How do I stop receiving message/notification from whatsapp, from a whatsapp group?

Whatsapp groups are fun and a great way to keep in touch with family and friends as a group. But what grinds our gears is group notifications when there's a lot of people actively chatting. The incessant ping/vibrate can be annoying and can severely drain power from your iPhone. There are a number of ways to disable/mute Whatsapp group notifications. We go over all of these here.Mute from ChatsThis is the eaiest method to mute notifications from a particular group. In the Chats window, swipe left on the group you want to mute.Tap on MoreNext, tap on Mute and then pick a time frameNotice that you can mute a group (from sending notifications) for a specific time-frame. If you want to mute group notifications for all the groups you are in, you will have to follow method #3.#2. Mute from Group InfoThere's another way to mute a group chat from sending notifications to you. This again works like the first method above.Open the group chat thread in WhatsappTap on the name of the group on the topTap on MutePick an option for the time period for which the notifications from this group chat should be muted. (1 day, 1 week or 1 year)Again, this is for a specific group only.#3. Mute in SettingsThis method is best when you want to prevent all group chat notifications.Open WhatsappTap on Settings (bottom menu)Tap on NotificationsUnder the label Group Notifications, turn off the switch for AlertsThis will prevent Whatsapp from notifying you of any group message. Note that this is a blanket option so you will be muting all group notifications indefinitely with this switch.

WhatsApp messages pop up on the top of the screen in Lollipop. How do you turn this off?

Android Lollipop, introduced an array of new features and aesthetics that pleased many loyal users. One of those additions being the new heads-up notifications. Taking subtle inspiration from iOS, these notifications are visually appealing and can be easily dismissed or expanded, but they do require that you take an action before they go away immediately. Of course, you can always wait 10 seconds for them to disappear, but that can be really annoying if you're in the middle of a game or editing a photo.Unfortunately, there's no setting that lets you dictate how notifications will come in. On an iPhone, you can choose either Alerts, Banners, or None, but in Android Lollipop, it's heads-up or no notifications at all.But this is Android we're talking about, so when Google misses a beat, a developer is usually there to fix it, which is exactly what Jawomo's new app does. Lollipop users can still receive their notifications without the interruption of obtrusive heads-up alerts, much like the old-style ticker notifications we had on KitKat. And unlike other methods of disabling these notifications, Jawomo's app doesn't require root-level access.Step 1 - Install HeadsOffGo ahead and install HeadsOff, Jawomo's app, from the Google Play Store for free. Obviously, you'll need to be running Android 5.0 or higher for this.Step 2 - Enable the ServiceTo get this application working, open it up and select "App is disabled," then enable Notification access. Once access is granted, heads-up notifications will be suppressed.Step 3 - Apply It on a Per-App Basis (Optional)With the Pro version ($1.99), you can enable HeadsOff on a per-app basis so you don't miss out on the alerts you really want. There's also an option to select how notifications appear on your lock screen, but this can also be done natively through the stock Settings app.Step 4 - Try It Out & Enjoy!Heads-up notifications will no longer intrude on what you're doing, but don't worry about missing notifications, because you'll still be able to view your them in the notification tray and through status bar notification icons.Source - Gadget HacksA.R.;-)

Is there a way to change the sound for app notifications in iOS?

There is no way to customise the notification sound for 3rd party applications until the app developer build that functionality into their app. However, if you wish to change the notification sound for system apps built into the iPhone, you can do this by going to Settings > Sounds.Applications like WhatsApp has options for that, you can change the notification sound from the app settings itself. If the app developer didn't build that functionality into their app, you can't change the notification sound.

Does a blue circle with a blue check mark mean I'm blocked on Messenger?

No it does not. A blue circle shows that your message is sending. A blue circle with a checkmark meaning is that your message has been sent. A filled-in blue circle with a checkmark meaning is that your message has been delivered. A small version of your friend's photo will pop up below the message on the bottom right when they've read it.When someone blocks you on Facebook itself, then you will be unable to see that person’s profile or find them on messenger. If they just block you on messenger then you will be able to see their newsfeed, profile and respond to posts but not message them. You will receive an error message if you try to send a chat on messenger such as, “This person is not available right now” or some other error message. Check your messages to see if you have had prior interactions with that user. If you two have sent texts to each other in the past, then it should show in your inbox.Expand the message board, and the photo of that user will display the default. If the picture appears in white outline, then it means you are still in contact with the user.If it appears in black (bold black colour), you’ll see that you are unable to click on that person’s profile – this means that you have been blocked from their contact list.
