Nose Piercing Sensitive On The Inside

What does it mean when my nose piercing is scabbing inside?

It just means it is healing. Nothing to worry about:) Bleeding and scabbing aren't uncommon amount fresh piercings. And don't be surprised if there is a "crust-like" substance on it. Almost every piercing gets a crust. That just means it's healing well!

Help with sensitivity with nose piercing?

When changing from a stud to a hoop, you need to remember that cartilage is not like flesh- your cartilage eventually takes the shape of whatever you have inside of it and molds to it. So your nostril INSIDE is now curved to fit the hoop. It would be straight if you kept the stud in. I've had my nose pierced off and on for years, currently have 2 in each nostril, my right has been done for 5 years and I still have this issue.

So when putting the stud in, you need to be careful and follow the curve.

Is it normal to get a nostril piercing and have swelling on the inside of my nose?

Yep - absolutely. Don't touch it with anything other than a clean Q-tip dipped in Tea tree oil or some other disinfectant/ healing balm meant for piercings and tattoos.

You should see the swelling disappear within a few days.

(FYI I used to do piercings and aftercare, and I have two nostril piercings.)

ALSO - don't let these people freak you out. Anytime you introduce trauma to tissue - and a piercing is trauma - you will swell. Its the bodies NATURAL reaction. When you pierced your ears - they swelled - but they healed... right? Its the same thing, but the nose usually swells INSIDE rather than out!

Why does my nose piercing itch?

Okay, so after getting a new opening put into your nose, which I figure is to put something decorative through it, because it makes you feel great and look better :) Yeah! :) Piercings! :)That tiny fistula, or hole created from the piercing is going to need to heal. Healing involves some itching. However, there are a few things to keep in mind about your nose itching. After all, there are some other reasons it could be itching. Here are some reasons…You are not cleaning your piercing enough, or are cleaning it too much. Super harsh cleansers can dry out your piercing and the surrounding skin. Not cleaning your piercing enough leaves lots of dead skin cell build up, oils, bacteria, and leads to ITCHING. Balance with cleaning your piercings regularly during the preliminary and secondary healing times are key to success. You may having an allergic reaction to the jewelry. If you went to a respectable APP certified piercer [1]to get your nose piercing done, most likely you were outfitted with a high level of quality jewelry, which should not cause skin irritation, trigger allergies, or cause problems with your piercing healing.Case in point, some jewelry is externally threaded, and when you pull out the piercing jewelry to change it, or fiddle around with it to clean, those threads can cause microscopic tears to the surrounding tissues of your healing or healed fistula (aka piercing hole). CHEAP JEWELRY AIN’T GOOD FOR A REASON. And all piercers are not created equal. So back to the itching…. Chances are your jewelry is not the culprit, but if you are experiencing redness, swelling, or oozing at site…. or more innocently, you always find that your nose itches when wearing a certain nose stud, hoop, or other form of jewelry in your nose… You might want to look into your choice of jewelry.Give your body enough time to heal[2], before you change your jewelry, or jump to conclusions. Usually LITFA method works well, not stressing out, and letting things run their course. If it’s fresh it needs time to heal and will itch. If it’s an older piercing, you might just need to clean it, or change up your jewelry. And lastly, your skin is covered with microscopic critters[3], no matter how clean you are… so sometimes skin and piercing sites are just going to itch.Don’t panic!Footnotes[1] Association of Professional Piercers[2] Nostril Piercing[3] These microscopic mites live on your face

Nose piercing, saline eye solution to clean it?

Saline solution is pretty much the same thing as salt water. This is fine to use for your nose.

First off, you cleaning it to much. You should only clean it 1- 2 times a day, it is best to clean it right out of the shower.Cleaning it to often can dry it out or get it infected.Second , you need to clean the inside of the piercing too!It is just as important as cleaning the outside , if not more because you breath in germs and you get dust and other stuff on the piercing. If you've ever had your ears pierced , you know that you clean BOTH sides of the piercing while twisting the jewelry around with clean hands. It is basically the same thing with your nose. Also make sure that you are using a ear cotton sticks dipped into the saline solution and your not just pouring it on.And make sure to not use the used side to clean the opposite end of the piercing. It spreads germs.

