One word to describe Beijing?

PEKING. Since the old British place-names have been replaced by the "correct" vernacular names, all the new ones sound ugly and low-class. Beijing is just one. Think of Guangzhou (Canton), Nanjing (Nanking). Chongching (Chunking).
And that's just China : think of Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Mumbai (Bombay), Bangladesh (Bengal), Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma).

What are some words to describe Chinese?

I want to share my views on features of Chinese people in this answer. In my personal opinion, Chinese can be described using these words:● Diligent“No pains, no gains” is a well-known saying in China, considering that opportunities are hard to grasp for us dream chasers unless we are well prepared. Competition is a spur to success, so all the Chinese people believe that endeavor vanquishes all -- not inconstant, spasmodic, or ill-directed endeavor, but faithful, unremitting, daily effort toward a well-directed purpose. Let's see the worldwide labor participation rate, the round area represents the total amount of labor, and China is the biggest one; the horizontal axis represents the labor participation rate, in which China reached 76% and led the world.● GastronomeChinese regard food as one of the most precious things worth working on. Real Chinese cuisine tastes like heaven. We usually greet each other with the phrase “吃了吗(Chī le ma)?" or "吃饭了吗(Chī fàn le ma)?" In traditional Chinese culture, where food is strongly attached to people's emotions and stressed with the utmost importance. "你吃了吗(nǐ chī le ma)?" literally translates into "Have you eaten?", but in everyday usage "你", or "you" is omitted for simplicity. Please note that this kind of saying hello is often used between old friends or neighbors. Therefore,"Have you eaten?" is slightly different from "How are you?" and closer to the meaning of “How is everything going?” What's more, Chinese appreciate the art of eating and are really good at cooking as well. There are virtually endless varieties, with each province boasting specialties that form completely separate cuisine.● FriendlyChinese have been known as friendly people since ancient times. In the present era, we are still polite and kind to those who come from all nations, and welcome everyone to our elegant motherland. We are always willing and prepared to give directions when tourists are lost, as well as introduce the local customs and sincerely hope everyone will be able to enjoy themselves visiting China.

How would one describe World War 2?

Well there are many different approaches. Most people like the philosophical point of view, so to make my answer more interesting I will go along with that, but they will have to be some political standpoints. The Primary Example of why Man should fear themselves. The Second World War was effectively a continuation of the First World War, as in the First World War, the Central Powers surrendered before the Allies would invade further into their territories. The Central Powers had unfinished work to do - well, that’s how most of them saw it. We have to remember the Empire of Japan and Italy were Allies in World War I, but the Empire of Japan and newly formed Fascist Italy became two of the main three Axis Powers; The Empire of Japan, Fascist Italy, and Nazi Germany. Changing sides to benefit their domestic wants. The extreme and brutal war that was the deadliest conflict in our history. All it took was a countable amount of men to bring the World to it’s knees. Men like Benito Mussolini, Emperor Hirohito, and Adolf Hitler: Humans who sought the destruction of their fellow brothers and sisters. And we are only talking about Axis leaders here.We ripped possibly 80 Million of our own to shreds, people who were innocent of any crime. We plunged the millions of innocent lives into times of horror and death, just to blackmail the person who governed over them - one single person. We created a weapon of unimaginable potential just to kill yet another thousands of people. What for? When taking the ideas of brotherhood into account and excluding politics, we cannot answer that question reasonably. Are humans too smart for their own good? Finally, I believe the Second World War and all the Wars that came after it prove that War is a driving force that gives us meaning (there is a book on this very topic). What kind of power rests within our hands?
