Ok Do You Run Ceiling Fan When Running Central Condition Or Not

Do ceiling fans run up your electric bill if you leave them running all of the time.?

Yes, they do. However, there are advantages of using them that can offset the cost:

1) If you use other fans or AC, you don't have to use them as long as the ceiling fan helps keep the air moving.
2) In winter, reverse the fan blades so that they push the warm heat back down -- lowers heating costs

Warning: I wouldn't keep them on indefinitely as this would be strain on the lights and electrical system. Some ceiling fans are not installed directly into the main lighting system of the house, I've seen a couple where they are "plugged into" a different source. Cheap people do stupid things.

I wouldn't worry about, especially if it makes you a lot more comfortable. Many people have health conditions that makes the heat and humidity unsafe.

How does keeping the ceiling fan on while the air conditioner is working affect cooling?

Speaking from personal experience…I live in a three story townhouse. The upstairs is always hot in the sumner, no matter how much I run the AC, just from the sun baking the roof.Recently I installed a ceiling fan. I didn’t expect it to change the room temperature, but since air ,moving against your skin evaporates sweat and helps cool you a bit, I figured it might make things a bit more comfortable,To my surprise, the temperature in the room dropped a good five degrees. It’s now comfortable even in the hottest months of summer, A really amazing difference. What apparently happened was: the vents for the hvac system are in the floor. Cold air sinks. So when the cool air from the AC entered the room it tended to stay low to the floor, pooling between my bed and the vents. If I stood in that area my feet could feel the cool air, but it never rose to where I was sleeping. Once I turned on the ceiling fan, however, it caused the air in the room to circulate, pulling chilled air off the floor, and distributing it throughout the room. The difference is dramatic. So while fans don’t make air any colder, they may be able to help the AC do its job, depending on where the AC and fan are positioned,

Should the fan be switched off when the air conditioner is running?

It's better to switch off the fan and let the Air-conditionioner do the job..!In big auditoriums or theatres, It's recommend to use of fan as it will help the flow of air. The flow of air around human body will be taken as a cooling effect[Imagine wind blows on you in cold climate] but we try to avoid usage of fans by the use of jet nozzles.Jet nozzles are good for throwing out air at larger distance & it's a costly proposition. It will require large Air-Handling Units[AHU] and duct works. Still additional cost is justified since usage of fans can be eliminated and cooling capacity can be reduced to an optimum. For residential purposes it's recommend to not use fans at all, It will only increase the consumption of the air-conditionioner, However if your room has a fan, running it for the first five minutes or so will be good for fast cooling and after five minutes switch off the fan & let the A/C do the job..!

Should you run an air conditioner and a ceiling fan together?

Well it depends upon the size of room if the room is big and fan is a bit far from AC say 2–3 meters) then it shouldn't be switched onWhat exactly happens ?AC cools the air , hot air is lighter than the cold air hence hot air occupies the above volume of the room. When you switch on the fan it takes this hot air and mixes it with the cold air resulting in increase in the room temperature (but you won't notice it because you are under the fan which is supplying air)AC has temperature sensor (which switchs on & off the compressor) to maintain the constant temperature (set by the user) now the compressor runs longer time if the fan is on because of gradually mixing of hot and cold air resulting the sensor not to detect exact temperature which leads to formation of ice in the air vent of the AC chamber, this ice blocks the air vents reducing the efficiency of the AC to 50% of the given efficiency. The ice melts over a period of time. This melted ice is the water falling from the AC.

Can I run my central air without the outside fan unit working?

The outside fan is the condensing unit.If the fan is not running it will not be able to remove the heat. This is a big no no, and you could fail the compressor and other components. If you are in a huge pinch, you can use a large box fan blowing on top of the unit and down into it, or pulling the hot air out, this will buy you very little time. You could also run water gently down the coils but this wastes water and also is very dangerous because of electricity. If you fan is NOT running, it’s either a burned up fan motor (easy fix) or a burned up/failed starting capacitor, (easy fix as well).Good luck!

When is the best time to use a ceiling fan in order to minimize air conditioner usage?

Ceiling fan can do two things. One, it mixes the air in the room to keep the temperature from floor-to-ceiling and side to side at the same temperature. Two, it can provide a breeze to make you feel cooler. As far as mixing goes, you might find it advantageous to leave the fan off. If you spend more time sitting, then you will be in cooler air and you may not care if it's a little warmer towards the ceiling. If you spend more time standing then you could be in warmer air near the ceiling and in this case you would want to turn the fan on.For the breeze effect to be more effective, you would turn the fan so it blows their downward and try to sit underneath the fan. If you had to sit on the edge of the room, then you should operate the fan blowing upward so that circulates air across the ceiling and Down the Walls.

Can a dog be okay without air conditioning during the summer in an apt?

We might be moving into a huge 2,000 sq ft warehouse loft next month, but it does not have air conditioning. We have a dog and 2 cats. We live in Philadelphia so it gets hot in the summer. There is a huge fan up on the high ceiling and we will probably put an air conditioner in the window in the bedroom area, since there are walls around the bedroom. For the most part, it wont be air conditioned. I am worried that the dog will pass out or get over-heated. Should I be worried?

Why is there a fan mode in air conditioner?

Fan mode usually results to lower power consumption because the compressor is turned off. The AC is not producing cool air but you are getting improved ventilation which helps lower temperatures by some degree. An AC unit on Fan mode usually consumes about 150 W with the fan running, while the AC unit consumes 1000 W when on default or Cool mode. However, the difference in power consumption will largely depend on a few factors such as how cool the unit is set to. If the unit is set to cool quickly, you only get a relatively small difference in power consumption, although Fan mode would still utilize lesser power just the same. It is also important to consider the efficiency of running AC on Fan mode compared to running an ordinary fan. Using an ordinary stand fan is considerably more energy efficient compared to running AC on fan mode so consider using an ordinary fan and turning the AC off on days when the weather is relatively cool and you just want added ventilation. It is also important to consider the efficiency of ventilation provided by either a fan or AC on Fan mode. The latter draws just a little bit of air in, while an ordinary fan is more efficient in drawing air from the outside and circulating it inside. This allows you to cool a warm indoor space with cooler air from the outside for small.
