Opinions On My Gaming Build

Opinions on "gaming" laptops?

Ok so i want to buy a "gaming" laptop, and please don't tell me to build my own pc because a laptop is what i need right now.
I'm kinda stuck between msi, asus, and metabox clevo
Here are then links:

MSI

METABOX

N.B. the clevo will cost around 2200AUD pretax.

I'm kinda worried that msi would overheat because i've heard they had that issue. Asus seems pretty nice and nifty. The metabox seems like the best bang for buck, but it isn't very popular, and i don't know much about the brand (quality, heating, aging), although it seems that it is somewhat superior, especially since it has a series 10 gpu.
Alienware and razer are out of the question
Any feedback would be appreciated

Thank you!

What is your opinion on PC gaming vs console gaming?

PC gaming is better in almost every way.You can customize the hardware, but you can’t do that with consoles. Whatever hardware a Playstation or Xbox uses, you’re stuck with it.If the graphics card in my PC is old and out dated, I can buy a new one, take out the old one, and install the new graphics card in.Building a PC is almost like playing LEGO. It does take a long time if you’re building it from the scratch, but if you just want to replace a graphics card, it’s quick and easy.PC games can have better graphics and frame rate (depending on how strong your graphics card is). I also like the text chat with players when playing online, but obviously you can’t do that on consoles. The biggest problem with PC gaming is the money. All the hardware, including a monitor that can have a really high resolution and frame rate and a mouse that has a somewhat high DPI (I prefer laser mice), can be very costly. But I still prefer PC gaming. When I started PC gaming 3 years ago, I forgot about console gaming.

What is the best gaming PC I can build?

What water-cooled PC build, in your opinion, is the best looking?

I’m not a PC person. You can indirectly cool any computer using water at a distance.IBM developed Thermal Conducting Modules (TCM)s for 3090s and subsequent System Z machines which used water heat transfer, etc. So I don’t of any PCs using TCMs. Keeping water clean is not easy as IBM learned.

I want to build my own gaming PC. What CPUs or parts do you recommend?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mggBnH

The i7-8700K is the best gaming CPU available right now. Threadripper CPUs like the one you mentioned are designed for use in servers and workstations, which means that they sacrifice single-core performance in favor of multi-core performance. For gaming, it's better to have fewer faster cores than more slower cores.

How long does a prebuilt gaming pc last?

I have mine for 3 years now and looking to build a new pc. After 4 months since I bought my pre built pc it crashed and somewhat burnt. So I ship it to the place where they fix it. Ship back then return it again. The problem was the power supply but im not sure cuz i forgot. My computer is slow now since some programs would freeze and load up super slow. I'm thinking of just upgrading all the parts and build a new pc. I would upgrade all except for my GTX 750 TI graphics card that i recently bought last year ago. What parts do I need????? My budget is probably 400.

PC Gaming or Console Gaming?

I'm having a hard decision choosing whether to put money towards the next gen console (xbox one) or build a gaming computer. My budget for a PC is around 500-700$. (Can upgrade later) I'm really interested in gaming and plan on being a video game designer or computer engineer in the future so games will always be apart of my life.

The hard part for me is I can't choose which one I want to play on. I feel like most xbox games I like can be played on the PC. But I don't know what the community is like and whether or not PC gaming has that social/friendly feeling.

In my opinion, the xbox is more simple buy a game, put in it, play it. It works. I consider myself a hardcore gamer. I like putting time into games and experiencing the full story of a game. Also, I really enjoy multiplayer games of course.

I can't decide. I keep going back and forth in my head. Please help!

How is my gaming PC build? Are all of the parts compatible?

Comparability wise you're fine, however I suggest some chenges to extract better overall performance for your buck.Since you are willing to spend so much on the CPU and GPU its advisable to get better quality PSU, probably with all Japanese capacitors eg. Corsair RM650x, Seasonic M12II/S12II 620W.You should also opt for a better case. eg. NZXT Source 340 Elite/ Corsair 400Q/ Cooler Master Masterbox 5. You shouldn't even consider anything cheaper than the Corsair Spec 01, since you would risk cooling your high end components if you do.An SSD is a must have at this price. If you cant afford a PCIe than get atleast a 240G SATA SSDs for Windows and important software. The 7700 was never a good choice from a price to performance standpoint, and now this fact is amplified with the availability of much better Ryzen CPU at and below its price point. You would be better off opting for a Ryzen 7 1700, or even the much cheaper 1600/1600X (which should offset the extra PSU, cabinet and SSD cost). Note these Ryzen CPUs need an X370/B350 motherboard. If you don't care for things like quality streaming and multitasking and only want to just game at highest frame rates, then the I7 7700K+Z270 mobo would give you better value than the 7700.
