Appeal Letter For Readmission To A Nursing Program After You Have Failed Out?

Nursing is such a competitive major to get into, that I feel you need to be prepared, and have an alternative path in mind for in case this appeal doesn't work out for you.

When you write your appeal letter, focus it as follows:
1) what happened/caused your failure. Take the blame on yourself. Do not blame anyone else. Be real.
2) what you're doing now to fix those issues. You want to identify a realistic plan, and start getting the help you need now, so you can mention all that in your letter.
3) what the result of your plan will be re: future success.

Keep the letter brief and to the point. Don't go on and on about how your boyfriend did X, you did Y, your mom did Z. State instead, for example, that you had extensive family problems that impacted your studies. That those problems have since been resolved. That you're in counselling now, and ready to focus on school again.

For example, if you became depressed and lost your focus, say so. Then go into counselling/go to a doctor and seek treatment now. Mention all that in your letter, and tell them how the doctor believes that with this treatment, you'll be your old self again in the fall, and ready to tackle school again.

Are there any preparation classes for the nursing entrance exam?

Absolutely. There are a variety of courses that you can take to help prepare you for the NCLEX exam. Assuming by the question being asked, you may just be someone who isn’t good at test-taking. The best way to prepare for any major test is to take a general test preparation class. You learn things like, statistically, which letter - a,b,c or d - is the correct answer most often. You learn what words to look for that automatically exclude an answer. If you have no idea the answer, you learn how to get it down to two possibilities then choose the letter answer you learn from my first example. ;)Armed with new test-taking strategies, the most common pharmacological abbreviations and some basic math calculations, you’ll do great.

What is a good sample letter of intent for a nursing school?

Read my nursing entrance essay and give me your thoughts/opinions.?

Every thing I have done in my life, I have worked very hard for it. This program will be no exception. First, I will keep God at my side at all times. With Him all things are possible. Further more, I will continue to be confident in myself and work hard at everything I do to allow me to be very successful in this nursing program.

Life it self throws many curves at you, but it is up to you to get through them. With this program there will be many curves and obstacles as well, but I will preserver and come out on top.

Once I become a nurse, I plan to continue to be dedicated and sincere, but also very nurturing. These are just two of the many qualities that I feel a good nurse should posses. Having these qualities will not only allow you to succeed in nursing but in life as well.

Nursing is a fulfillment in life for me. It is a reward that I have been given and I can’t wait to be able to give back what I have been so blessed to have.

Please share thoughts and ideas!

I’m applying to graduate nursing programs after previous grad school dismissal. Applications are asking me to explain it. During the dismissal, I was really stressed out & not communicating well. I had a family member dying. Does anyone have advice?

Be honest with your response. We had a Yale School of Nursing adnissuons officer come to our school and explained how disclosing extenuating circumstances can be crucial in the app.He explained that there was an applicant to the school of nursing that applied who had been arrested. Because the applicant didn’t explain it in his app, the admissions started to wonder what in the world he did, and honestly it left a bad impression. The admissions contacted the applicant and it turned out the person was arrested for a civil rights protest. It was something minor in their view of the applicant. When the applicant disclosed this the admissions were much more understanding.Be honest.

Keep a record of your volunteer hours.
Join some more clubs or youth organizations and take a leadership role.
Shadow some nurses.
Be able to supply great letters of recommendation from teachers, nurses, the persons who supervise your volunteer work.
Earn any honors that you can in addition to NHS.

Have you ever been rejected by a nursing school? How did you cope with the rejection and did you later on get accepted?

Yes. It felt like a nightmare that I could not wake up from. I felt like nothing was going right for me at the time.I was rejected the first year by the only two schools I applied to and the second year I was rejected by one school. I was later waitlisted by the same school that rejected me and I later received a call that I was accepted to the program. When I was rejected from nursing school that first time around I cried. But the next day I decided to reevaluate what I needed to do to get into nursing school. I emailed the assistant director of admissions and asked her what was wrong with my application. I was told my lowest score for my application was my interview. I decided I would take one year off to work on myself. I worked as a PCT in a nursing home for a bit. I researched questions for interviews and rewrote responses for various questions. I added more skills onto my resume and was able to answer the interview questions with ease. Not only did I get accepted, after being rejected by the same school a year ago. I just graduated two days ago with my BSN from an accelerated program.

I need help writing a letter regarding GPA.Pls. Help?

My name is ______ and I am currently applying for Nurse Practitioner program. I am writing this letter to explain why I have low GPA. Back in 1999 I enrolled in a course that I did not like. At that time I didn't know what I wanted and I was coerced by my parents. Due to lack of interest I often dropped my class or ended with poor grades.
After my service in the US Army I went back to school in 2007 and studied Nursing. I finished it in 2010 and I proud to say I have good grades. I can assure that my GPA was pulled down due to my previous course that was credited to nursing. I love my profession. I am working in ICU and currently studying to get my Certified Critical Care Nurse title.
