Of These Trucks And Brands Which Is Best And Why

What is the best brand of a semi truck?

Kind of depends on what you’re looking for. Mack makes good trucks, but I think it’s getting hard to find them in anything other than vocational trucks (dump trucks, sanitation trucks, etc.); IMHO, Peterbilt and Kenworth are overrated, as you can get a cheaper truck with the same equipment options. I’m not sure the ride is that much better, either. It’s been awhile since I’ve driven either, but from what I can remember, the ride wasn’t that much better than a Freightliner of the same year.Speaking of Freightliners, they seem to be OK trucks. Almost every company I’ve been with has had fleets of these trucks, and it seems like every third truck you see on the highway is a Freightliner. They seem to be fairly reliable (the one I have now is a 2016 with 300k miles, and it’s been pretty much trouble-free, but I’ve only had it since February), and I think they are a little less expensive than the rest of them. Then you have Volvo. As far as I’m concerned you can’t beat the ride, handling, and maneuverability, but I’ve heard the parts are expensive and hard to get. From a driver’s standpoint, they are my favorite.Haven’t had much experience with International; the last one I drove was a 2011 model, for about three months; I didn’t have too much trouble with it, though. The best brand? As much as I hate to say it, and as sick of driving them as I am, I guess I’d have to say the Freightliner is probably the best one, as far as price, dependability, and ride.

Why do rednecks love Dodge Ram trucks over other brands? What are the generalized pros/cons of Dodge Ram trucks vs Chevy or Ford trucks?

They are big into the Classic Hemi engine and the trucks do usually look pretty good and upscale as of latest models. The infotainment system seemed to be the best in the past but overall everyone has caught up and also they aren’t known for being reliable exactly being from Chrysler. But they have a good ride and suspension setup versus the other trucks. I think Ford makes the best trucks, and I’ve driven a Ford and a Chevy. Haven’t done a Ram yet but my friends was pretty nice. At some point if you’ve experienced one truck so often, having a change up is a nice refresher. My work has ford’s and some of the guys have chevys for their personals. Some still have ford’s too.

What’s the best truck?

Do you know what truck is considered to be No.1 American truck? Sure, it’s Ford.2018 Ford Super Duty F 450 Lariat is a truck that will fulfil all your needs: work, travelling, family and so on.Have a look on its specification (is taken from 2018 Ford® Super Duty Truck | Tough & Hard Working Durability Features | Ford.com), I think it’s the most powerful truck ever built:DURABILITY YOU NEED TODAY — AND OVER THE LONG HAUL.Today’s generation of the Ford Super Duty® is the toughest, most capable heavy-duty pickup we’ve ever built. Body weight was slashed by going with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy. Some of that weight savings was then reinvested where it really counts in a work truck — stronger axles, beefier steering and chassis components, and an all-new fully boxed frame built of over 95 percent high-strength steel. The result is a pickup that’s stronger yet lighter, delivering class-leading* payload and towing.HIGH-STRENGTH, MILITARY-GRADE, ALUMINUM-ALLOY BODYThe Super Duty® has the only high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body in its class.* Aluminum alloy is substantially lighter than the previous body, yet it’s remarkably strong. It’s also more dent-and-ding resistant and not subject to red rust corrosion. Use of aluminum alloy allowed some of the weight savings to be reinvested where it matters the most, especially in the frame that’s the foundation of strength and toughness.FULLY BOXED HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL FRAMEThe fully boxed frame is built of over 95 percent high-strength steel with up to 10 crossmembers. It’s 24 times stiffer than the previous frame. The frame is designed to minimize flexing and twisting while maximizing strength and torsional rigidity — and helps Super Duty achieve the highest payload and tow ratings in its class.RESPONSIVE RIDE, HANDLING AND STEERINGToday’s Ford Super Duty® is engineered with stronger-than-ever frame and axles for superior load-carrying capability. The suspension and steering components are also stronger to deliver the responsiveness and control you need while hauling or towing huge loads on the road or at the job site. And the springs are specifically designed to work with the new frame and take advantage of the lighter aluminum-alloy body.If you still have doubts that Ford is the best American truck, just go out and look at the roads :)

Out of Ford, Dodge, and Chevy, which brand of truck is the most popular in the USA?

Just google it. Ford wins this hands down. That’s not to say that they’re a better truck, but it’s more popular. My argument for those that say Ford is better, or Chevy or Dodge is better is that if any of them were bad trucks, they would be out of business. Ford just clicks with more people for some reason. Because they’ve been #1 for so long it also makes them an easy target for people to say things like “Ford Sucks” “Ford=Found on road dead”. But if this were true, they wouldn’t have been #1 for going on 50 years of sales!!There’s enough of a gap that Ford doesn’t even sell a mid size truck anymore. Even if you combine the Silverado sales with the Colorado sales, then Ford still outsells them by 140,000 units or about 25%!! If you total all four of the GM trucks, then they barely beat the ford F-series. ALL FOUR, that’s the Chevy Silverado & Colorado, plus the GMC Sierra & Canyon.Toyota doesn’t even hit the 50% mark with its Tacoma and Tundra combined.Top 11 Best-Selling Pickup Trucks In America – August 2017

What brand makes a better truck GM or Ford?

