Why am I losing Instagram followers whenever I am not active for a week or so?

Hi Jin —I totally understand where you are coming from. You see, Instagram relies heavily on hype — what’s popular, the latest content with the most likes, Impressions, Reach, Highest Engsgement Rate…etc. and as you can imagine there are millions of content being posted even second of the day. Therefore Instagram always give precedence to the newest posts that ranks high based on any of these metrics (Likes, Impressions, Reach, Total Engagement Rate). By now you’re wondering how does this answer my question. Here is how:The less active you are on the platform the less Impressions your posts get. Impressions are the number of times your post is seen when posted. When you’re not active practically most of your content will never be seen because more than likely newer content from other grammers are being given precedence over yours.Out of Sight out of Mind — Simply put where you don’t post anything no one knows you’re there. No one sees your posts and as a result no one sees your profile. This will hurt you 2 ways (1) You will attract NO new followers. Instagrammers are all about the latest and greatest. (2) Existing Followers will unfollow you. Why? Because they Followed you to get more of what you were offering but then you suddenly stopped supplying. It’s be basic notion of Supply and Demand, the more you’re active (supplying) the more you’ll attract new followers (demand).Tip: stay active on the platform of you intend to keep/grow your followers.
