Make sure for what ever web browser you use that you have both adobe flash player and java installed. Also make sure you have disabled any ad blockers.

are you typing it in right? and sometimes browsers/websites turn picky and don't want go unless you type www. try these things: refresh the page (F5) exit Firefox, wait a while and open it again restart the computer

I cant watch any videos on websites (like youtube)?
i recently got a netbook and everything has been working smoothly and fast until today, when i noticed all the websites with video wont play, like youtube. if i go there and click on a video no matter what it will freeze in a matter of seconds and i'll have to shut it down. its really frustrating, does anybody know what this might be due to?

The site is experiencing technical issues. This isn't the first time this happened, you just gotta wait it out. Edit: Kinda stupid answer by me. Didn't realize you were talking about the sound only. I've had the same problem as you since september last year and it is linked to flash 11. If you have a flash 10 plugin installed in Chrome you can go to plugins (chrome://plugins) to disable flash 11, so it will use flash 10 for youtube (and others). Alternatively you could try to use IE, since the IE plugin for flash is different to that for Chrome and Firefox. Downgrading to a flash 10 version does come with security issues - excactly which I can't tell you. You are gonna want to use an antivirus with real time protection anyway. This could be microsoft security essentials, which is free. By the way, I've been spending many hours on finding a solution, that didn't involve downgrading to Flash 10, and so have many others, and I have yet to come across one.