GM sells more trucks than Ford. Sure, Ford F-Series is the best selling truck line. But when you combine both Chevrolet and GMC truck sales, GM comes out on top. Remember, F-Series includes everything from the F-150 to the F-750, not just the F-150 as many like to claim. When it comes to half-ton pickups (Silverado 1500 and F-150) Chevrolet sells more, it's the HD (2500/F-250 and up) where Ford dominates.

GM has more trucks on the road than Ford. There are more active Chevrolet Truck registrations than any other pickup on the market since 1981. I myself have two Chevy Suburbans with over 260,000 miles. One has more than 300,000 miles.

In my experience the engineering on GM's trucks is better than both Ford and Dodge. Repairs on a Chevy Truck are far more than on a Ford Truck. For example on the Ford Sports Trac, there is a bar that goes under the back of the Transmission fluid pan. When you go to drain the pan (no drain plug just like the Chevy) the fluid spills onto this bar and instead of going into your drain pan it goes in two different direction and two different spots on your driveway.

You honestly can't go wrong with any truck from the Detroit 3, they all have great quality, great power, etc, but from my experience I found that living with Chevrolet or GMC is far better than one of the others. I also prefer the styling of them over the other trucks.

What is the most reliable semi-truck brand?

There's your problem it's a Volvo. They're worthless. Honestly sped the money and get into a paccar product (peterbilt or kenworth). They're quality is excellent and resale value is also excellent. Stay away from your any volvos and freightshakers. they're problem plagued and well there's not much resale value in them (sorry it's true) honestly our best resale option in a volvo or shaker is to rip the motor (if it's a cummins or caterpillar), trans, and rears out of the truck throw the rest on a step deck and tell them to run it accross the scale at the scrap yard because you'll probably get more money out of it. take SAIA for instance they ran volvo's problem palgued pieces of junk was what they were and now they're buying international's (9400's I believe). 13 letter sh*t spreader's arent' the greatest truck on the road however i'd take that over a volvo or shaker least there is some resale value there. Your dad's best bet is to have you get onto truck paper and find an 02-2007 kenworth or peterbilt with a 475+ horsepower cat in it backed by a 13 or 18spd with overdrive. I would presonally recommend finding an 02 or 03 single turbo cat as the twin tubos did have some problems. if he's worried about fuel economy stay away from a hood (w900/379) however i've seen hoods get the same milage as a catfish (i HATE aerodynamic trucks they look like a catfish). that would be my recommendation also if you happen to find a truck with an O/H GET THE PAPERWORK! caterpillar warrants a good overhaul (platnim overhaul) the gold will only cover the head and cast parts NOT FORGED CAST!!! the platnim will cover almost everything other than the front and rear seals and the turbos if they weren't replaced at the time of the overhaul. that's just my penny on the matter i can't afford 2 cents.

What is a better truck brand Dodge, Ram, or Ford?

At the end of the day it all about what good of a deal you get. You can get upto 20k in discount on trucks.I have a Ford F150 and its been pretty good. Once the dealer didn’t want to cover up some fix as i was out of warranty and Ford customer service helped me out. I heard Ford Customer Service is pretty good and i have couple of instances when they came in handy. Dodge/Ram on the other side are known to have not the best customer service out there.Trucks are built well to take abuse and you can expect them to last atleast 5 years, without any major issues, if you abuse the s**it out of them. On the other hand if you take real good care of it, it will last 10–15 years easily. My truck is 2011 and have 120k miles on it. I dont tow and the maintenance is at its best. I got 7 years and expect to get 7 more easily without any major issues. Even the front end of the truck is Stock from factory and never been replaced.

Which brand of long haul truck is most reliable?

I am from Australia and we have a different system over here where any Long Haul Truck will either be hauling a B-double or a Road train which will weigh upwards of 130,000 lbs or 64 tonnes so they are not running empty something like that with just a Bogie Trailer behind them. I recently read a magazine article where some guy was running what we used to call Coast to Coast with a “Freight-Liner” of all things and was getting up towards six million Miles on it which is 10 million kilometres. It has Two drivers and runs 24/7 or as near as they can to these figures legally. It is powered by a Caterpillar Engine {C-16}.Meanwhile I was talking to a Guy who had a Two year old Freight-liner with a C-16 Cat in it and he said “Never Again” as it was Thirsty and Problematic. Now I believe that the Cat’s are no longer available. Some will work miracles and others not so much. I had a fantastic run out of a Mack way back in time but it was only 300 HP and was hauling two decks of Cattle and was just fantastic back in the 1970’s and I put a Million Kilometres on that truck with no problems at all.I have always loved “Mack” but they are no longer a Mack but are a Volvo product and I have always been suspicious of Volvo because their parts are unreasonably expensive and Ditto for Scania. There is a Guy here in town that has a 10 wheeler that is hauling Gravel and he is using a 35 year old Mitsubishi which he bought brand new and uses all day every day. it has a 300 HP V8 naturally aspirated Diesel engine in it. He tells me it is that reliable that it is Freaky and I have no idea of where he gets his parts from or maybe it never needs any Parts. I almost bought one of those V8 Mitsubishi’s myself but settled for a Nissan UD instead which was for me the most reliable Truck ever although I never did Big Miles in it as it was hauling Gravel on Bad Roads most of its life. I had it for 18 years before I quit it.
