Opinion Of Orange Tabby Cats

What type of personality do Ginger Tabby cats have?

You know what they say about gingers…80% of them are male. (Calico and Tortoiseshell Cats are almost always female)3 different orange tabbies in the photo will produce 3 distinct personalities. Coat Colorations have no identifying personality traits. Here are some fun facts about orange tabbies though!“Tabby” refers to their coat marking and not a specific breed. Persians, American Bobtails, Munchkin Cats, Abyssinian, Maine coons, British Shorthairs, and Domestic Shorthairs can all be ginger tabbies.Tabbies all have an “M” marking on their foreheadOrange tabbies with tiger stripes are considered to have a “mackerel” patterned coat. Other patterns include classic, striped, and ticked.Winston Churchill’s Marmalade tabby was named Jock and sat in on cabinet meetings. Additionally, no one was allowed to eat until Jock was settled at the table.Ginger Tabbies can also develop freckles!Orange tabbies are more likely to be adopted than black cats because they are perceived to be friendlier, which is a myth.

Are tabby cats more affectionate than other cats?

Not necessarily. I have three, all from the same litter and raised in the exact same environment, and they all have very different ideas of what is an acceptable amount of affection to give them. Cats’ behaviors have very little, if anything, to do with their appearances, as far as commonly observable evidence goes. That being said, I will say that in my own personal experience, I have known cats of all colors, and I have noticed a couple small trends in my own cats. It’s probably all in my head, but every tuxedo cat I’ve ever met has been terribly smart and a bit of a d-bag. I’ve got two at the moment, and they both are much smarter than they need to be, a trait which they use against me on a daily basis. I’ve also had a lot of luck with ginger cats, although my current half-ginger is way less affectionate than any of the others I’ve had.If I were to judge from my own experiences, I would say the most affectionate cats are long-haired full gingers, but anyone you ask on here will probably have a different opinion. There’s no set mold that all cats fit into, and if you want one who is affectionate, the only way you’ll be able to tell for sure is if you take the time to get to know them. It would be great if we could just point out a calico and say “yup, she’s friendly,” but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint), every cat is different.

What Are Orange & White CATS CALLED?

i hope you didnt pay a bengal price for your cat because there is no way at all it is a bengal!

only 3% of cats are actual breeds the rest are dlh or dsh..domestic long/short hairs. purebred cats are very expensive and only about 2% are allowed to roam outdoors, of that 2% only about 1% are active and so the chances of a dhl or dsl mating with a pure bred is practically none, even then the kitten would be simply dsh dlh

so unless you paid a shed load of money and have the papers to prove it, although its very cute, its nothing special
being born with marking like a bengal does not make a bengal, a bengal is a hybrid asian leopard cat/domestic and is only born of those lines i.e only bengal parents have bengal kittens

even then a cat has to be regisered with ether the gccf or tica to be considered anything other than a domestic long or short hair, and you can only register if you have tica/gccf proof that both parents were purebreds

your cat is not a bengal both - its parents are domestic, tabby refers to colour differation not breed as does names like tuxedo and calico, the only breed i can think of that is orange and white is a turkish van but even then yours is in no way bengal and i highly doubt its father was a turkish van- the breeders would have told you

Are orange cats any different in personality or intelligence?

I really have no basis for comparison, never having had an orange cat lol! I have had several cats over the years, though.By far, the most personable and most intelligent cat I've ever had was a solid black male, his name was Midnight (it's trite, I know, my niece named him lol!). Midnight would jump from the floor into my arms and headbutt my chin over and over, purring his little black rear off! The first time he did that it scared the crap out of me. I had no idea he was anywhere around, and suddenly I had a little ball of fur on me! Still don't know if his mindset was “I know he'll catch me because he loves me”, or if it was more like “The human will catch me because I expect him to”…anyone who has cats knows exactly what I mean lol!Midnight would play fetch, too. I wadded up a piece of paper one night and tossed it toward the trash can. I missed and thought, “I'll pick it up in a minute.” A few minutes later I got up for some reason, and there at my feet was the wad of paper and a little black cat sitting and looking at me! I thought, “No way. Cats don't do that!” So I picked it up and tossed it again, and sure enough, he went and got it, brought it back, and dropped it at my feet! Still not sure who trained whom, though…!Punkin is a black calico. If I'm in another room when the microwave dings, she'll come and tell me. If Jaws, my pit bull, is chewing on something, she snitches him out. She tells me when it's time to scoop the box (at least 4 times a day lol!)But no, I don't believe a cat's color has anything to do with their intelligence or personality. It's more a function of how much time you spend with them. :)

Curious on opinions re: male calico?

I see no calicos in those pictures. Calicos are white cats with large splotches of black and red (orange). Neither of those kittens have any red (the warm beige on the brown tabby is the normal ground color for a brown tabby). The boy is a brown mackerel tabby-and-white.

Are ginger-colored cats considered to be the most loving as cats go?

Well, my two favorite cats ever were black females. So of course I’m going to tell you that, in my experience, black females (especially if they’re ex-ferals) are the most loving cats. With that said, most cats have the ability to be very loving - it mostly depends on how you react to their way of showing it. If you get a kitten but are always too busy to let it sit on your lap and cuddle, then it isn’t going to turn into an obviously loving lap cat. It doesn’t mean the cat doesn’t love you, just that he or she has learned that climbing on you doesn’t work. As an example, we have a 6-month old kitten right now who we rescued at about 6 weeks old (yes, everyone - I know that’s too young for a kitten to leave Mom, but this one is a rescued kitten not one we went out and bought). I tend to do lots of cuddling with cats, but my husband tends not to really sit still long enough for a cat to settle on his lap. So she’s learned that he’s the one who throws toys for her to fetch, and I’m the one she crawls up on when she wants a cuddle or a nap. I would say she’s very loving, but he sees her more as a “crazy kitten” who just wants to play. If you want a very openly loving ginger cat, then adopt a ginger and make lots of time just to cuddle with him when he’s very young.
