Violent mob attacks Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bulgaria during annual observance of Christ’s death

BURGAS, Bulgaria—On Sunday, April 17, 2011, at 7:30 pm, Jehovah’s Witnesses in the city of Burgas were peacefully gathered at their Kingdom Hall for the annual commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ. About 20 minutes before the program was to begin, an angry mob of about 60 men, some waving flags of the political party VMRO, gathered in front of the Kingdom Hall. The mob threw large stones at the Witnesses who were at the entrance of the building. After that, the mob stormed the door.

The Witnesses called the police immediately, but they were slow to respond. At the time of the attack, more than 100 people were inside the hall, including women, children and elderly ones. Injuries resulted from the attack, and five victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance with severe injuries, including concussions.

Representatives of the political party VMRO have disrupted the peaceful meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses on several occasions in the past and have repeatedly used the media to circulate defamatory lies about the Witnesses. Criminal complaints against this political party have been filed on numerous occasions, but the attacks have continued. Now, the international community is watching to see how the authorities of the Bulgarian government will react to these lawless and criminal acts.

In Bulgaria last year nearly 4,000 attended the Witnesses’ annual commemoration of Christ’s death. Worldwide there are over 7.5 million Jehovah’s Witnesses who peacefully meet together for worship.

Can a liberal atheist and Conservative Christian be good friends?

Charles Darwin failed miserably in his quest to validate his argument on Evolution.

God created the Heaven and Earth as the Holy Bible declares (Genesis 1:1). Don't put faith in theories. Have faith in God.

Charles Darwin did not use good logic in his famous book, "The Origin of Species."

W.R. Thompson, a Canadian entomologist(entomology-study of insects) of international repute, wrote in his introduction to the centennial edition of Darwin's Origen, "Darwin did not show in the Origin that species had originated by natural selection; he merely showed, on the basis of certain facts and assumptions, how this might have happened, and as he had convinced himself he was able to convince others.

Chapter 4 of the Origin, entitled "Natural Selection; or the Survival of the Fittest," occupies 44 pages in the 1958 mentor edition. In this chapter Darwin used the language of speculation, imagination, and assumption at least 187 times. For example, pages 118 and 119 contain the following phrases; "may have been," "is supposed to," perhaps," "If we suppose," "may still be," 'it is probable," "will generally tend," "may" "will generally tend," 'If," 'if...assumed," "supposed," "supposed," "probably," "It seems, therefore, extremely probable," and "We may suppose." Is this really the language of science? No, it is not.

Of Darwin's speculative arguments Thompson wrote, "....Personal convictions, simple possibilities, are presented as if they were proofs, or at least valid arguments in favor of the theory....The demonstration can be modified without difficulty to fit any conceivable case. It is without scientific value, since it cannot be verified; but since the imagination has free rein, it is easy to convey the impression that a concrete example of real transmutation (change of one species to another) has been given."

Why do Christians attack Wiccans?

We don't burn crosses or the bible or even try to convert anyone. So why is it so difficult to accept us? We don't worship the Devil or summon demons or hex people. We are peaceful and we have done nothing to the Christians for them to hate us so much. Please, can somebody shed some light on why we are constantly looked down on by these people?

How do you know if your chld has Asbergers Syndrome.?

First, I disagree with others regarding teacher. Good for her for mentioning the possibility! If it turns out your child does not have AS, at least you have checked it out.

I have a 27 year old son with AS. At the time he was tested, AS was not yet being dx'd, and he fell through all the cracks for help. He is a solid citizen now, but has struggles that may have been minimized had appropriate dx and treatment been made early on.

Even so, I learned what worked with him, and was able to help him alot. I am assuming you have noticed little idyosyncracies in your son, things that make him a bit different. Obsession with pet subjects, rages from frustration, social difficulties.

Take your son to his pediatrician and ask about it. Take him to another if you have ongoing concerns and one doctor doesnt listen. The whole key here is, there are techniques of working with AS that make life a lot easier for everyone, and the end prognosis for a healthy adult life is very good.

Kids with AS present with very similar behaviour, so it is not in the least out of line for a teacher to suspect it in a child once they know the behaviour and work with it.

Why is the Huffington Post widely hated?

It's puff piece journalism. I am a left leaning person, however I have little tolerance for the constant streams of fawning and gushing over Democrats. Check out the background of their "editoral staff"- 20 year old political science grads fresh out of some left wing non profit political think tanks. Sleazy tactics for headlines- use of keywords to draw site hits despite being irrelevant to the topic. It's also amateurish- I can't recall how many times I have seen the word "awesome" in a headline- it doesn't take much to figure out the demographic of their editoral staff. I wouldn't cite reference to them - their bias is transparent and shallow- I'd be embarrassed to. What they try to pawn off is weak. Here’s an example of the amateurish journalism- along with some racebaiting:Truly my fav- an example of how pathetic a 20 something political science major pretending to be a journalist can go:Sadly this was man who wrote this headline:It appears their “Entertainment” section is the work of some teenage girl that bombards their readers with nonstop Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus and SNL.. which also doesn’t say good things about their readers. Here’s proof how out of touch they are.. on the day of the Hawaiian volcano, THIS New Age Nutcase article was their headline news! Yep, FISH SEX.and another (loved the mom part)..

Jehovah's Withesses, do you agree with Jonestown survivor Teri Buford O'Shea's definition of a cult?

Wow. I noticed a number of very startling things in this article and how it would apply to the Jehovah's Witness religion. Scary. Oh so very scary. These people need loads and loads of prayer.

I agree with her definition, at least partly. There's more to the cult definition than just "you can't see your friends and family" and the JW religion matches the criteria very well. So I do agree with it but more needs to be added to it.

Have you seen the New World HQ at Warwick? It's very isolated and looks like it could be in some kind of jungle. It screams "compound". Frightening. Especially considering what they've said... to be prepared to obey instructions from the governing body and do whatever they say, no matter what. It's like Jonestown all over again. I fear for these people.

What are the best research paper writing services?

If we are talking here about any kind of scientific “research” paper, done as part of an academic program, and hiding the fact that it isn’t your own work:That’s cheating, and is the sort of thing that the research world takes very seriously. It’s not just a matter of who gets credit for the results. The progress of science depends on the honesty of researchers. Not every reported result will be replicated by others, and fake reports cause immense trouble. If you turn a paper in with your name on it, you are asserting that you did the work and you are taking responsibility for the correctness of the results. Honest mistakes can be tolerated, but not fraud. So:You may not get caught. If you do, your career as a researcher is probably over, maybe before it even begins. Think about it.If the service in question is taking your results and just putting them into more understandable language, and if you’re sure they didn’t mangle the meaning or leave out essential qualifiers and caveats, then it might be OK.If you think it’s OK, put a disclaimer in the paper — something like this:This paper represents my own research results, but the presentation was heavily edited by “Zippy Research Papers and Auto Repair, Inc.”That might not help the paper get accepted, but at least it’s honest. If you present such a paper as your own work and writing, that’s still fraud, and I, for one, would deal very harshly with that if you were my student.
