Why do conservatives deny global warming?
Ok, I'm not trying to debate whether human-caused global warming is real. My question is, why is it that conservatives (and especially american conservatives) deny global warming so strongly? I can understand why they would disagree with stuff like the Kyoto agreement (because it involves funding other countries), but why do right-wing people intrinsically distrust science? Why not accept the facts and then debate how to deal with the problem? This could be a separate question, but I'll include it here. People often say that scientists "have" to agree with the global warming theory because their grants come from the government and you don't bite the hand that feeds you. But why is it the vast majority of scientists all over the world agree, regardless of the political inclination of the government ruling them? In particular, (most) american scientists have long agreed, even during periods with republicans in power. I would ask why liberals DO believe it, but it seems to me that trusting the scientists is the logical thing to do. After all, they probably know what they're talking about better than fox news commentators.
What is it about the wealthy that poor conservatives idiolize?
Are the poor conservatives living through the tich vicarouisly? Or do they honestly see the rich as virtuous and charitable? Why do the poor get up in arms when you talk bad about someone with money? Just because one is rich doesn't mesn they made that fortune justly. They most likely stole, lied or given their position.
Why do conservatives seem to only care about money?

EXACTLY!! that why these "conservatives" freely spend money on a useless war, and illegal immigrant public support,etc.... its not their money! its OUR money that we busted our butt for and they are taking it from us! you "conservatives" act like you are any better than liberals, and it really hypocritical. no matter what they say, they are continuing to support these illegal immigrants. more money has been WASTED on this war than any amount of public assistance. at least government assistance is goin to help someone, where this war is dong nothing but makin ppl lives hell, taking security away from innocent children, and taking american lives. yeah, thats a good way to spend 10 billion dollars a month.

What are the differences between a Republican and a Conservative?
If you're referring to US politics exclusively, then one difference is that Republican should have an initial capital letter (since it's short for the Republican Party) and conservative should be all lowercase (since it's only the name of a philosophy, not a proper noun).Many who believe in conservative political policies are Republicans and many who are members of the Republican Party are conservatives, but it's not necessarily the case. Many conservatives find a home for themselves in the Libertarian Party or the Constitution Party or even as Blue Dog Democrats (the moderate wing of the Democratic Party). Republicans, likewise, don't necessarily have to be conservatives. It's very common, but it's not universally true. Its easy to be down as a conservative when supposedly our leaders run the house, senate and white house but accomplish nothing on our agenda. I'm a far right minion myself and hope you can help your husband so it does not effect your marriage and life. One thing to remind him is that conservatives are also the more tolerant bunch and that "hate" is not going to get us anywhere. The left demonstrates tons of hate and we don't need to respond in kind. They just thrive on that; and so the more tolerance we show to their beliefs the angrier we make them and more successful we (conservatives) are. Encourage him to hit this site, a conservative blog, or to write letters to the editor. Tell him to make a difference and not get depressed. Good luck and God bless.