Remember that it is very common to get your piercing infected within the first few weeks up until the healing process is finished. You may get what is called a keloid or however you spell it.It is a little bump that appears on the inside and outside of the piercing. It can be painful and looks red .My piercer suggested me to use a little rubbing alcohol , but only a little because it can dry it out.Which worked for me . And you will also get little scabs but don't pick them off.
Good luck .And next time , ASK questions before you get the piercing! And if you can , do a little background research on the piercing and what supplies you may need , how to take care of it , etc.Piercings never go away , and you should really look more into things before piercing your body.

I got a nose ring and its tickling the inside of my nose and making me sneeze?

Get use to it...its a foreign object in your nose...it's tickling nose hairs, which is causing the natural reaction to sneeze.

Your not going to be able to straighten it any with it in the piercing, and certainly not with your fingers with it in the piercing.

Wait a couple of more weeks, go to your piercer and ask them to change it for you. Odds are though, its going to do the same thing if it is a nose screw. If it is straightened too much, its going to hang out of your nose, or tickle even worse.

What happens when you sneeze with a nose piercing in?

I got my nose pierced *officially* a month ago ... The nose ring most piercers use (if you get it done with a needle) is L shaped (like mine). My ring has yet to get gunky even when I was sick and sneezing every few minutes last week. The only problem I have is when I completely forget my nose is pierced and stick tissue in my nose because then my nose ring moves to an uncomfortable position so then I have to wash my hands (important for anytime you need to touch the piercing) and move it back.

If you take care of it properly you won't have any issues :) good luck!

How do you speed the healing of a nose piercing?

Have a healthy body, try to not drink too much alcohol or smoke too much and if you do just ensure your diet is healthy and with enough protein. Keep your immune system strong and always clean your piercing at least one time a day with the right solution. If you are having slow heal rates then check:You must wear good quality jewelleryClean your piercing daily- use mild saline not harsh sprays or antisepticsDon't touch or play with your piercing -knocking it or touching it cause slow heal ratesKeep healthy- if you are sick than expect slower healingEat well- your body needs sustenance to supply your blood and immune system with the tools to repair your piercingCheck with a local professional piercer if you are still not getting results or you are unsure

Nose piercing keeps bleeding?

I got my nose pierced five days ago, and everything was going perfectly well up until today. I woke up at 5am out of nowhere and noticed there was a giant clump of blood around my piercing, inside and out. I freaked out a bit, but went and cleaned it off with some water and q-tips. I went back to bed, but an hour later I felt it start bleeding again, so I went and cleaned it off with my h2ocean solution. Went back to bed, and same thing again. Just cleaned it off with water this time. There's no swelling, no bump, nothing wrong with it at all. It's just bleeding a lot. Is this normal? Do I have an infection? Should I contact my piercer?

Should I worry about a bleeding nose piercing?

It sounds like this is either a new nose piercing or it’s an old one that is infected and will not heal.I think you need to use peroxide or rubbing alcohol, forget which, on new piercings to keep them clean and the nose ring clean. Maybe try a q-tip dipping in the liquid to clean the area. You might try removing the piercing and cleaning it or putting a clean one in while the other sits in a peroxide solution to disinfect. You might be allergic to the material in the piercing and it cannot heal because of the allergic irritation. Many metals, even silver and stainless steel, have trace amounts of nickel in them. A lot of metals have a coating on them that wears off and then the nickel is exposed as well, even in hypoallergenic earrings.Never use anything less than 14k gold, preferably 24k gold. I always switch bad to gold when I had irritated ears from wearing earrings, or I would remove them completely until it healed. Sometimes the hole would close a bit, but repiercing was pretty easy since the scar tissue had already formed the hole around the earring. For nose bleeds, applying pressure at the bridge of your nose can help constrict the flow of blood for a full blown nose bleed. Applying a cold compress to the nose and the back of the neck helps as well. This would help the small capillaries in the nose too.
