state’s policies on prescribing, and many states are taking an active role in identifying fraudulent prescriptions.Providers can also participate in prescription drug monitoring programs, or PDMPs. These programs have been set up by individual states to keep track of the medications prescribed to patients statewide. The information collected in PDMPs is used to detect possible prescription medication abuse in hopes of decreasing the likelihood for addiction and accidental overdose.Although doctors providing prescriptions can play a big role in preventing accidental overdose, patients are the ones ultimately responsible for their habits surrounding prescription drug consumption. There are many things patients can do to avoid prescription drug overdose. Prescription Drug Overdose - Leading Cause of Accidental Deaths

Is there medication you can take for stress?

Over the last year I have been becoming increasingly stressed over the smallest things.
At first I would go to the gym to destress but now there is nothing that helps me, and I am starting to be completely overwhelmed. Is there anything the doctor can give me to help?

Is Drug Abuse A Victimless Crime?

Yes, it IS a victimless crime. Alcohol is a victimless crime. Tobacco smoking is not victimless because it harms others-Second-hand smoking.

Drug abuse is classified as victimless because the 'abuser' CHOOSES to engage in this activity. It's our constitutional right. It harms themselves, but not others. The actions they choose to engage in while on this Drug is a different classification and irrelevant to the arguement.

People who say Drug Abuse is not victimless has no idea what they are talking about and should not post on questions like these. PEOPLE JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND PSYCHOLOGY.

Also, the people the judge Drug abusers are just morons (I don't do any drugs, even alcohol). It's their choice to engage in this activity so why the hell do you even care. Oh that's right, you believe what Mommy and Daddy told you when you were a kid. And the last time I checked, I believe that is our constitutional right to choose what we want to engage in. Saying that people deserve punishment for abusing drugs are just arrogant morons that don't understand psychology.

Last year Alcohol was the cause of 85,000 deaths in America, but yeah that's okay because it's drinkable. It's still a drug. Tobacco killed around 440,000 last year, but yeah that's okay because it's legal. The people who posted on this question have to be the biggest hypocritical morons I have ever seen. I suggest you all get an IQ test done right away.
