My 2 year old ps2 slim loads certain game discs really slowly?
I have a hacked ps2 slim which i brought by train. it was running games perfectly until the journey, but after it, Games like dragon ball z:bt3, gta:vice city stories and naruto: un4 Get stuck during gameplay. in vice city stories, a dialog box with "Loading..." just appears, stays there for 5 minutes and then gets unstuck for 5 seconds, then reappears. Games like bully and god of war tell me tat disc cover is open, evn wen its closed. The few games tat still run perfectly r Burnout:Revenge and Mortal Kombat:Shaolin Monks... 1 thing tat occurs in all discs is tat d disc suddenly stops rotating, and wen i give a little pressure on d disc cover, it runs again...My friends tell me tat d lens is busted or d disc cover is damaged, n tat both have to be replaced... Please tell me wat u think i gotta do...

PS2 Won't Read Certain Discs?
ok first you need a Philips head screw driver. take out all of the little black squares and thar will be little screws take your Philips head screw driver and unscrew them take the top off and thar will be a big black square unscrew them screws with a littler Philips head screw driver take that square off and thar will be a little eye get a damp rag and wipe it off gently that's pretty much it o yea put it back together but it should work☺☺☺☺
PS2 Not reading PS2 discs?
How old is your PS2? Eventually the lasers on them wear out (actually it's not the laser that wears out but the lens that focuses it that burns out). When that happens they usually stop playing PS2 games and DVDs first because those discs have more lines of data on them and are harder for the laser to focus on than CDs and PS1 games which have fewer lines. It happened to my PS2 years ago and I bought a replacement laser assembly from eBay and fitted it myself which got it going again. As mentioned above you should try clening the laser lens first though, the best way to do this is to open the PS2 and using a cotton bud (or Q-tip if you're American) and some CD cleaning fluid gently swab the lens. Allow to dry and reassemble. Failing that the newer slimline PS2 is not very expensive to buy these days, or perhaps it's time for PS3? Hope you get it sorted, good luck :)
Slim PS2 has problems running discs?
It might only be a mere lens problem, try cleaning the lens, take a q-tip, put some alcohol on it, and clean lens gently in circular motion. If you see no changes call Sony (if you don't know their number find it on their website). They'll give you directions where to send your console for repair, if your warranty has expired you'll have to pay around $50 for repair.
My ps2 is making a weird noise and wont read discs....help please?
clean the disc. you can use a liiiiiitle bit of water, but i prefer alcohol if you have some. if that doesn't work, then blow hot air from your mouth to the back side of the disc. if you have done all of that, then you can clean the play station 2 with a cloth or toilet paper or a napkin. put a liiiitle bit of alcohol, which i prefer, on the part that receives the disk. that should work. if that doesn't, then you can take it to the shop. -.- (which i hate but is the only chance to playing the ps2 again.) ultimately, if THAT doesn't work, then the only chance to play a ps2 is to buy it again at a store. :(
