One Fancy Word To Describe Cordelia Chase

What does ''college'' mean in australia?

Some schools, particularly private schools, refer to themselves as colleges.
A college may also be a division of a university. For example, the division of the Australian National University which teaches law is called the College of Law.
There are also residential colleges, which provide accommodation and other facilities for students, but are not involved in teaching.
Then there are professional associations which refer to themselves as colleges, like the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

What does it mean for someone to be 'full of themselves'? Why are some people 'full of themselves'?

If someone is full of themselves they have an unrealistic and exalted sense of their own worth, importance, appearance, accomplishments, status, or influence. The idea is self-absorption with one's own qualities and believing they are superior to the qualities of all others. It also entails a failure to recognize one's own shortcomings. Synonyms would be narcissistic, egotistical, grandiose. In relation to your question details, in my observations people who have such an exalted opinion of their own self-importance tend to magnify any perceived insult, sleight, or offense. They tend to respond with the attitude "How dare you do that to me?! Don't you know who I am?" In the same way, their sense of importance makes their problems important, as compared to the less important problems of less important people. It is not wrong to honestly assess your strong points, as long as you balance that with honestly assessing your weak ones. In my opinion, the balance point would be not to think of yourself more highly or more lowly than you ought.Idioms like this one occur in most languages and even in ancient languages. Some start through idiosyncratic behaviors of a particular region or because they create a mental picture which conveys a concept.

Help with character's pictures and names?

Another girl! Hehehe...sorry, I forgot to post this one....
Hair: shaggy hair; with side bangs, lots of layers, like a dog’s, some shade of red or black
Eyes: hazel, bright and sparkling if the hair is red; if the hair is black, the eyes are blue gray; almond shaped with impossibly long lashes
Body: lithe and very light weighted, delicately boned and petite
Face: very cute; with a distinct puppy like expression; huge eyes and tiny nose that wrinkles when she smiles =]

Thanks again!

What does sensationalistic mean?

to "sensationalize" something means to go above and beyond the normal telling of something. The tabloids are notorious for taking a story and putting a spin on it until it is blown all out of proportion and bears often times almost no resemblance to the truth.
The current sensationalistic story the media seems to be favouring is the story of the octuplet Mom in California. While this story is indeed newsworthy, it hardly needs to be competing with the economic stimulus bill, etc., and yet it has been covered so much it has become "sensationalized" and taken on a life of its own.

Do you like the name Charisma!!?

I love the name Charisma. It's highly uncommon and has a beautiful sound. Always makes me think of the shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, because Charisma is the name of the actress who played Cordelia Chase.

FYI: Who cares if it also happens to be a word? The same is true for so many other names. For example: Grace, Rose, Summer, Autumn, Hope, Heather, Felicity, Ruby...

Who is your favourite Buffy The Vampire Slayer character?

Tara Maclay for sure.  I really love Tara so much because I can relate to her quiet determination and I admire how kind she was. I feel that she brought the best out of the scoobies, especially Willow. Also, her character development was so wonderful. She went from being passive and awkward (not that there is anything wrong with being passive and awkward, it just seemed like those traits were affecting how she viewed herself in relation to her peers) to being more confident and independent, which was shown when she left Willow in Season 6.Being a generally introverted observer, Tara was excellent at understanding other people and knowing what they needed, like in "The Body" when she told Buffy about her mother. She knew that Buffy needed to hear that it actually gets better and she expressed that she was there for her in the most sincere way. In addition, she showed so much affection and kindness to Dawn, Willow and Buffy when they needed it, like when she defended Willow's choice to not use magic to get out of Buffy's house during her party in Season 6, or when Buffy confided in her about Spike. Knowing what it was like to be an outsider, she made Dawn feel less excluded, like in Season 5 when there was a dead body in the Magic Box and she sat with Dawn outside, acting as a close sisterly figure to her. Not to mention her incredible impact on the lgbt+ community. Seeing Tara have a happy and warm relationship, along with several close friendships, made me feel so much more comfortable with being gay and I am so thankful for her character. She deserved so much better.

Do feminists consider Joss Whedon one of their own?

For me - yes. Now and forever - yes.Although you can point to maybe one or two “strong feminine role models” on TV before he arrived on the scene, the vast majority of them were there to be eye candy for men.If you take Wonder Woman for example - maybe the first female superhero - she was not, by any stretch of the imagination - a role model for women. She was there just to give something men to look at.The first person you could maybe make a case for is Xena, in 1995. But that was really about it.And then Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg and Cordelia Chase EXPLODED onto the scene, soon to be joined by Kendra, Faith and - in the final series - a host of others.Girls who were not there just for men to gawk at and droll over, but who were their own women, and who took no shit from no one.And what followed was a whole host of empowered women in a multitude of different shows. He may not have written them, but Buffy Summers laid the foundation for a generation and created a legacy that exists even to this day.He followed it up with River Tam, with Zoe Wasburne, with Echo, with Agent May, with Jemma Simmons, with Daisy Johnson.Women who blazed a trail and wiped the floor with their male counterparts. He created an entirely new world, and it is a world that so many people got to play in - that so many people owe their worlds to - that I think it will endure for a very, very long time.
