Opinion On My Writing- My Own Book

Read and share your opinion on my writing piece?

That was really good and u answered my question earlier if u want to chat about writing I want to share my work with a relatable person can u kik me at macdaddy3388

What is your opinion of the book Call Of the Wild?

revolutionary. I think it was the first to expose cruelty to animals. it was the forerunner to animal farm by george orwell in showing the animals to be more human than the humans. check the end of the book where buck decides not to have anything to do with humans at all because it hurts him too much to lose those he loves.

did you know this was the first book to sell for a million dollars????

Help on writing a sex scene in my book?

Step 1 Never compare a woman's nipples to:

•Cherries
•Cherry pits
•Pencil erasers
•Frankenstein's bolts
Nipples are tricky. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and shades. They do not, as a rule, look like much of anything, aside from nipples. So resist making dumbshit comparisons.

Note: I am guilty of the last.

Step 2 Never, ever use the words penis or vagina.

There is no surer way to kill the erotic buzz than to use these terms, which call to mind -- my mind, at least -- health classes (in the best instance) and (in the worst instance) venereal disease.

As a rule, in fact, there is often no reason at all to name the genitals. Consider the following sentence:

'She wet her palm with her tongue and reached for my penis.'

Now consider this alternative:

'She wet her palm with her tongue and reached for me.'

Is there any real doubt as to where this particular horndoggle is reaching?

Step 2a Resist the temptation to use genital euphemisms, unless you are trying to be funny.

No: Tunnel of Love, Candy Shop, Secret Garden, Pleasure Gate

Equally No: Flesh Kabob, Magic Wand, Manmeat

Especially No: Bearded Clam, Tube Steak, Sperm Puppet

I could go on, but only for my own amusement.

Step 3 Then again, sometimes sex is funny.

And if you ever saw a videotape of yourself in action, you'd agree. Don't be afraid to portray comic aspects. If one of your characters, in a dire moment of passion, hits a note that sounds eerily like Celine Dion, duly note this. If another can't stay hard, allow him to use a ponytail holder for an improvised cock ring. And later on, if his daughter comes home and demands to know where her ponytail holder is, well, so be it.

How can I develop my writing skills so that I can publish my own book?

Publishing a book is a milestone in your writing journey. It will come. But first, you need to hone your craft. Here are some tips based on what I've done. These might or might not work for you!Read a lot. Take the time to stop and re-read the passages you enjoyed, to see what the writer did there. Try and inculcate that skill, first through imitation, then practice, and finally an integrated weapon in your writing arsenal.Become a dedicated student of the language you write in. Learn it well, and keep learning. Know it technically and stylistically.Write. Every chance you get. Not just that magnum opus novel or work related articles. Write everywhere. Write on Quora. Write blogs. Write impassioned Facebook posts. Write even your WhatsApp messages like they are delicate prose.Invite and welcome feedback. Especially from those who read and write themselves. Be open but also be grounded in your own craft. Don't let the overly negative ones get you down. Don't let the fluffy pleasers let you rise too high. Take the objective feedback and work on it.Make a habit of spotting errors and problems in everything you read. Try and think of how you would fix that problem, grammatically or stylisticaly.Get a job that requires you to write, in some capacity. It will require you to write a lot more, and get competitively better at it.Don't ever forget that writing is something you enjoy. Don't ever forget to write in a way that you enjoy. Don't let it become about other things that take the joy away from it.I could go on forever, but this is the heart of it. Write with passion and write well. Most importantly, work towards writing better. Always.

Where did the idea to write your own book come from?

My wife started taking science classes a decade ago with the thought that she might go into nursing. She started looking at jobs she could get with different nursing degrees, and in California (at least at the time), one did not need an M.D. to be elected as Coroner. Most California counties have a combined position of Sheriff/Coroner, but I took creative license, and thought about writing a young nurse who’d be Coroner. I invented a fictional county on the California coast where my main character, a nurse with a masters degree in forensics, became the coroner after pressure from her rich, estranged father. I had a spark of inspiration about a character I would create who would be the murderer in her first investigation.I’ve liked mysteries since I was little kid, first with Encyclopedia Brown books, and then with Agatha Christie, and into adulthood with Michael Connelly and Lee Child (which are, at their heart, murder mysteries). And I’d written a ton of short stories in my teens and twenties, but after failing to finish writing several novels in my twenties, I stopped writing for more than fifteen years. When I had this idea, I realized I’d never tried to write a murder mystery even though it’s by far my favorite genre to read. So on November 1, 2017, I started writing the novel based on this idea.

Is my writing any good or do I suck?

So basically, I am interested in writing, mainly something like Science-fiction. But I feel like I am not such a good writer. I've received plenty of compliments, for an example: "Oh, you write so well! You're probably the best writer I know!" which my best friend said a while ago. While my teacher said that I have great potential and that I should allow my talent to unfurl. Yet, I don't feel like a good writer. I have many, many ideas, but I never have the energy to finish them, I suppose my attention span is that short.

I'll show you an example of my writing:

"She gritted her pearly white teeth as she ran the cold blade across her pale wrist. A hiss of pain was quickly replaced with a satisfied sigh as the endorphin kicked in. She watched as beads of blood slowly seeped from the wound she acquired only a moment ago and finally transforming into a trail of the dark crimson liquid she saw pouring from her wounds every day.

“Sally?” A heavy knock on the bathroom door brought her back to reality. The blonde called Sally stared momentarily at the door and then looked at the tiled floor as she heard drops of her own blood explode when they hit the ground. “Sally, can you hear me?” Her brother's thin voice sounded worried, he once walked in on her cutting herself and forced her to see a psychologist. It worked, for a short period of time, but Sally couldn't handle leaving her addiction so she kept carving her arm, of course keeping it a secret from her brother Bruce.

“Yeah,” She paused for a moment. “Just a sec', coming out.” Quickly, she wrapped a bandage around her wrist, halting the blood flow for a bit. She washed the knife and hid it in its usual place, underneath the sink. She knew it was only a matter of time before Bruce would discover it there, but she would have to chew that food later.

She came face to face with her tall older brother as she opened the worn door. He was tall enough for Sally to have to stand on her tip toes to give him a peck on the cheek. “Phew,” He breathed, “You had me kind of worrying there for a second.” He chuckled and bent slightly to wrap his strong arms around his smaller little sister."

How does that sound? I know it's pretty far-fetched to seek answers from strangers on the internet, but it's really the only option. I am ready to accept critiques.

Should I write my own books or a hire a ghost writer?

It’s your call. Sometimes a popular book author will hire a ghostwriter to work on their book series. This can interfere with the writing style of the author, or it can enhance it.It depends entirely on the strength, talent and skill levels of the ghostwriter. Authors have been known to hire ghosts to get the ghost’s name on the book cover. When a ghost is well known and a best seller, this is known to increase sales of the book. You might want to consider hiring the services of a professional ghost or book editor to complete your work. To give it something it seems to be missing. Or to lend that infamous second set of eyes to your work. This is especially effective when you’ve grown eye-tired over time. Finally, I recommend hiring a professional, experienced book editor to go over your work pre-publication. You can ask your editor to give you suggestions for changes, or even to content or developmentally edit your manuscript. But just a good final copy edit and proofread may be all that you need.
