One Of My Cats I Have 2 Sits In Front On The Heat Vent. Is This Ok

How can I keep my sanity while my cat is in heat?

I have three cats and believe me,it is a real nightmare when they go on heat. But every cat owner/lover needs to understand that this "heat" is a natural process and part of every cat's lifecycle. Yeah,I know the noises you hear will seem weird or creepy but that's how they get at this time. It's best to spay or neuter your cat as soon as six months to avoid this Bi-weekly nightmare. If you've not yet spayed kitty, here are a few tips to help tide over this time: 1.try and distract kitty with toys that make noise, like rattles or bells. Toss it at kitty and see if he or she enjoys playing with it. 2. If kitty does not quiten after a long time (and you feel your ears bleeding)take the lil noise maker in your lap and give him or her tummy rubs. Cuddle kitty.3. Finally when it's time to sleep, try and keep kitty in a room that has a door. Place the litter box, food, water and toys for kitty in that room and close the door. Make sure that there is some ventilation as well. A porch,balcony,sit-out area or a large bathroom usually make the best options.goodnight!!

Is it bad for my cat to sleep on a heating vent?

My cat spends 23 hours a day on a heating vent. I am sure it's not healthy and I can't coax him to another sleeping spot. It is below zero outside and the vent is on a lot of the time and the cat is getting too much hot air. Any ideas?

Is it normal for my dog to sit infront of the radiator?

In our livingroom, he'll sit infront of it so that his fur is against it. We had a heater fire that he used to sit and get heat from it but we got a new one and the heat comes from the top so he moved to the radiator. In our hall, he'll also sit infront of the radiator and if I move his bed in my room, he'll sit infront of my radiator? Is it bad for him? He can sleep there for hours?

He's a short haired 5 month old Staffy.

Can I cover my heating vent with a couch?

I just bought a huge sectional and didn't realize until I got it in my living room that no matter which way I position it it will cover one of my two floor heating vents in the room. The couch is about an inch or two off the ground.. so it's not directly sitting on the vent... but is this going to be bad for my furnace? And should I try to cover the vent with something.. like a piece of aluminum foil or something? I realize it may affect how warm it is in the room..but I'm willing to accept that, I just want to make sure it's safe.

My cat constantly sit beside the radiator and it's quite hot, is it bad for them?

As long as they don't burn, they are OK.

My dogs always lay by the heater vent or the fireplace?

It doesn't necessary mean that they are cold and need a sweater, but maybe just that they are looking for the comfort that the fire offers. That feeling of warmth that could remind them of being snuggled up against you or their mother.
