Ok I Just Got Hired At Six Flags Great America As A Ride Operator/attendant. Are We Required To

Are there any Quora users who vividly remember the segregated South? If so, what are your most memorable recollections?

First I would like to point out that segregation was not just limited to the South. I grew up in Southern Indiana, and segregation was alive and well there as well. I was born in 1940, and when I was 9 or 10 years old, my dad took us to a football game at the one “Black” high school that blacks were permitted to attend. My Dad was a part of a group of Jaycees who helped support the school. My mother had a black maid the entire time I lived at home, so I grew up with a black lady as part of my home environment. I am so very thankful she was a part of my life. I never heard any racial slurs at home, but I heard them outside the home all the time. The blacks lived in a neighborhood near the center of town, and were not allowed to purchase a home outside that area. They could work only in menial jobs that paid little.I would also point out that my dad din’t have any black employees. To his credit, he paid the entire amount of our maids FICA and Social Security; nothing was deducted from her pay. When she could not work any longer, she was able to retire with a social security check every month. Later, she became ill, and my mother, a retired nurse, would visit her regularly and take her to the doctor when needed. But believe me that was not the norm. There were no lynchings in Indiana that I was aware of, but they continued in the South and I heard of them from time to time. I vividly remember the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Bobby Kennedy, who dared to face the bigots and challenge their activities, while asking only for peace and equal treatment that our Constitution calls for. I was saddened to think of the hatred that accompanied the era, and still feel the same way.I am a Freemason, and the one criticism I had concerning that institution was the lack of black members, and the refusal of Masonic Lodges to recognize the Prince Hall Masons (who are black). Then the Grand Lodges began to recognize Prince Hall Masons, except the Southeastern states, who, as one might expect, continue in their bigotry. I am a Texas Mason, and so very proud that we, as most of the state Grand Lodges, now not only recognize Prince Hall Masons, but also accept people of color, and of various religions into our lodges.

Fear Of Not Being Strapped Into a Rollercoaster Correctly ?

Don't worry. Each ride is inspected & tested every morning before the park opens to ensure safety for all guests. Most of the coasters are equipped with monitoring systems that will notify an operator if anyone isn't restrained properly or if one isn't working. Some won't even let the coaster start if a rider isn't secured safely. Plus, the ride operators have procedures where they have to check every rider's restraints before giving the all clear. Also, as a little fun fact, it's been proven through accident reports, and tests that rollercoasters are safer than carousels. I know, it seems unrealistic but it's true. So don't worry, you will have a great time with your friends and enjoy every thrill. Have Fun & Make It A Six Flags Day!!

Does anyone know how large the seats are on most of the rides at Six Flags?

I am plus size and I know how you feel. I don't know which six flags you are going to but I can tell you about Six Flags Magic Mountain. First some info: I'm 5'5", 260, sz 24w, most of my weight in my stomach area with big boobs.
I have trouble with these rides:
-Scream (look for special seats with 2 seatbelts - rows 3 and 4 have them, made for larger persons-I can make it, barely)
-Batman (I hadn't done it in years till I lost some weight and now can barely fit-the attendant usually helps buckle me in-its the boobs and gut area the problem on this ride)
-Riddlers revenge - forget it if you are anything over 18w
-Dejavu - haven't tried yet, heard I will fit, but afraid cuz of the whole dynamics of the ride...sure, lets hold the big girl, face down, only by the restraints for 2-3 minuites! my cousin did it, but thank you, I'll skip it!
-X (fits good, even when I was 300 lbs+ but doesn't seem very secure- but then again doesn't seem very secure on the stick figures either- but no accidents from them to date)
-swinging boat ride (you know, side to side thing - they redid the bars a few years ago and now they are pretty small, my friend did it when she was an 18w, but I haven't been able to)

Everything else is ok, except if you have large thighs you might be a bit uncomfortable on Revolution, but still fit, just sort of squeezed. And surprisingly Tatsu is very fat friendly, even though you are hanging the whole time, you feel very secure because of the way its set up.
Hope this helps (if this is the park ur going to). Just avoid the rides you won't fit right on and go have some chili fries (they are the bomb there). My motto is, the scariest part of the rides is the seatbelt, after that, its all gravy!

Have fun!

If my bank mistakenly deposits $1,000,000 into my account, am I legally allowed to spend it before they realize their mistake?

Once a bank deposited mistakenly 150,000 in my account, I took it all and when bank sent me a notice, I refused to pay. The bank then collected the money from my other bank account which was with same bank. The bank informed me that how mistake was done. It was due to same debit card number on diffrent accounts. I went to a lawyer and sued the bank 1. Mishandling accounts2. Intention to create negetive credit report (before this incident I tried to apply for a loan and bank refused it since I had bad credit score)3. Agnoy caused. 4. Mental harrasment. The case was judged in my favor and bank needed to pay me another 250,000 as damages. Court also ordered bank to pay 150,000 to the person who lost money and damages of 100,000 Soon after this the bank manager was changed and bank forced closed my accounts giving reason a really bad credit report and as a negetive customer. I again filed a case against them since no bank can deny your account on basis of credit report. Since now this time it was in media, bank settled the case outside the court giving me 500,000 and 250,000 to my lawyer. Later after a year I applied for a loan under certain special conditions and bank approved it without going for in depth investigation. I was unable to pay installment on time so they sent a recovery agent to me who tried to force money illegally, since I have CCTV installed, I had all proofs that it was bank's agent trying to harras me. I sent it all to my same lawyer again and before any case could be filed, a settlement was made in which bank closed my loan and offered me a million dollar as damages. I again applied for loan bank approved it and even I don't pay my installments on time bank never calls me or sends a reminder. You see you need to have presence of mind and a good lawyer.
