Ear piercing hurts?
my ear piercing area started to hurt about 2 or 3 days ago and today it hurt the most. it only hurts when i touch the earring or when i moving my head a lot. other than that, it does not really hurt. it's not oozing yellow stuff or bleeding and it's not red and swollen so i don't think that it's infected. but i'm not sure. it is it infected? what should i do? my ears might be sensitive to the earrings i am wearing because theyre sterling silver and costs only 10 bucks. also, i've been wearing them for a while now but i've been cleaning them at least once or twice a week. could it be that i've been wearing the earrings for too long?
Only my left ear piercing hurts?
So I got my ears pierced about a year and four months ago and I kept the original piercings in for the recommended time, but ever since my left piercing has been hurting on and off. My right is ear is completely fine, even if I accidently tug at it, it won't swell up or anything. But my left ear will become swollen and red every few weeks. It feels hard, as if something is inside of it. What should I do? The earring is out now, because I thought it was fine so I took my earring out but when I woke up it hurt. I used to sleep on my left side but now I don't.
Ear piercing hurts after a week?
If your piercings were infected you'd have darker yellow/green pus that usually has an odor to it. Soreness is completely normal throughout the healing process. They might be sore for a few more days, they might be sore off and on the entire healing time. Lobe piercings take 2-3 months to heal completely when done properly with a hollow needle, 4-6 months when done with a piercing gun as they cause excessive trauma. An infected piercing should never be removed until the infection has cleared up. Make sure you're keeping them clean by doing sea salt soaks twice a day for 5-10 minutes each soak with 1/4th of a teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt to 8oz of hot water. Stop touching your piercings, there is no reason to be touching them and you definitely don't want to twist or rotate them. If you were pierced with a piercing gun you really should get to a reputable piercer and get proper jewelry put in.
Do upper ear piercings hurt?
I had three piercings done on the cartilage of one of my ears... maybe three years ago? Four? Anyway. The pain is not too bad. My first one hurt, but it wasn't unbearable. It's a sharp, quick pain - after it's pierced it feels more tender than actually sore. The other two hurt more, because my ear was already oversensitive by that point. But, once again, it was bearable, and I have a rather low pain threshold. The healing process was definitely the worse for me. The ear was very tender for about a month afterwards, and I had to get used to avoid touching it while doing simple things like combing my hair. I also learned how to sleep on my other side, and had to avoid putting my phone up to that ear. My piercings developed keloids (an overgrown scar), which weren't painful exactly, but they made the healing much longer. All in all, it took about 2-2.5 years until my piercings were closed, and I lost one of them in the process. So my point is, the pain isn't too bad. Maybe a 3/10? But the healing takes a very long time, and it can be an annoying, sometimes even painful process.

Ear piercing hurts after 4 months still?
Is that the ear you sleep on? If so, try putting two body pillows on either side of you, so you stay on your back. It took ages for my ears to heal, if I remember correctly. Taking the earring out will close up the hole very quickly. Try using a gold earring; for me, it healed faster with gold.
What should I do if an old ear piercing starts to hurt?
If you haven’t already, see either an ENT physician or a dermatologist and if you can’t get an appointment soon, go to an urgent care centerd. It is possible to have an infection of the skin that remains subcutaneous (under the skin), so that only redness and soreness appear at the surface. This infection could spread to the cartilage that forms your ear.Don’t treat it yourself with cover-the-counter medicines, and that includes alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. And, yes, you should take out the piercing.
Is it normal for one earlobe piercing to hurt more than the other?
I got my second earlobe piercings done two days ago and one hurts more than the other. I ve been cleaning them properly and making sure not to do anything to irritate them but the one in my left ear is very sore when I clean it or touch it in general where as the other is fine when I clean it. The one that hurts was pierced a little bit further up than the one on the right, closer to my cartilage, does that have anything to do with it?
