Okay Should I Go To Sleep Or Not

Okay to take nyquil to fall asleep when not sick?

i have trouble sleeping
and its pissing me off. u guys gotta understand the pain of trying to sleep early in order to wake up early. but all you do it lay in bed for hours trying to sleeping getting angrier and angrier as the minutes tick by and you want to beat the living hell out of everything that makes noise.
And when you do sleep its the worst sleep possible
you can't tell whether its real life or ur dreaming and you wake up here and there

i can't take this **** anymore. im in college. been running on a total of ATMOST 5 hrs of sleep for the past 3 days. i have a lot of classes and stuff to do. i also want to lift weights like last semester. But im dieing because i can't sleep.

also i have 8 am classes. waking up early is not a problem. sleeping is the problem.

please tell me what works. i have tried everything natural possible. darkness, tiredness like navy seal trainee tired, silent, warm showers, eating a lot of food/milk, reading a book. now im turning to medicine which i don't want to do but i have no choice. I have to sleep.

Thing is nyquil is not a sleeping medicine. its a cold/flu med that makes u drowsy.

first off is it okay? and 2nd if its okay for how long? take the normal prescribed amount? more/less?

if its bad for me. why? and what else is better? i don't have time for this prescription crap right now nor do i have money for specially prescribed meds. I need something over the counter.

thanks

Is it okay to take Valium for sleeping?

Duke does not know what he is talking about.

Let me make sure I understand your question, you typically take a total of 25 Valium tablets every month for sleep.

Are you prescribed 1 or 2 tablets at night?

And if you have a few days in between each dose how are you using 25 tablets?

Also what is the dose? Valium comes in 2, 5, and 10 mg tablets.

Are you asking if you can take two tablets or are you asking if it is safe to take Valium?

Two tablets certainly won't come close to killing you or anything like that. But NEVER take more than is prescribed.

If you are asking if Valium is OK to take for sleep then I would say no. Valium is NOT a sleeping pill. It is sedating and may cause some people to sleep and that can give the appearance it is a hypnotic. However Valium greatly interrupts sleep architecture (brain waves when sleeping) so taking Valium for sleep might let you sleep a full night but it will not be restorative or healthy. Valium is a good drug for some problems but not insomnia. And depending on the dose you take it is probably not a very good idea.

There are approved hypnotics that don't seriously alter you sleeping, zolpidem, zaleplon, zopiclone, eszopiclone and temazepam are among the best options. These drugs are only for sleep and not anxiety where as Valium is for anxiety (and other things) but not sleep.

So do yourself a favour and see your doctor about another medication.

And just so you know Valium and similar drugs can cause physical dependency however this is not addiction.

Addiction can be defined as follows:
Substance dependence (addiction) is the repeated and maladaptive use of a substance, despite clinically significant impairment or distress due to continued use of the substance. People addicted to opioids, alcohol, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or other sedative/hypnotics (chloral hydrate, meprobamate, carisoprodol) are also typically physically dependent.

So make sure you know what addiction is and what it is not.

Is it ok to go to sleep with your hair wet?

If it's only slightly damp, than there should be no problem with that, but if it's any wetter, than I would recommend you get it dried first before you go to sleep because it can give you constant headaches if you keep doing it. It makes you more prone to migraines and headaches.

Can I go to sleep after I have a nosebleed?

I get nosebleeds frequently late at night or early morning. I know how to stop and prevent them. However when I get them late at night I never know if it's okay for me to go back to sleep as soon as I've stopped the bleeding.

P.S. Please don't tell me what to do to prevent or stop my nosebleed, I already know that

Its 4:30 AM and I need to be up at 7 AM, should I go sleep or stay awake?

It depends on how awake you are. Wide awake or just awake enough to post this question without spelling and grammar errors? If you are wide awake, wake up. Read stuff on quora..write something, read a book, exercise…anything. If you are not wide awake, go back to sleep. Sleep is best during these hours.

Is it okay to take headache medication and then go to sleep?

Bad headache. I woke up went downstairs took water and took a dose of ibuprofen that is under my wieght group. Infact I'm way above the weight I took the dose for. Is that okay? Should I wait or can I go to bed?
