Is Jayden a boys name or a girls name? 10 points best answer! ?
I know of three Jaydens. My wife is a daycare teacher. All three Jaydens are boys. My opinion is that it is a boy's name, although it is becoming more and more common to use names that are typically gender-specific and use them for the opposite gender. For example, I know a woman whose name is Ryan. I also know another young lady whose name is Shawn. It is usually less common to use typically-feminine names for boys, although I do have a buddy named Shannon. I asked several of my overseas buddies and they all agree that Jayden would be a better boy-name (it can be shortened to Jay) while Hayden would be more appropriate for a girl. I hope this helps.

What Is Your Opinion On This Very Unique Girl Name Please Be Honest?
Erin isn't that uncommon! At least not around here! (I live in Ireland!) I think its a beautiful name and although its not universally as well known as say Emily or Sarah it is a name most people would be able to pronounce without a bother! Erin Rose is a beautiful combination! Erin Marie is a little plain for my tastes though! Some suggestions: Erin Madeline Erin Esther Erin Camille Erin Faye Erin Imogen Erin Isabella Erin Ruby Erin Sophia Erin Audrey
Are Ashley and Addison boys' names or girls' names? What makes a name feminine or masculine?
I can already feel the heat from answerers on this one, but I'm really curious. In your opinion, what makes a name a boy's name versus a girl's name? Is it its origin? Or is it its modern usage? Here's my opinion: Since Madison, Addison, and Ashley are ranked numbers 4, 12, and 18, respectively, on the list of Top 20 Most Popular Baby Girls Names, they are considered to be feminine by the general American public. Regardless of the fact that they originated as masculine names, they are regarded as little girls' names today. (Please note that I am an American, and therefore am using data from the United States' baby lists. Obviously, rankings will be very different across countries. Please feel free to share your knowledge if you are from another country!) So what do you think? Why is it that you feel like Ashley and Addison are male or female names? Is Emma a girls' name because it is popular for girls TODAY, or because it has been popular for girls ever since it was created? Please be respectful to others while you answer this question. Thanks for your opinions! http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames....

Is Jordan more of a girls name or a boys name?
The Social Security Adminstration, which assigned the SSNs to all newborns, tracks the popularity of the top 1000 names each year. Check their website at http://ssa.gov/cgi-bin/babyname.cgi and you will see the ranking of Jordan as a girl's name in the past 10 years was: Popularity of the female name Jordan Year of birth Rank * 2006 97 2005 86 2004 70 2003 48 2002 45 2001 47 2000 50 1999 48 1998 42 1997 40 1996 49 * Note: Rank 1 is the most popular girl's name in the country that year, rank 2 is the next most popular, and so forth Versus the popularity of Jordan as a boy's name in the past 10 years: Popularity of the male name Jordan Year of birth Rank 2006 46 2005 46 2004 43 2003 38 2002 37 2001 39 2000 36 1999 30 1998 27 1997 26 1996 27 Which proves that while statistically, Jordan is still more widely used as a boys name, it's not very far behind in popularity as a girl's name. (and personally, although I think it is a great name, I would avoid picking a name that is in the top 50 for popularity).
Do you prefer common or unusual names?
My opinion: I'm kinda midway but I don't like how some parents think that branding their kid as a 'special snowflake' will give them more of a special identity, it seems arrogant to me. The name doesn't make the person great. I like names that are uncommon but not weird or standoffish, ones that don't look like the parents are deliberately trying to be creative and clever. What I hate more is parents who give their kids ridiculous spellings of normal names in an attempt to be creative or cutesy, eg Madysonne, Emersyn, Jaxon, McKayla. They will go through their lives constantly having to correct their names. Although I like minor, traditional spelling variations (eg, Isabel, Aimee) that aren't tacky. Tyfanni is still Tiffany no matter how you spell it. What is your opinion? Do you disagree or agree?
